[v8.6 Ground Combat]- Two Soldiers Can Occupy Same Tile

Recommended Posts

First time posting, but I must say I've greatly enjoyed all of the Dev builds. Great job Chris & Co. :)

Now then, I've noticed that if you manage to order one soldier to a given square and then order a different trooper to that same square before the first one completes his movement, they will occupy the same square and confuse the game as to which soldier is which for the rest of that ground combat. After achieving this feat (I did it accidentally the first time or two, but have managed to recreate the bug since then) trying to click on either soldier for the rest of the mission will result in selecting the whichever one arrived in the tile second, though you can still select the first trooper with the number keys. This is actually the most dangerous part of the bug, as it allows you to play through it, which I advise against as it seems to cause all sorts of nasty repercussions (primarily UI bugs) throughout the rest of the mission. In the end I've been unable to complete any missions where I duplicated this bug. Admittedly, I have no idea whether or not these bugs I encountered later had anything to do with this, but I assume that they do since the bug report thread isn't packed with "ZOMG, Y EYE CAN'T COMPLETES MISSIONZ?"

Hope this helps some. Sorry if its been seen before, but I didn't see it on the master bug list.

It has been reported before in 8.5 afaik. It could be usefull to also check the first or second page of the bug reports forum and not just the master bug list. (helps if all of the reports of a bug is in the same thread)

(also please add in brackets if its geoscape or ground combat or base view or whatever :))

It is on the master bug list, but there's 2 different ways to get 'ghost' soldiers so the list doesn't specify the method.

- Xenonaut becomes unselectable by mouse (possible with hotkey or mousewheel) and can be pathed over/on top of. 14/12

(Thanks Gorlom, saved me some typing :D)
