Belmakor Posted May 5, 2012 Share Posted May 5, 2012 Base construction times at the moment are actually quite quick i feel. I seem to remember a hangar in the original took about 30 days, am i right? thothkins Posted May 6, 2012 Share Posted May 6, 2012 Much like Belamkor, I feel that the construction is quick, relative to EU. I've thought that the modules take as long as they do, because there is the rock to be dug into to create the undergorund space. That's going to take as long as it takes, before you can even think of building in the space. So, if something like this were to be introduced, there should still be a baseline minimum of X days for all modules that represents that part of the work. How about this -- allow the player to assign Engineers to the construction of facilities to make them build faster. I don't know how much each Engineer would contribute, but I think it'd be a cool feature. Much of the time, especially early in the game, my engineers aren't doing much anyway, and this would be a great way to make them worth the pay. Even mid-late game it'd be a balance of not producing weapons/armor while helping with building speed, or just a reward for managing your economy very well.
