  1. Hi, sometimes I really feel like playing faster. I wish there were no running animations... some turn based games have optional quickmodes, I think CIV or Alpha Centauri have it... Are there any thoughts to implement something like this? Technically, it should make the games life even easier I think Best regards Michael
  2. I can tell Jagged Alliance 2 is source of inspiration along with X-COM. My question is, are there any over-the-top death animations like head explosions or bodies falling off rooftops?
  3. I noticed that, although working correctly sometimes, there are still instances where the soldier does the jump over animation, but lands in front of the item, rather than behind it. Is this still being worked on (lower priority), or is this a flaw that cannot be fixed for the final?
  4. These are manifested by units being invisible (but still having a shadow), displaying the wrong animation for the unit or not appearing to hold a weapon when they are using one. Report such instances here and we'll try to fix them up. A good way to identify a hostile unit that is not displaying correctly is to kill it, then stand on the corpse and open the Soldier Inventory. Hold your mouse over the corpse of the dead unit until the tooltip appears, which will give the race and rank of the alien and you'll be able to see his equipment from the ground too.
  5. I was thinking why aliens in old UFO EU looks more scary. Because they walk. In Xeno aliens runs pretty fast and its funny. Maybe there is a chance to slow down them?
  6. This is most noticeable with the tank vehicle where you move it around and it seems quite unrealistic the way it turns instantly in direction, this happens with soldiers as well. Is it possible to render in maybe 8 directional animation files (used only for changing unit direction) for when units move around and add in some short transition with turning etc.. 12 would be even better. I'm going to try and answer my own question and say the engine simply can't do it! is this correct?
  7. I was playing the other day and I realized that nothing on the battlefield is animated from what I could see. So what would be nice to see is. - Dust and other random debris (paper) in the wind - Environmental effects like wind/snow/rain in some situations (this has been requested before I know) - Alien aircraft have glowing parts and maybe some sparks where cracks exist due to crash (atm they are perfect UFO's except the one's on fire) - Characters to have idle animations - And whatever else makes sense. I know this is probably not gonna happen? and some may have been suggested before; just thought I'd make a post about it, as its something I felt would bring the battlefield to life and be much more enjoyable.
