  4. New faces were ADDED not replaced. The pool is thus bigger. "Unlocking" all the faces is a terrible idea - it would cause even more duplicate faces in game. Just go into your face folder and look at those pictures. med, afri, asi, nor already uses a lot of the same resources as cust. If you simply blindly unlock 'cust' ever second soldier you get will have the potential to have a duplicate face (well depending on luck). Instead only some faces will be 'unlocked' in XNT (though in a different way than in jsleezys mod). bullflowers, vanilla alows for any amount of faces you want. You just add them. And vanilla does use all the faces. Though cust are used for pregenareted soldiers. and btw vanilla uses 58 faces for random soldiers, not 36
  5. Hello community, Just wanted to say bye, and refer anyone who would otherwise PM me to TD, Sentelin or Selgald. Im leaving the team due to external factors (life ). So I would like to publicly thank the team and players for the time spent together. On a brighter note. Here is a list of the references/tributes/easter eggs I smugled into xenopedia.   6. ^^ The engine is not really flexible. This means that I could either allow you to toggle between all missile types for all aircrafts (unbalanced ass hell) or make it as it is now - so that you can't ever change missiles (But they do get auto-upgraded once you get the necessary tech). On the other hand, you will be able to toggle between cannons when you use advanced aircrafts (saracen, corsair, marauder).

  8. Im all in for a anti-materiel rifle. Was thinking about it for some time now. Flamethrowers would be cool, though that's a lot of work Mortars...meh seems a bit op in theory (AIs' in games dont usually don't cope very well with artillary fire) What do you mean by aircrews? Pilots? Not doable currently...maybe someday with the code open...
  9. Meh, I made those when Mig was still a t1 aircraft. Mammoths are t1 weapons.... so you will get them if you unlock Migs before alenium. Otherwise they are automatically replaced. I'll just change the name of the missile to mk I/ mk II so it's less confusing.
  10. Realistic mode is outdated by far 1) XNT has 2 new aircrafts (Mirage 2000, Su27) + unlockable Saracen + completely changed air combat (lots of new weapons, new stats) 2) There is a AWCS mod ( +1 scouting aircraft with no firepower) + range adjustments to other crafts

Is that it looks very...ehmm: flat (I don't know art/painting expressions). I mean the other game models have some amount of 3Dness around them (shadows, light reflections), my Su isn't perfect but I still think it looks more like the game art than the one you are proposing. Here is a comparission of my Su, F17, your Su, TD's recolor of my Su (the one that is in game) http://postimg.org/image/3kt9rzn5z/ Looking at them like this I can see that both yours and mine could probably be moddified to look a bit more like the original (altough yours would need more work - it has the out-line factor that's present in the game model (unlike mine) but it's very flat as I said before. ). Apollo is a different case. I couldn't find anything copyright free (and it was my first aircraft) so I made it from a free photo. Im happy about the quality of the art, but I know that it is somewhat different than the in game models. I'll try to make some adjustments when I have the time. But there is only so much I can do. Im no artist and I can't really draw them myself so the art will always be a bit different than that of in-game models. edit: I tried to do apply some shading (and lighting?) to your picture, it could work, though I don't have the time for it atm.
  12. should be the other way around. I agree. This was planned to change in the next update anyway. It is the vanilla rate btw (or at least the vanilla rate from a month ago then it was changed to 35 I think. Rly. I agree, I change it to 45 in my games. 50 would be still agreeable imo. Air supremacy system was totally overhauled as you might have noticed. And it is currently being tested for a slight yet very significant change in the future.
  13. Rule, Britannia! You cannot just remove the Brits like that. Those tea-lovers will appear in your barracks whether you want them or not. There are many Brits in the kickstarter pool (I presume) and there's also a guy called Chris England ^^. They are all hardcoded so they will appear as British...or in this case they will be proud represtantives of #####. Ok, so now the solution: To remove the Brtis add a value in strings: the first table should read: British and the second English... this will refer all hardcoded British values to be called English in games. This will fix the issue of kickstarter soldiers and btw it will fix save-game compatibility. Edit: Oh, and obviously keep the English / English value as well. You need both. -------------------------------------- Hmm, I was going through the files, one more thing seems awry remember you can have many strings leading to the same result But you can't have one string leading to different results (cos they won't show up). So in practice you can make: British ---> English English ---> English Tea.Lover ---> English But you can't have regiment.japan1 ---> 1st Airborn regiment.japan1 ---> 4th Divison The game will always use the first value (or maybe the second. IDK. But always just one of these). You have some duplicate strings leading to different results in many countries. Some of them are new duplicates. Some of them are duplicates from vanilla (yes..vanilla has duplicates for a loooooong time now...I think it's from the time that Chris incorporated one of Pinetree's first versions of Extended mod into the vanilla game....but they never removed the old values )
  14. I think you get extra points (hp/ accuracy etc.) the moment you advance. But I would like someone to confirm this too. I notice this especialy when priv --> corp (in my games you need 2-3 missions to do that) aircrafts xml. Charlie has a max of 10 soldiers so don't put in more. And don't add more vehicle slots. The 6 soldiers you start with are your elite. They have better stats than fresh recruits. If it's not my imagination than it's hardcoded cos I can't find any values in gameconfig (You wouldn't imagine the amount of hardcoded things in this game ^^)
  15. @Blackwolf,Radek This is nothing that's going to get official (alothough rank progression will be a bit slower as TD just mentioned) But imho it more fun and emotional this way: If you have a Corporal... he is a legend. And at this point you choose on which missions he goes and in what role very wisely. (Actually, you already cared and choose wisely if he is a live at this point (well that and luck)). But if you don't care about naming your soldiers and spending the extra time to set who goes on each missions...well then it's probably not for you. When I play this way I always use a wide list of soldiers: There is no Team A, Team B for me(i.e. I would never send all my officers on one mission). I even send some of my officers on "retirement" (they get to command the garrisons of other bases). My game actually feel much more RPG (role-playing-game) than the RPG meaning which is proposed today (stats-and-title-improving game). I remember I once had an officer hero with 20+ missions ... and I lost him whilst heroicly deffending a private. Because it was just what he would have done ^^. - Gives morale to the team in 10 tiles (the higher rank the bigger the morale bonus) - If you increase the soldier capacity is better that you increase progression (I think this means that when you advance you get extra points once, immediately after advanding? Am I right TD?)

But it would probably be prudent if you uploaded a savegame of when the bug happens so Tactical Dragon can check it out. ------------------------------------------------------------------ @Blackwolf, Lol, you seem to tweak your game the same way I do (i set charlie --> 10, shrike --->12, valkyrie --->14). And to balance I double or tripple rank requirements (depending on rank). TD and Sentelin think it's not balanced though.

  20. Just go into advanced settings in Chrome and turn off phishing and Malicious software protection (or whatever it's called) for the time you're downloading (or use IE for the download). The file is safe, just not certified cos it's modded.
  21. It refers to Polish battle experience (Worker Rebelion refers to suppressing a strike by police and regular military forces in Gdansk (Poland)...no elite units involved). The Warsaw Pact Invasion of Czechoslovakia, on the other hand, was one of the biggest military operations in post war Europe and did involve Polish elite troops. ----- Gurhkas -yeah, but the main point was about the RGR (currently set as the only gurkha regiment) which wasn't in existence in 1979 ^^ --- Thanks for keeping up the good work
  22. And as we are speaking of Asian countries... Gurkhas: Royal Gurkha Rifles were formed in 1994. Prior to that there were 4 UK aligned Gurkha regiments. For Xenonauts I would chose the: 10th Princess Mary's Own Gurkha Rifles (cool name, isn't it?) Fortunately, they are abbreviated to 10 GR. I picked this one cos I think they had the most experience shortly prior to 1979 Battle experience: Brunei, Cyprus Also, since most Gurkha regiments stayed with the Indian Army (after India gained independance). It would also be nice to add an Indian-based Gurkha regiment e.g. 5 Gorkha Rifles (abbreviated to 5 GR (boooring) but also called Frontier Force) battle experience: Pakistan ----------------------------------- I thought guerrilla warfare died out shortly after armistice was signed? Im no an expert on East Asian conflicts...but are you refering to the Blue House Raid? (cos it's difficult to have experienced soldiers from an opperation where all the participating soldiers died ). Edit: oh ok I've found out that NK commandos landed in SK in 1968 to establish a standpoint for guerilla operations..out of the initial 120-130 some 13 escaped back to NK alive. Well we might have on of them amongts the Xenonauts, true enough. ----------------------------------- I would also change the name of one polish regiment - 4101st Paratroop Battalion --> 1st Assault Battalion (1 Batalion Szturmowy) - the official name of the unit in 1979. Workers' Rebelion ---> Czechoslovakia Reason: The regiments did not participate in suppressing the Workers Rebelion (at least as far as I know). Logicaly: you wouldn't send special units for crowd control operations. However, some elite regiments were involved in taking over military compounds whilst invading Czechoslovakia in 1968 (6th Pom. Air Assault Div; 1st Assault Battalion).
  23. Ahh, but you still have to spend a lot of time on being a racist (that is: selecting which faces go to which category) and you have to do that 3x times over (faces/ faces with shoulders/hands).
