  1. Yeah - got that too - a caesan blasted away at the hedgerow and kept removing it (to get at the soldier that was hiding behind it). i could shoot back through these black areas, but i kinda looks a bit... off...
  2. here too. zapped alien carrier - got soldiers on site - blasted an sinle caesan into kingdom come - mission ends.

Hey. two things about this flight capable armor - sentinel? there are two kinda strange habits if have been watching... first: they kinda like to try to land on top of other soldiers - looks like the autopath script has some nasty S&M habits that need clearing... second: a soldier decided to land inside a cruiser a just did so - completely unobstructed (or at least aware) by the fact that theres an ufo roof in the way... greetings

  5. a logical expansion to fighting aliens with stun grenades and stuff would be to use a tool to improve chances. How about this one? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M79_grenade_launcher in Xenonauts we´re talking about a military unit fighting some real nasty enemies - using grenade launchers shouldnt be that off, should it? one could use standart explosives, smoke grenades, stun grenades and more. however - i accept that there are some difficultys involved with programming a grenade launcher since it wouldnt be using a normal shot trajectory but a ballistic arc which would need to be calculated through a lot of things - to stop in the midst of the arc if an obstacle, a ceiling for example, gets hit. I´m no programmer myself (what language are you using by the way? ) but i think it should be workable. all the parts - like the throwing arc - are there in other parts of the game. one would think that these parts can be copied, slightly adapted and misappropiated for this purpose.

  7. hey. just got to try the new release. the game still crashes on air combat - not everytime though. i got to more or less instantly rely on the autoresolve feature cause these air combat scenes get old real quick. game crashed on one of the earliest 3-ufo combinations. a... was ist called medium? the second ufo typ you get anyway - with two sidekicks, beeing attacked three of mine. these air combat crashes are a bit annoying - any idea on when these get adressed?
  8. oh good. thx. i think i saw some mentioning about changes in the chance to hit calculations - allthough i dont really remember the details. i must have been mistaken then. whatever. i cant wait for the bugs to be straightened out - the game is quite promising. in one of my earlier trys i had researched the alien plasma stuff to the point where some research entry said that it can be modified to be used by humans. i was wondering why the stuff didnt appear in the soldier equip screen. any suggestions on that? did i miss something?
  9. i tried this experimental build and found something amiss right at the first ufo mission - the chance to hit has gone down SEVERELY! when i had in earlier builds a chance of 40% (which isnt good but enough) with an AR on single shot - i now have a freaking useless 1%... even sniper rifles have been reduced to garbage since they improve the chance at the same range to merely 3%... i dont really know what you guys are thinking - but geting close enough to actually have a chance to kill something with these chances is outright impossible. i suggest rethinking that issue.
  10. i stumbled over an similar error to this one - allthough not in xenonauts - the game in question was be neverwinter online. i fixed it by turnung off "anisyntropische filterung" (german word - having trouble remembering the english phrased right now"). dont know if its related - or if its just my hardware giving me a hard time though. I´m using win7 x64 an AMD 8320 CPU asrock 970 extreme 4 mainbord and an ASUS Geforce 280 OC 8 GB DDR RAM (3 ? must be getting old...) hope this helps.

  14. appears random to me however - if you give me your email adress i´ll send you my savegame - dont know if that woud recreate the error, but it cant hurt to offer.
  15. hi there. i wanted to report on constant application frezing - i´m using the recent steam version since its been unlocked (the desura updater kept bluescreening my system) dont know whats wrong though - doesnt matter if in battlescape or in geoscape - it just stops working - there is no error message displayed - i have to use the task manager to kill the game. i already looked for some kind of log in the game dir - but to no avail. i hope you can fix the issue cause i cant wait to be able to play it for real instead of stumbling over one bug after another...
  16. sounds like ther AI is not up to the task - a damn shame if you ask me. i´m reading this while my desura client is busy updating, but i think I´ll pass and wait for the next update. however - keep it up. i´ve seen projects wo´ve stopped at a quarter of what you´ve achieved - keep it up.
  17. that explains a lot... a modern calculator is a hundret times faster - but killing an old arcade machine is next to impossible without a nuclear strike... :-D
  18. oh - one more thing - one would think that a rocket tank would be a better shooter than a soldier with a rifle... obviously not... i wonder how its targeting? by having someone blindfolded and aiming over the thumb? It took me 4 shots to hit once - the sebilian was obliterated of course... but hitting some civilian cars (pretty resistent to tank rockets by the way - are these volvos? :-D ) and whatever wasnt really useful - i wont complain too much about them though - just having my beloved rocket tank at all is quite the improvement.
  19. hey there. after the recent update via desura (version 18 hotfix 1) i noticed some small bugs... i´ll take them in order of file name of screenshot http://imageshack.us/g/820/capture0011404201314085.jpg/ Capture1... does anyone agree with me that a parking ticket is in order for parking INSIDE a helicopter? Capture2... i dont mind having ghost soldiers - but i´m thinking if this was planned or not... walking through a tree is kinda wrong... Capture3... it was hell to get this sebilian out from in front of that container... some way of making him better taretable would be nice - took me a while to NOT target the container instead... Capture4... i´m just mentioning this because i´m at it anyway... the font size could be adjusted to not have overlapping text... oh - and take a look in the options menu for keybord shortcuts for more text work to be done...

    good to know that they´ll be making a comeback - speaking of rockets - how about a gas rocket? if you can put it in a grenade, you should be able to deliver it by rocket - which could the be used by rocket tanks, for example. with these aliens beeing so damn tough any responsible commander would use every single advantage one could think of. and why sacrifice a good soldier when an (sort of) unmanned vehicle will do.

    hey there. Just to mention it - the machine gun on the first tank is fine and all - but the original ufo had a basic tank with a rocket launcher on it available. problem was - all the advanced tanks never came with the rocket option. whats the point of having a floating tank (which wont hit anything at all - really...) if it cant do anything decent... ^^ to cut a long story short - please dont forget to include rocket tanks. ^^
  22. i have to agree to with the first poster - the aliens are ridiculously hard to kill. i tried to get through an alien terror attack on a city - i lost 4 soldiers plus a tank before i got the first god damn lizard down. i have seen the mention about the difficulty settings so i wont complain right now - but it would be nice if the "ready to play" versions easy settings would indeed be easy - for all those who dont associate "Suicidal maniac" with easy settings... :-) ohh - and my game crashes all the time during combat - is there any chance that the game (I´m using desura) creates any kind of log which i can send to you guys for inspection? I´d like to see that game finished, after all. second - i have some kind of creeping suspicion... at one time there was a mention of a dozen additional research projects available - but there was no mention of them in the actual research screen... however - since theres no chance chance to get past the first few game days i have no real chance to confirm wheather i´m right about this or not...
