  1. Tut, tut! Why let it bother you? Let them eat cake. Look on the bright side, it bumps your mod.
  2. It's funny, before this mod I would have to take a second look to distinguish male from female soldier. Now it only takes a glance.
  3. Nope, still crash's Chris. Correction, working fine now.
  4. Crash on game start. "Xenonauts.exe has stopped working" Verifying cache. Update: Validated but the game still crash's on start. This is the first crash I have had in ages, brings back memory's from years back.
  5. Not hard at all if you have that download button. It's there now but when I tried earlier it wasn't. What is this boob thing you have, I am interested in my females looking like females, that is all, or maybe you would like boobs on your male soldiers, would that look the part you think?
  6. I can't seem to download it. Every button I press brings up a advert or wants to install junkware. I was meaning to ask, does this just cover basic armour or carry over to all armours?
  7. The more I play Xenonauts the more I fall in love with it. It is really getting some positive feedback.
  8. I like this mod, it does add atmosphere to the game. I too have left the geoscape as it was though, I don't like the grey but like the dark grainy look.
  9. This mod looks very interesting, I am going to try it out I think. It's a shame you couldn't go a little further with it, and give the female soldiers hot-pants and tie around summer shirts, that would look so cool. But I guess you are restricted as to how far you can mod them. Update: I have just tried out the mod, and it looks great. My lady's now look like lady's. Question: I have removed my Jsleezy's portraits for the time being as someone on this post says that the female heads do not line up with the new bodies. How many pixels or whatever would I have to drop the heads to line up? Keep up the good work, and remember that the best artists always attract the worst cynics.
  10. I always see it as; This is the a true Xcom/UFO remake, or re-imagining, where as, Xcom EU/EW is the arcade version of the game. I definitely prefer Xenonauts out of the two.
  11. I am now pretty good with night missions, simply really when you know how. As long as you can find a way to avoid the first few accurate alien volley's, the rest is usually a piece of cake. Now I am over that hurdle I can get back to really enjoying myself. Anyone know if you can get a GOG key from Desura?
  12. Well you know it never occurred to me that I might be playing the wrong game. Maybe you know of a game that would be right for me, preferably one with things that I can dress up and bake cakes for. I played the same night mission again, but this time all the alien shots-from-the-dark missed, and I was able react, and slay, every last blobby thing to the last tentacle. How good am I hu?
  13. You're correct, this is how night missions should be approached. The holes appear when you find that all of a sudden every alien is a sharp shooter, and the killing shot usually comes from behind. Closing the distance is usually certain death. Shields blip out in one shot leaving you very little health if any. Smoke works both ways. Again, if you can't respond you can't play, only pray.
  14. I would rather nobble the aliens. The problem here, besides a iffy logic, is the bloody alien accuracy. You are not given a opportunity to respond, thus making the whole thing a waste of time. I understand that humans without the aid of night-sights are handicapped in the dark, but to elevate this fact into a duck-shoot does not add anything good to the game. We SHOULD look forward to night missions, we should enjoy night missions and not AVOID night missions. It's a game.
  15. Fair enough. But what a shame so many of us have to miss out on a part of the game that could be fun (flares, spooky dark corners and all that) because of..........................because of what ever it's because of.
  16. Thanks. I might try this just to prove that there is no secret squirrel spotting for well positioned snipers, and more, that the whole thing be nothing but a farce.
  17. I understand the theory, I think it has been explained to me before, but in practice I see no evidence of this being the case. It feels wrong, totally unfair, and as if it was more the AI cheating, emulating the above theory. From what I read others avoid these missions for the same reasons. I know when I come across this it makes me really angry. If I lose a man, I want to be able to say "Okay, shit happens" and not "You have to be f****** kidding me". A black mark on what has turned out overall to be a very good game. Note to self; Avoid night/cheat missions like the plague.
  18. Yes, it was a night mission. But surly running my men towards the direction of fire should have reveled the alien.
  19. This is the problem. They didn't have squad sight. The two aliens outside of the drop ship were dispatched turns before the magical alien fire. It also doesn't fit that any alien can become dead-eye through the squad-sight rule. To be able to lose your whole, or most of team though this silliness, simply kills the game for me. This one thing has me asking myself "whats the point?"
  20. I have been playing from 1.7 and it has been fine, great in-fact. And then this. I thought they had abandoned the idea of super aliens that are able to shoot you at their leisure from the other side of the map. That's not a game, that's just plain stupid. I had shots from the dark coming in from several directions killing my men, and even though I ran a few men in the direction of the fire I still couldn't spot the bastards, they were that far away. It's a simple lesson in how to turn a great game in to a shit game for no apparent reason.
  21. Whats going on? My game was playing fine, it was really fun, then loading up and playing this afternoon I find we are back to the aliens stupid fire from miles away in the FOW, that kill my men in one shot. I thought we had done with all that. You would not believe how crap this makes the game.
  22. Sounds like a very good idea. Sometimes a 3rd party will see where a problem is straight away, what you seem to be blind too.
  23. And what is the Community Coder program? Is it like a secret community, with a special handshake and all that?
  24. Another sneaky, behind our backs, stealthy, cunning update has been made to the game, a few minutes ago.
