  1. @bonerstorm Dude, I took out a flight of 3 interceptors with 2 5 armor phantoms.. which you should definitely have long before they show up. I think I have 6-7 phantoms up at that point of the run. You need to chill out a bit, judging from your posts I played completely differently than you in terms of tech progression and my panic levels are stable. What you see at day 166 in those screenshots is where it stayed in the run because I had the air war won, UFOs couldn't run up panic anymore. It's just not as broken as you think. FWIW @Chris I would note missiles as a whole seem woefully underpowered compared to X1, but I withhold judgement as the game makes it very clear an air war pass is coming.

You say this alot, but I can down a 3 interceptor flight with 3 15 armor gauss phantoms reliably... 1v1 a Gauss phantom will beat an interceptor, split the engagement into 3 1v1s and it's simple. Killing 3 of them with 2 5/15 Guass armor phantoms is... harder... but can be done. I suspect you are not dodging their missiles and that is what is causing you problems. Granted.. the game doesn't really tell you they have missiles, but they do.
  3. anybody else noticed this? I'm getting a 50% accuracy with shotguns at point blank range, it's annoying when two guys unload 4 shots at point blank and hit nothing.

  6. They don't seem to be, I downed >20 and never got it. I also have downed carriers in the same game and only gotten fusion reactor tech (at least I assume that's what it is, the research box is ####), no tube launchers or armor from it either. The trend seems to be that datacores in general are either not triggering research properly or they're somehow getting destroyed... the aliens seem very trigger happy in their own ships this build (trying to shoot through the walls)
  7. that is a negative for me. Unless I am not "securing" the ship in the games opinion by not visually clearing the 2nd floor, which never happens because all the aliens are on the 1st floor and bumrush you the second you come in range. took a look through the files, apparently I am supposed to get alien launch tubes from the carrier? that didn't drop either.
  8. Yup, got alloys from all the ships, even getting money from armor off of the cruisers, but zero research. Also not getting any armor off of the carrier, but that may not have armor normally, idk.

  10. So directional thrusters are still not dropping, I've done ~20 landing ships and cruisers, no joy. Also cruisers aren't unlocking alien armor research anymore, is that intentional or a bug?
  11. Was the alien alloy hardening drop removed from cruisers? I don't seem to get them. Also I have never gotten directional thrusters to drop either, over the course of some 20+ landing ship/cruiser kills.
  12. Just to clarify, this is a new game. And I did another new game after just to check to see if it fixed itself, it didn't.

  14. The manufactures.XML In game the price shows as 750k now, but for whatever reason some part of the game still seems to believe it's 7.5mil
  15. just out of curiosity does anybody know how to mod the price so we can get a workaround going? I tried simply editing the 1 line in the manufature.xml file but it doesn't work, game just deducts 750k and then tells me construction is paused due to financial issues.
  16. basically any time I am getting an alien base it will disappear if any save is loaded after it has been discovered. So like --> alien base found, game crashes, I reload from save after alien base is discovered, no alien base on geoscape.

I've tried simply changing the xml file, which does change the price that is reflected in-game... but then I get the message that XXX is paused due to financial resources and nothing happens. fwiw I'm simply trying to fix the marauder costing 7.5mil (instead of 750k), after my xml change to the price the game will subtract 750k money but will pop up the above error... I figure I'm missing some edit somewhere.
  18. pretty sure this is a typo and that it was supposed to be 750k
  19. seems like the game is consistently CTD-ing whenever a sebillian gets stunned by smoke.
