  3. Still kind of confused why reaper hive got lowest out of all map/tileset ones .-. I mean, its most unique out of them all...

Ah dang it D: I hope you read our conversation in proposed stretch goals thread and consider adding reaper hive in a way that makes you guys do less work(we were talking about how you can ignore doing damaged tiles for reaper hive because... Well, you'll see if you check the thread). I mean, yeah, tilesets are painful to do, but they add lots of variance in the game which is awesome. UFO Alien Invasion has large pool of set maps which game randomly chooses from, but because pool is so large you don't get same map too often so it feels pretty awesome. But yeah, please consider adding reaper hive in some form ^^;
  5. Well, I doubt nuke craters will show up in satellite picture, but having their names(and location dot) crossed out when zooming in would be cool. And thank you
  6. For example, if certain country gets enough casualties, then during at night lights shouldn't lit up anymore. Mainly minor visual changes that happen based on how good you are doing with the game. Maybe have forests die out because of chemicals from alien warship kill them or something (totally not making reference to backstory of Apocalypse and ending of Terror from the deep) or just be unable to have terror mission in city which was nuked because you didn't win the mission.
  7. Or capture Reaper Hive Queen. But yeah, you can explain reaper hive not getting damaged easily by claiming that it has been discovered to not take damage except for certain weakspots you must destroy to destroy the base/stop reapers from breeding. So please include it even if it means cutting out damaged tiles and such, more tilesets the better And it would actually make sense because let's face it, why the heck you would send your soldiers into hive full of aliens capable of breeding like that if you can just nuke it? (unless its underground hive... Well, I guess you could still plant nuke at entrance and cave in the hive)
  8. Ah sorry. Well, if it makes you feel better, maybe its not in final game, there weren't caesans or sebilians in that video. (potential spoiler: Or maybe it wasn't even a reaper, after all chrysalids from original game didn't look kind of monster to breed with xenomorh kind of breeding, I just assumed it was because it reminded me of zergs and since reapers too apparently have hives according to kickstarter stretch goals poll plus it was only really monstrousness one of them. Maybe they are actually the weird looking ones )
  9. UFO: Aftershock and Afterlight have drones if you really want drones(different variations, but they do include the wheel one) Though you are able to put weapons in them.

The purple thing?(I guess that is reaper if those are final designs for aliens) I blame those claw spikes things that come from back. If reaper hive is organic then you can explain its indestructibility with 1) It regenerates damage too fast 2) Its not like any enemy unit shows visible damage after getting hit 3) It just soaks up bullets and energy weapon blasts. Though I have to wonder if they are nuke immune That would be cool mission, setting up a bomb in alien hive I mean. But yeah, you could explain indestructibility to explosion damage by having pop up message(or cutscene) inform you that countries tried to bomb the hive but it didn't take visible damage, which is why you have to destroy it from inside instead of just nuking it from orbit.

Well, considering what alien hives tends to be, I guess reaper hive would have pretty gross looking fleshy/gooey look, so if they animate it to look like pulsing organ or something it would still take lots of effort. Still, more tilesets = more awesome. Even though original xcom didn't have THAT many different tilesets, it still had enough for its graphics. But since this game is newer, it would feel weird if we only have city/farm/desert/tundra/bases/"normal" wildernes =/ Though I guess if maps are varied enough, we will never notice that forests in all countries look the same But yeah, more tilesets would be awesome for the experience.

Yeah, I checked that when I was checking through them earlier, it only had casean bodies(for all types) and sebilian and human ones No other aliens, but if you feel like so you can show the pics to me ;P @Gazz: Fluff text in order to give personality to aircraft. They feel less expendable if you feel like you lose pilot instead of losing aircraft.
  14. Which is?... If you know the way, just say it and don't wait till I have time to reply If you are talking about sprites in game files, then I can say that there aren't those for non revealed aliens. Unless you are talking about alien names in sound effect files.

Well, I would be disappointed then I remembered that in original game every enemy expect for their support units(sectoids/cyberdiscs, floaters/reapers, mutons/silicoids/floating gut things, etherreals/robot reaper mech things with brains). But yeah, Androns will probably be differently colored based on type.
  16. So I googled about androns and found this (http://gaming.ngi.it/showthread.php?t=515164&page=6 scroll down). So they are green humanoid robots? Three humanoid species so far .-. I wonder rest of aliens will be the non humanoid ones.

  18. Ah, ok ._. So I've heard wrong when I heard that androns are in demo too?
  19. So I've heard that three alien species are in demo, sebilians, greys(forgot in game name) and androns. But I've played demo several times and I've never encountered them, even before time demo ends. Are they actually in game, if they are, does anyone have pics or autopsy text for them? Unless those small flying drone things are actually androns I have assumed that they are just drones since you can't capture them because they explode and because they are called "light drones" in one patch at temporary name. That and "Andron" sounds like android.

I got another proposal: If casualty rate gets higher than population of region during time Xenonaut is set in, have it be in game as alternate way of losing your funding(by having literally everyone in country being dead leading it to being ghost country ) along side with alien infiltrators taking control of the country.

There could be like that you get research item from each of different alien types' bases giving details about each invidual race's culture and when you have all of them you can research alien culture in general and after that you can research anti alien propaganda because apparently alien culture is that horrific. Anti alien propaganda research could work against alien sympathizers OR convince nations that Xenonauts is only organization capable of defeating the aliens giving you bonus to funding even if aliens kill million of people from country. Speaking of which, why do some many XCOM games and XCOM like games mention alien sympathizers without them ever actually appearing in any form?

If I remember correctly, I voted reaper hive highest, then soviet towns, then indoor missions, then military base, then pilot callsigns, female soldiers, memorial, then level designer and tall grass. I don't care about new items ones, so they are bottom of the vote. Though I included linux port and excluded psionics and blaster bombs completely because 1) Just a mod, that can be probably added later anyway 2) I don't really have nostalgia for blaster bombs as I have nostalgia for apocalypse 3) Mind control completely screwed up balance of first game, its pretty hard thing to balance right so it would end up making game too easy once you get it. But yeah, I hope all new map ones gets added in game(at least reaper hive over the military base ) even though it might require so much work that you would have to delay game or something. Well, hopefully you just happen to get that much donations that you feel obliged to do it But yeah, how well are memorial screen(I hope that screen includes picture of one of those memorial stones with names written in it, or that memorial screen IS such stone) and pilot portraits doing currently? I guess they are over the item ones at least? I personally am not sure about female soldiers actually, I mean it would be cool but I don't think there were much female soldiers during time game is set in so it needs some explanation I guess... BTW, will you guys add even more stretch goals if somehow ALL of these gets enough funding?(or if you reach million or something ) Well, if you do add ones, add feature for countries being able to use alien technology you have sold them in military missions/sometimes actually manage to shot down ufos and not always resulting in small text about ufos destroying local air forces. BTW, could you at some point post picture of reapers? I mean, its kind of hard to imagine hive(which I think would be awesome) without seeing the creature. And might make some people interested in kickstarter page if they see cool looking aliens in the thing.
  23. Yeah, they appear near UFOs. And if you look closely, each time text states casualties, casualty rate for the region/complete casualty count will rise. I love those little messages Though I wish regions would sometimes manage to shoot down ufos with their fighters and not ALWAYS fail. I mean, it would be nice if sometimes you don't have to shot down ufo to have crashed ufo mission.
  24. Ah, ok, I agree on that.(I would actually prefer just having callsign/pilot name/portrait instead of any actual skill system) Still going to be interested in how UFO: Alien Invasion is going to do the pilot skill system when they do it.
