  1. is up! We set a plan in motion for handling the alien base in southern Africa and get called to a terror mission during... the day!?Edit: is up as well as
  2. Haha, very true and I'll likely put it to vote. Simply saying "no flying unless needed" was easier to say than "no flying on potential chrysallid missions unless necessary." Actually.. that wasn't bad at all. Oh well
  3. Ep. 29 and Ep. 30 are up now! | We go from one crashed large ship to another. Can the ragtag group of rookies scrounge together enough gear to call themselves a team and handle the alien base, or will they crash and burn like the previous team, taking XCOM down with them?
  4. Episode 27 is up Things are looking grim for XCOM... the Captain is still out cold and the squad has cycled completely through to fresh rookies. There's not enough armour or weapons for everyone, and the coffers are looking pretty bare. With its first warning from the Council, can we pull through?Episode 28 is up, too ( ). One episode just didn't feel right.
  5. Episode 9! We're finishing up that first mission (alone) and start up our own minor operation in Episode 10, which is also up! Links: |
  6. Yes. XComUtil fixes the difficulty bug. Supposedly the Steam version fixes it, too, but I wasn't certain.
  7. and are up! Assaulting the newly-discovered alien base in Africa. If we lose, we'll very likely lose worldwide funding and will receive negative response from the Council; however, if we win we may be able to win back Africa, receive excellent ratings with the council, and afford a scouting base with the salvaged alien tech. It's not the end of the world if we lose, but damn it'd be nice to win this battle. The rookies could use this victory. The captain's watching from the infirmary...
  8. If you missed it, ep. 21: Episodes 22 and 23 went up just now! ^ Those are links ;P
  9. Surely some of you are curious! Any fan of XCOM should be. This playlist is COMPLETED! It took forever, but it's over now. For the sake of keeping it interesting, it was played on the hardest difficulty. The game took a good while to get going, but once it did it was... still pretty bad and lacking in most every aspect. The plot was poorly written, the voice acting was too much, the level design eventually became alright but it all felt repetitive after the umpteenth time. The battle were predictable and character development isn't even on the list. From what I understand the game was tossed from development group to development group so I can't really fault anyone for the game being mediocre. Overall, if you look past the "XCOM" in the title and look at it as a sci-fi action strategy, it's tolerable as long as you get it on sale. (YouTube)
  10. In case you missed 'em: Ep. 17: Ep. 18: And today's Ep. 19: Also Ep. 20, because I can't end the day on that note:
  11. It didn't go so well that first time, so I started over in a slightly better starting position. Same stipulations: Veteran difficulty. Ironman (no reloads). Blaster Bombs are reserved for emergencies. Flying is reserved for an otherwise impossible to reach alien. Aliens can mind control; I can only use derived defensive tech. Also, best title card ever? 12. Ep. 14 and 15 are up and good to go! All the embedding makes me feel bad for those with poor internet.. save a packet, post a URL? Ep. 14: Ep. 15:
  13. I think you meant this video: [video=youtube;LCfRQis5lWo]
  14. "Welcome folks, one and all... to let's play... until then, until then."
  15. At episode 7, right now! Second night terror mission on an otherwise dead-slow month. I'd like to say the armor will help, but.. well... let's face it. It's not REALLY protective. It's just a sales ploy to get another batch of rookies to come to our door. ROFL. I think of that almost every time
  16. And to think I almost did it but opted for UFO: Enemy Unknown because he started it first.. Well, to be fair for me it was either Aftermath, Apocalypse, or UFO Defense as they were all recommended to me. I actually rolled a D6 to decide. It felt good Kikoskia's a lot more than "just an LP'er" to me. He was one of the first LPers I found on YouTube YEARS ago. His quality is.. par, I suppose, but it's consistent and he's entertaining to watch as long as you don't take him too seriously. He's one of my go-to channels for "this was a cruddy day, I need something to distract me" because of how much he has on his channel. He's someone I'd very much like to meet, because he was one of the inspirations for my own channel. I sort of look at him as an idol, to be honest. His content's gotten me through some pretty poopy times.
  17. I am curious, then.. how do you handle the final room in bases? Send in high-TU units with stun rods?
  18. This is certainly turning into a challenge! I expect a trophy if I win
