I have not downloaded the game from desura. So desura only knows you're entitled to a copy of the game if you've downloaded it from them? What about all the people who don't like and didn't use Desura?

I'm a standard pre-order guy from the kickstarter deal. I clicked on the link. It said to create a Desura account. I did. I clicked on the link again it said to 'connect' to my game. It said I don't have a copy of the game on Desura. So, two questions....how do I get the badge. And there is a record I bought the game, yes? Thanks for any info.

Not beta 3.072.a or beta 7.04sc1. An actual 1.0 'the game is released' release. I know there are no guarantees but I'm curious about a ball park estimate. Are we talking January? January of 2014? Any idea?

Yes, you do need steam. Steam is a harmless program, I have no complaints with using it. And I'm generally very touchy about that sort of thing. By all means try Civ V now. It is a wonderful game. Highly addictive.

Civ V did not have a good launch. It took a long time to patch. But two years and one expansion later I think it's the best strategy game pretty much ever. So I figure the new X-Com will be great... by about 2014.

If I send 1 fighter it's destroyed. If I send 2, the ufo is destroyed. This went on for a few months and I kind of gave up. PS: Just did the kickstarter thing. Amazing the success, over $60k now.

Good news - the demo looks great. Bad news is it locks on me before I finish one turn. Does this run on Win7 64 bit? I'm running a very fast PC with lots of memory and a Radeon HD 6970 with the latest (todays) driver. After I move about half my squad I get noise through my speakers and the game locks. Then I have to do a hard boot. All suggestions welcome. PS: Game really does look great. I love the artwork and design. I absolutely think this could co-exist very nicely in the market with the new Firaxis game.

Guys, this is NOT a small issue. Strategy gamers are often older (I certainly am). Yet even with reading glasses and a big monitor I find about 2/3's or strategy games UNREADABLE because of the tiny fonts. Ever play Sid Meiers Railroads? Then you know what I'm talking about. It is NOT FUN AT ALL to have to stare at a screen and not be able to quickly see the info the game wants you to have. Games were more fun 15 years ago. Part of that is modern games are so busy and complicated. Hey, MORE IS LESS. Look at the Star Wars prequels. George Lucas has proven once and for all that throwing tons of crap on the screen is no substitute for good composition. Works with games the same way it works with movies. I certainly hope this text size issue doesn't get ignored.
