  1. I after a few turns, I was not able to close a door any more. I guess he broke the switch?
  2. I reloaded a combat save and instead of Androns there's sectoid corpses.
  3. Too bad I can't call for an AC-130 Spectre gunship for a little bit of close air support.
  4. Correct, the rolled up hoses I'm talking about are on the farm maps. I'm not sure which rocket launcher they are using as a basis for the one int he game (looks most like an AT-4 to me), but that should probably taken care of it.
  5. That's a lot like the magic vacuum that sucks any bullets going by one my soldiers towards them!

They call underwear "zubon" in the show, which is hilarious, because that's the word they use for pants in Japanese. In that world, underwear is the new pants!
  7. So...I just fired an rocket launcher at a rolled up hose. I assume the "blow up stuff" physics are not yet in the game?

Clearly the way that I can defeat the UFOs is with some Strike Witches!
  9. That's true, actually, the aliens' line of sigh mechanics need to be looked at.
  10. With the enhanced lethality of the fights due to accuracy increases, I find that I don't "depend" on the aliens missing all the time, but I'm reaching for "kill it before it kills me" solutions more often. For example, I had a heavily entrenched sectoid that I finally ended up shooting an explosive rocket at. He was too dangerous and the heavy cover he was in prevented me from neutralizing him in a manageable timeframe.
  11. One of the things that I noticed is that there is often a glut of new things to research and subsequently build once a new "era" hits, such as the transition between Light Scouts and Scouts, or when the medium UFOs start showing up. This is usually when you have to prioritize research, because having enough scientists on standby for the glut of new research isn't cost effective long term. Perhaps a random chance of a few different types of things showing up in each era that trigger research would make things more interesting and variable. The game bogs down a bit when I've researched all of the tech, and produced the new items, and I'm fighting UFO after UFO of the exact same two kinds of guys. This time around, the pacing seems better, as I am encountering Scouts earlier than corvettes. I'm not sure if that's simply coincidence, though.
  12. I'm finding the higher accuracy makes using shotguns pretty great. I also found that my shotgun guys become grenadiers as soon as stun weapons show up. I love opening the door and shooting a stun rocket in, then closing it. Muahahahaha! Suck gas, evildoers!
  13. I'm really enjoying the ground combat with the new accuracy settings. It feels like old X-COM. Soldiers getting caught out in the open and killed by plasma fire, sneaking up on UFOs, tossing grenades in then closing the door. Good stuff! I still think that grenades need one more square.
  14. As WalrusJones said, the costs are very high for losing even one combat. You lose 4-5 days of aircraft being able to engage UFOs. Which in this game is a 3-7 UFO wave. All of those missions complete, your funding goes down, and you lose more money. Since the penalty is so severe, what motivation do I have for "letting it play out?" To be fair, the "invincible interceptors" becomes useful is when only one of your aircraft is shot down.
  15. You know, if we could each get a little of both, that'd be awesome.
  16. This bug happens all the goddamned time. It's really bumming me out when it drops out of the game. Grr.
  17. Indeed, these guys are supposed to be badass as a private, not a dumbass as a private.
  18. So back when I was playing X-COM 1994, if I lost an Interceptor, it was bad times. I had to buy a new one, and new Avalanche missiles and such. But it wasn't a deal breaker if a UFO blew it away. I could buy a new one in two days, and the Avalanche missiles were quite good. But I kept playing. In this game, I load my save.
  19. Er...okay. I was commenting about the fact that I should have hit the guy twice out of those five shots. I didn't say anything about the quality of the weaponry...
  20. The buttons at the top were unresponsive after combat ended. Clicking on the base works, though. Saving the game and reloading it fixed it.
  21. I'm on the other side of a brick wall with no holes in it, and the aliens are shooting right at me. Even if I move between turns to a new location, they know exactly where I am.
  22. Just like the title says, if you throw one somewhere it tries to populate the sprite in an occupied space (say a rock or wall or something) and crashes to desktop.
