Geoscape is very laggy still, and I have a very fast computer. The air combat is nice and smooth, but I can never even load the ground combat it seems. I'll wait awhile longer to see if it loads it though, then edit this with result. EDIT: Never loaded, just said "Loading... This make take awh-" then before I finished reading it, it black screened.

With the new update, you can't even open the game. It just closes unexpectedly.

A problem I found is, when engaging in battle it says the usual, "this may take awhile", but then it black screens. I've waited for awhile and it still hasn't loaded. Also the game goes from very laggy to super fast. I am on a 2008, Mac OSX Version 10.8 with a 2.8 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo.
