[1.65/X.CE V0.35.0] X-Division 1.00 Beta (1.00.11c)
Ion Mage replied to Charon's topic in Completed Game Mods
Actually I was just about to suggest 'Experimental'. More self-explanatory, and even established terminology in quite a few circles, too. -

Hiding it will probably cut down on the number of people asking for support that they believe themselves entitled to, but also increase the number of people asking for access to the latest version. Which of those scenarios bother you more is a judgement call for you to make. Personally, I accepted that you make no obligations regarding the unofficial versions once that was made clear. But I would also most certainly have asked for access if it was hidden. Furthermore, more people playing the unofficial release means more eyes to spot any bugs, balance issues, etc, but given your policy of official detachment, I don't know how valuable that is to you. But since you asked, If I were hypothetically in your shoes I'd keep them public, but then I am not in your shoes. -

What is it you can't see? I don't quite get your meaning. -

Shouldn't it be 1.00.11 or some such? I get that its unofficial, but having two versions of the same name strikes me as a recipe for potential confusion. -

So amidst the chaos, I'll try and change the subject. How is the next version coming along? I remember seeing a video showing a checklist for captured alien types, so I know something exists. Its been a few weeks since, so I'm left wondering just where exactly things are. Not asking for a precise ETA, I get that its a spare time project, just trying to get a sense for it. -

Xenopedia error; The ceasan light scout operator interrogation report has a paragraph at the end about having a green skin when engaged, but which turned pink on capture. I think that was meant for the Sebillian equivalent :P. -

Downloaded 1.00.10, and I got a proper avalanch description. Might be good to edit the instructions in this topics OP, it lists 1.00.01 as most recent, currently. Anyways, thanks. -

Just did that actually. Same outcome. Not only uninstalled, but completely wiped the xenonauts directory, and redownloaded it entirely. I have applied the latest x-division patch too. I don't presume I need to subscribe to the steam workshop entry for x-division, correct? Its description seems to indicate its only there to advertise the mod's existence, since workshop doesnt let you post 6.6gb mods, so I doubt it, but its all I can think to ask at the moment. Edit: Just took a look inside the xenopedia.xml file from the extracted installer (for both the core mod as well as the patch), and it seems that the description just says 'description' there as well; <Row ss:Height="51"> <Cell ss:StyleID="s72"><Data ss:Type="String">AV.AVALANCHE</Data></Cell> <Cell ss:StyleID="s73"><Data ss:Type="String">Avalanche Torpedo</Data></Cell> <Cell ss:StyleID="s73"><Data ss:Type="String">xenopediaimages/avalanche_torpedo</Data></Cell> <Cell ss:StyleID="s73"><Data ss:Type="String">Aircraft Torpedo</Data></Cell> <Cell ss:StyleID="s73"><Data ss:Type="String">ACW</Data></Cell> <Cell ss:StyleID="s73"><Data ss:Type="String">Description</Data></Cell> </Row> So, I don't think its a botched install. Did I get the wrong patch? I have the 1.00.01 patch, which as far as I can tell is the most recent one. -

Sorry, but what latest file, and where? Couldn't find anything in the OP/install instructions (assuming you were talking to me). -

I did start the game once before installing. Fresh install, too, unsubbed from steam workshop mods as well. -

Newbie to this mod here, sorry if its been asked before but a quick search turned up nothing. I just got the first lore report on the caesan guard corpse, and the avalanche torpedo, and both of their xenopedia entries just say 'description', nothing else. Is this normal, or the sign of something like a bad installation/setup? -
I'm getting the same things Valerian is, minus the crash. The lack of weapon stats tooltips is actually kind of a dealbreaker for me, please tell me this is a bug and not intentional. I also got the improper rifleman loadout that valerian describes, though thats something I can live with (by making my own loadouts ). This is on a fresh CE install. Only other mods I have are the ambient noise pack that Grimples made, and your own Enhanced Crash Sites.

Caesans have buggy sight detection ?
Ion Mage replied to silencer's topic in X:CE General Discussion
So... anyone have any insight on whether this is (ab)normal, or whats causing it? I want to play this again, but the ironman in me can't stand the idea of reloading because a bug like this got my team killed . -
Caesans have buggy sight detection ?
Ion Mage replied to silencer's topic in X:CE General Discussion
I've been having lots of trouble with Caesans being able to shoot well beyond my own guys' sight ranges, in broad daylight. I play ironman, but I have a save of the game from just after it happened 3 times. As in, I was shot at 3 times, from mostly different angles, in just the immediately previous alien turn. This save is made using CE .31HF1, and I run FITH, all three of Kabill's map packs which ship with standard CE, and a few visual mods which probably won't affect compatability (Real Fighters, Military Colors, and Lore+ spring to mind) Caesan Sight Range.sav Caesan Sight Range.sav
