  1. I noticed that this game has a lot more going for it in the geoscape section. There is tons of activity and things to consider, aliens react much more properly in the geoscape than in the older Xcom titles. I suggest building at least 4 hangars and a second base, try to get a good mix of different planes and try to shoot as many aliens downs at possible. Split up your jets and try to get a maximum of them. Building a second base in a different continent will also help tremendously, just picking off ufos and airstriking the crashsites (if you don't have the soldiers) helps out a lot.
  2. I noticed this aswell. Apparently during crash missions the AI decides to let some units out for scouting and the rest stays in the ship, preparing for the last stand. It's really awesome for the first few times but I think that it gets tedious really fast. After killing few aliens outside you always kind of know that the last ones are hunkered down in the ship. A bit more variety in their behaviour would be neat. Also having multiple entries in a ship would neat (although the biggest ship that I downed was a corvette). Storming an ufo is always a difficult but tedious task. It would definitely spice up the gameplay a bit if not every alien is in the ship. In the old Xcom games, the AI had a tendency to go out a lot more. A positive aspect is that the alien hunt for the last remaining enemy is far shorter, usually you know that the last alien is hidden in the downed ship.
  3. I think there are many little details that clearly show that this is a labor of love kind of game. It's amazing and I'm having a blast. The music is really great and so are the small details that you encounter everywhere in this game.
  4. Sebilians are tough and pretty difficult in packs. They're a pain to deal with inside of UFOs and I believe they might regenerate hp to fast but I don't know if I just suck at this game.
  5. When reading this thread I feel bad for Firaxis. A lot of members here seem to dislike Enemy Unknown despite it being a really awesome game, even if it's not identical to the older X-Coms. I still enjoyed that game a lot. I'm also on the verge of buying Xenonauts, I don't know if I should wait until there are more patches out there.
  6. It's nice to hear that you guys feel like Xenonauts has been a success for you. I wonder how it did financially and if it was worth all the effort.
  7. Thanks for the fast reply, I haven't been on this forums since months. I was just wondering if the game runs well on my laptop and with a somewhat decent resolution. Also I did not expect a demo this fast Great work guys!
  8. Hello everyone, I was wondering if the graphical options are fully customizable, especially the resolution. Will there be a way to use every resolution available or adapt it to my screen? I have a 1366x768 screen on my laptop, I do not want to play this game with annoying bars. Also will there be a demo near release? Thanks everyone!
  9. Yeah, people tend to pay far less for Humble packs in general. It can be considered as a last resort. Introversion Software was on the verge to shut down their studio due to some massive financial issues. The Humble Bundle gave them a good boost.
  10. I am not sure, maybe when the game gets older and it needs some new attention/advertisment. For instance Introversion Software regained a lot attention and all that because they had a Humble Bundle pack. If they are already in a pack near the release, this chance later on whould already be gone because they were already in a Humble Bundle Pack. Besides we do not know if the Humble Bundle pack is profitable for the Xenonauts team. Although I do not know how this is handled financial wise.
  11. I get your point, but there are also tons of Skyrim LPs around. It is a story driven base and you are pretty much spoiled. Nevertheless people watch them. Is just has to be there on the internet. Maybe like 6 videos of 15 minutes about core gameplay and some other stuff. Not a fullfledged LP.
  12. Maybe the at the beginning the the Xenonauts team could research some military doctrines or something similiar which would then give a bonus to certain things.
  13. The assumption that a Minecraft player could not really play Xenonauts is dumb. There are tons of good LPs who play games like Minecraft, Terraria or Mario and still manage to play complex strategy games. I think every advertisement is good. For instance the Yogscast are terrible at playing games but they have a huge fanbase. Although I get your point.
  14. This might be directly related to the ingame mechanics and developement but I just wanted to share this idea with you guys. How about getting some famous "Let's player" to play and show your game? Once it is in polished enough for a good playthrough that is. I really think that LPs are a new and effective medium to advertise a game. Personally a lot of unknown, yet awesome games has come to my attention by different Let's play channels on youtube. For instance the Indie game "Terraria" benefited a lot by letting some LPers access to a preview version before the actual release. For instance channels like: The Yogscast, TotalBiscuit, AngryJoe, PaperBatVG, GetDaved, Quill18 and many more. Thoes guys do a real good job on presenting and showing off the game. The preview of TotalBiscuit is already pretty great! Just an idea I wanted to share, any thoughts on this? Maybe I forgot an important aspect. Keep up the good work!
