1 squadron CTD after 2nd engagement

I had one very small UFO sighted, so i scrambled 3x F-17 to engage... They kill it only with auto cannons, then i had a second spotting of a very small with 2x very small escorts. So i sent the same squadron directly to the second dogfight (so not going back to base between the 2 engagements)...

No matter what happens the game CTD's when the engagement is over.

I went back a save and sent the planes home, refueled and sent them to the fight... This solved the problem for me, but you should be able to have multiple engagements without returning to base if you have enough fuel and ammo...
