This means that they do not get reaction fire, because they cannot see attackers. Save game: http://ge.tt/6SUxQZh1/v/0 As you can see in the save, there are two aliens that are facing away from the main UFO entrance. Even if you move the two soldiers that reveal them away a bit and end the turn, they'll face the same wrong direction the next turn again.
