I live in an area where getting internet for pc is both problematic and expensive.I've been trying to download X:CE 0.30 HF1 but my phone won't let me due to file size too large for it to handle. If anyone is feeling particularly kind and helpful and is bored at the moment, can you split the release into 3 or 4 parts and upload it somewhere? (mediafire works but only with direct links to the file OR dropbox, these 2 i know my phone is compatible with). Post links here or pm me. Thank you. EDIT: fixed formatting, hopefully. I was playing xenonauts vanilla for a while and i started to get sick and tired with some bugs and some of the "features" it has or lack of them until i stumbled upon X:CE ... This is a dream come true! Ill be grateful if someone would help me. That is if its possible, maybe you can't upload it elsewhere due to copyright or something ... I dunno. kabill Posted October 27, 2014 Share Posted October 27, 2014 What's your max download size? A lot of XCE's download size is because it included game .exe files which can't be split. So the key question is whether you'd be able to download the executable by itself. If that's looking possible, I can split it out for you and upload bits separately. I remember that i once tried to dl a file of about 40 MB and it downloaded to about 20 and then stopped with a "download failure" message so i assumed that was the limit. Recently tho i tried dling a pdf of about 9MB and it wouldn't even start and all it said was "failure" which is vague but it usually means size is too large. (i tried other downloads with files over 9 MB and they didnt worked either) However, I know for a fact that i can dl files up to 3 MB (maybe even 4), i very often download such files. So, I've archived my xenonaut exe using winrar with normal compression and it ended up with 2.45 MB and thats good. So one way would be to archive the different exes separately and then the rest of files while keeping archive size bellow 3-4 MB (preferably 3) and upload it. Code99 Posted October 27, 2014 Author Share Posted October 27, 2014 The downloads worked perfectly! I've installed the mod and started a new game and as far as i can see it works. I mean the casualties tab in the barracks seems to be there. Now something i dont understand, i was under the impression that i would see the expanded radar ranges when founding a new base, i dont have those. I dont really care for them but if this feature ain't working for whatever reason, others might not too? Or maybe im doing this wrong ... Ideas? kabill Posted October 27, 2014 Share Posted October 27, 2014 Those extra features are in separate downloads - if you look on the 'downloads' page on the forums and go to he community edition tab, you'll see 'xce balance' and 'xce settings' downloads which contain the tweaks needed to activate things like the radar range displays. I've downloaded both balance and settings but i can't open them, it tells me the archive is either corrupt/damaged or incomplete . I've downloaded them twice using 2 different browsers but same thing happened in both cases. I really dunno why its doing this ... Also the file size ends up bigger tan it should after download. (eg. Xceballance.zip is listed as having 2.xx Kb but i downloaded 12 ... Im thinking that i should throw away this phone) Could you dl them for me and if they work fine for you, could you upload them to dropbox? Dont have to be two separate files, can merge them if you want (it can even be 7zip, i have that too).
