Questions on Soldier Stats

I just have a couple of questions on the soldiers' stats. Can anyone help me out?

1) All of my soldiers seem to stop gaining strength at 76. Before every mission, I always carefully load them all up until they can carry no more without penalty. They gain strength rapidly until they hit 76 and can carry 30 kg. Why don't they go higher?

2) Medals are supposed to give bravery boosts, but I have not seen it work. For example, I sent a soldier with 47 bravery on a terror mission. During the mission, he panicked once, and he got the appropriate stat boost at the end. He also got a medal or two though, and when I checked on him later, he only had 48 bravery. He should have had 49 or 50. Are the medal bonuses applied after the "natural" bravery is considered, so that total bravery is not displayed?

You have to push them further and gain a penalty to get them to go further than that I believe. I always go one or two into penalty land unless they have low TUs as well.

I followed your advice and it worked. Thanks. It's strange, because elsewhere on the web and in the gameconfig file, it states that you only need to load your soldiers up to 80% of their maximum carry weight (without penalty) to increase their strength.

I don't know about the config files, not having played with them, but everyone that watches me told me, you have to overload them.

Maybe it changed at some point and the game config files never were updated to reflect that?
