  1. I am not going to add enough poll options to cover every eventuality (later game difficulty increase, terror mission vs crash site) so please expound on your response! I used to restart an Ironman file if I lost 2 soldiers. At all. I've only recently gotten over this perfectionism, so my Ironman file has only recently gotten to Plasma tech (usually skip lasers). I generally don't lose anyone in most missions, but if I do, it's usually some catastrophic mistake (misfired rocket, complacently misplaced smoke) that gets 1 person killed and another 1 or 2 severely wounded or killed. What about you? Friendly fire from 90 degrees getting you down? Reaction fire rushing in the UFO front door turning your Colonel Sanders into chicken chow?
  2. I'm just wondering how many soldiers people lose per mission on Veteran difficulty level? At the moment I am mostly losing 1 but sometimes 0 or 2. This may improve when I get my armour but then again the aliens will probably be tougher at that point.
  3. I had a soldier whom I was sure was dead, I could have sworn he was listed as KIA. When I got to the mission screen, I had a -2 points on my score for 2 Xenonauts casualties. However, when I went to the soldier development screen, I believe it said "soldier recovered" over his head, he was at 2 % HP, and promoted, given the medal for suffering a grievous wound in the service of humanity, etc, etc. it was AWESOME! Does anyone know how likely this is? Or was he never dead to begin with, just stunned? Also, if he was stunned, how? This was literally my first mission on a new play-through with the new patch, and he wasn't hit by any flashbangs or anything like that. (the other casualty was just dead, poor guy, but nothing surprising there)
  4. Hello, here we are going to talk about the wonderful, happy topic of your civilian death toll! For those who don't know, there is a tally the game takes that shows the number of global civilian deaths from events(and in missions) along with per nation funding block. right now my global death is at 2697 civilians/xenonauts/local forces in month december . whats your number and month you're in?
  5. Is it a bug or is it left like that for whatever (easier testing?) purposes intentionally? I remember this happening way back in october, kinda weird that it hasnt been fixed yet... surely this bug has been reported countless times. What happens is my guys get killed in combat but i can see them in med bay with the "wounded for 17 days" status.
  6. There's been a lot of discussion recently in this forum about our little solider boys, and I was especially intrigued by the discussions on personal attachment and involvement with soliders and training and recruitment. These thoughts lead to me thinking about "so what happens to dead soldiers?". Well, in every other tactical strategy game like xenonauts they get swept into the great digital beyond to compare notes with all the aliens they've sent there already. Would it not be lovely if the soliders that died didn't stay dead? That there was a percentage chance of dead soliders being whisked off by the alien scum and turned into cyborged zombies, that come back and attack the players own troops! Never mind the soliders, could you imagine the shock on a player's face if a solider he had been especially attached to was brought back from the dead to serve the aliens? I then went back and read the discussion on palette swaps. Oy vey. And I realised that this idea wasn't going to happen, not without a lot of effort and man-hours that don''t exist. So yeah, put this one on the nice to have pile... possibly for future DLC?
