  1. So i have modified game to my liking and everything is now absolutely awesome. I totally did not expect all the assets to be so open and editing friendly. So now only thing that remains is answer to my question about IronMan mode posted above
  2. Great idea! I had no idea resources of the game are not compiled in some files. I am gonna mod the shit out of it!
  3. Hi, i would like to ask if air combat music is final one. I honestly hope not, because it is absolutely terrible. Every time i hear it i get so frustrated i have to exit the game immediately. It would not even fit amateur Japanese MMORPG, let alone an Xcom game. I wanted to simply resolve it by disabling ingame music and playing my own, but even when i roll music volume slider to minimum, music still plays (probably bug).
  4. I got one more... When playing IronMan mode, how does saving work? I can not save manually, and i have absolutely no idea when autosaves occur. If i am in a middle of mission, and i have to quickly do something else, if i shut down the game, will it save, or will i lose my progress? Same question goes for geoscape...
  5. Are you sure you have read the posts above correctly? It is not geoscape it is being talked about. Geoscape looks just fine... dark, moody and cozy... It is the other screens that look too bright and happy that they pull you right out of the immersive mood this game should have. Screens like base, loadout, research, workshop, etc... White is not the major color there, and it really does not fit the tone of the game.
  6. Ok, so i tried to reload last save, then did the same thing again, managed to get my dropship shot down, and it happened again. Then i noticed something. In launch screen, the health of my dropship was updating properly, and when i arrived at ground mission, my soldiers had full health even though they were reported to be still injured on the loadout screen. So the issue seems to be with updating of the new UI, rather than the stats themselves. Once dropship returned from the mission, it reported correct health, and so did the soldiers. This could help narrow down the source of that issue.
  7. Hi, my dropship got recently shot down, and i am cleaning up the mess but i get a strong headaches because i can not figure out a lot of things. 1, Dropship got recovered, and stays in my hangar with 1% health. It has passed 20 days, and nothing changed. I do not see any option to manually repair the dropship anywhere. 2, Some of the soldiers got recovered, but on the loadout screen it says their health is not 100%, but somewhere around 90's of percent... i have med center, it has passed 20 days, but nothing about soldiers health changes, they still show up red and without full health. I did not find any option to manually heal them. Is there any proper manual (not just that quick start guide in the launch window), so i can find these things out without posting on the forum everytime i get headache out of non self-explanatory features of the game. (Which is of course a big mistake because user interface should be always self-explanatory enough)
  8. The layout is good indeed... i am talking about the colors... The entire game should have some form and atmosphere, and i am not sure that bright environment really fits the atmosphere of the game...
  9. Hi, i am new to Xenonauts although i have a long history of playing the good old DOS Xcom games. I bought Xcom remake as soon as it got released, and as many others, i too was very disappointed. So when i came across Xenonauts, i was truly impressed by the game building upon base blocks of legacy Xcom games. I bought Xenonauts on steam when V19 was going on, and recently got updated to V20. I have to say i am extremely disappointed by the new, bright user interface. Sure it puts a lot of strain on to the eyes, especially if you got big good bright IPS screen, but that is not the main problem. The whole tone on the Xcom games was always very dark, tense and and quiet. I remember old times playing UFO Enemy Unknown and i was always deeply immersed as long as i was inside of the game, and never got distracted by anything that would not fit the style. In Xenonauts, i managed to get over the fact that artworks of Xcom soldiers are extremely ugly, as well as their armors, and that aliens are wearing pajamas... it took me some time to make my mind ignore it, but eventually i did. Unfortunatelly, new bright UI is not the case, as much as i try to get deep into the game, which works as long as i look at nice detailed geoscape surrounded by dark, unobtrusive UI, as soon as i get into any screen with the new Cool hip super bright Apple MacBook awesome look designed by a cool designer that likes to wear shirts of vivid colors with funny motives, and hipster glasses, all of the game's immersion is very quickly gone. EDIT: Forgot to add that current design of Unselected buttons, for example in loadout screen, makes them appear as frozen (grayed out) and therefore unclickable. That may confuse a lot of people, as it defies basic UI design principals
