  1. Uh-huh, and like you say this kind of scale cannot be recreated in the game.... so in the scale that is actually being used, the OP's suggestion would make better sense than the current set-up.
  2. The inventory represents a soldier's capacity to carry something, not just their pockets, genius.
  3. So a non-cpmbatant alien is actually a combatant alien who.... got different equipment? Is that it? My impression of them was that they were alien civilians, or Engineers, Navigators, Pilots or some other kind of technician/specialist. In which case, no, they wouldn't have the same level of training or ability as proper, dedicated soldiers.
  4. Yeah I don't think a lot of these changes were thought out very well. Plus non-coms are just that - Non-Combatants. They should not be as skilled as the proper Combatants. They should have less health, bad accuracy and be generally unthreatening.
  5. So has there been any thoughts on this? I'd like there to be the possibility of capturing an Alien by having it in one of your soldier's inventory, stunned at the end of a mission. This way you could do an Alien Base mission quickly by blowing the core and still have captured that Praetor..... without having to kill every last Alien. The way it is now, the game crashes if it tries to load a save with an Alien in somebody's inventory.
  6. Aaaahhhhh I hadn't researched the precision plasma or battle rifle yet. Thanks!
  7. So, how do you research these? I read on a Xenonauts wiki somewhere that you need the "Kinetic Shield". I've not found one of them though. Was it taken out of v20?
  8. You didn't read my post properly. I suggested the Psionic powers be improved and their effects expanded, IN ADDITION to them being limited to Line of Sight of the Alien OR a radius around the Alien. Again, this would further encourage the use of cover as well as making Psionic attacks actually threatening in some way. As for the berserking rocket guy, well sh*t happens. Deal with it. Might be an interesting way to balance Xenonauts using rockets to get easy wins. Enforce consequences on attempts at cheesing it. Just a thought.
  9. Androns maybe should be all Armour with average or low hit points. As an aside, I'm still seeing Androns take cover. I believe they shouldn't, is that correct? They can't be suppressed now though so that's good. Sebillians should have high hit points to reflect their innate toughness with a little armour for the higher tiered guys. Caesans should be relatively frail, even the elites. Perhaps spawn more of them to balance this..... or give them more access to their special troops: Wraiths, Psions. I think Psionics in this game should do more. A chance every turn to have some of my guy's TUs reduced is not that big a deal really. Perhaps if being Panicked or Berserked were added to the possible Psionic effects it'd be better. Also, the area of effect for Psionics seems to be the entire map: if it were restricted to a radius or Line of Sight then I think this would be an improvement also. Make it deadlier, but also make it easier to avoid. This would make Praetors a lot more intimidating.
  10. Hang on, that brings me to a page full of text. What do I do with that? Copy+paste it into something?
  11. That's nothin'. One time in a Carrier crashsite I had SIX Andron Warriors and TWO Harridans all spawned into the 1st floor teleport room of the Ufo. Imagine how many grenades that results in. They were aggressive too: they'd come out of the room, throw a grenade and then just stand there. What I had to do in the end is retreat a couple rooms south and reaction fire them as they emerged, one by one. Was very frustrating. Even the last 3-4 could only be taken down by smoke + rocket spam.
