Hey guys. A small scout landed and I sent a squad after it. My scout car passed through a wall without damaging it. On the pic you can see that it has just passed and crushed some obstacle on the other side. When the mission was over, the game was frozen in time. I could use all the buttons and go in and out of base view, but time did not pass and my plane did not move back to base. I quit the game, and when I tried to load the save (insane) my cpu froze and I had to restart it. It seems I can't post my save file and screenshot. If you would like them give me an address and I can mail them. So, until next version

Ok

And now I can't load my game, just crashes to desktop. So I guess that's that for this version. If only I could hold out for the final finished game

"Other mission, end turn and one guy is stuck and cant move, only turn." this happened next to a wall that was destroyed and then seemed to get rebuild, but then be invisible.

Hey, thought I'd give the whole interceptor thing a rest and get back to testing 1) Quit a mission on "insane" and when I loaded it again one of my men was stuck in a haystack, could turn but not move. Other mission, end turn and one guy is stuck and cant move, only turn. 2) When I get back to the geoscape the base buttons does not work. I have to click on the base, and inside the base the base buttons work. 3) 2 crashes so far. One on intercepting a ufo, and one when I get back to geoscape from base view. 3) Bug or normal? I just messed up a mission and got several of my guys killed, but back in base their jackal armour was in the base inventory for me to give to others. Surely they should have been destroyed with the men? My scout car gets blown to smithereens but still respawns a few times in the base.

Interceptor immortality, what a great idea!

I don't agree with anything you say, Lightzy. You are only rambling now to protect your messy immortal interceptor idea. There have been some good suggestions put out there. On "insane" I do think that the air combat should have a major impact on the game. Your losses should hurt and affect your finances. I put my vote on; 1) Make interceptors cheaper/faster to produce. 2) Reward for when one shoots down alien fighters, direct or via funding from the country that it is shot down over. -

Because then you can choose not to use it. And others can use the pink "Sissy" button!!! -
Yepp, works for me. Hardcore faction rules! But it should be bright pink and called; "the sissy button" >

Interceptor immortality, what a great idea!

ThothKins: "Geoscape balance thread in the Beta forum" I'm starting a revolution! At the time and place of my choosing! Mr. Lock: 1)This is not a rage, it's a whine. 2)I understand the situation perfectly. Realism? I never said anything about that. "Now on the realistic part...Would you imagine that when a human pilot is shot down he just gets simply destroyed? I don't think so...I mean there is always that emergency landing when the plane is smoking for the pilot to know when to disengage." Err why don't you put down your tube of glue, please. 3)As earlier stated, this is a whine O'l Stinky: Well, you still have the alien base/terror missions. And you can sell equipment. Sure things get serious, but that's the fun part. As to Cow probing? Well, they had it coming, dressing like that DNK: You are a scholar and a gentleman. I agree wholeheartedly. You should run for president(of the company). -
Geoscape Balance Discussion v19 Experimental Build 3

No...damn...Interceptor...immortality -
Interceptor immortality, what a great idea! Here is another; that the Xenonauts don't die, but go to sleep. Then, after a nappy change and some hot coco, their momma can give them a kiss and they can go outside to play with the aliens again. Here is another; why don't you drop Goldhawk, and change your name to 3K games? This is the first speed bump for me, and its a large one, a deal breaker in fact. I though this was going to be a hard game with hard decisions. Interceptor immortality, not only makes it way too easy, but is an direct insult. Seems like the developers are starting to cater to the people who prefer a "streamlined" game. And no, I don't want to manually decommission a downed plane in order so simulate how the game should work. If this is an option or not implemented for "insane" then fine. If recovery happens a few times on "insane" fine. If not, It's GAME OVER for me. How's that for a rant/terrifying ultimatum?

Base attack mission is very hard
Gordon replied to wongjoe05's topic in Xenonauts General Discussion
Use gas grenades or rpg with gas, works like a charm, even on hardest difficulty. "mission impassible" Why, were the doors locked? -
Sweet, thanks
-
So you want to increase the cash flow in the game, but still have the same bottom line? "Just making the player weaker by reducing money... makes things weaker." I don't agree. Not that the game would be better/worse, its a matter of preference. I think it adds stress/tension to have a hard time financially. Getting a lot of stuff, whistles and bells, to fight a harder foe would clash with my Spartan sensibilities. No, my Xenonauts have to fight dressed in rags, armed with peashooters, I'm afraid Perhaps the difficulty settings should have more options, so you could tailor suite your game. Like in the anno series, you could set everything on very hard, but still have the "money" setting on generous.
-
Well, on "insane" you should always be near broke and scraping by. That's the fun of it, having more money would spoil it for me
-
Hey, I was trying to make the game more difficult, dammit No extra money/bonuses
