And now, after a few moves on of only saving when one of my interceptors is airborne, its all working fine again and I can save even while they are landed at my base....

I have tried several times now and its the same every time - as soon as my interceptors get back to base, any subsequent saves are corrupt and cause CTD.

But if I then relaunch them and save, its fine. Seems to just be when the interceptors are landed.

Actually, I just need to have one of them launched and I can save the game fine so I guess that's my workaround - only save while an interceptor from my second base it in the air

I had the same problem, and that was after my tank had rammed the door in and knocked it off its hinges!

I found deleting the jpg file worked a charm

Have an issue with saved games being corrupt again (different reason to last time I think). Here is what seems to happen and some facts:
Its December
A UFO appeared near my second Central American base
I launched interceptors to take it down but before they reached it, it landed (green landed icon)
I sent out my Chinook and recalled my interceptors (bold I know!)
No interceptors are damaged.
This is where it gets interesting...
1. If I save before my interceptors make it to base, all is well
2. If I save 1 second later, after they land in my base, the game is corrupt.
3. If I land them and take off again, then save, the save file is fine.
Is this known?

I had exactly this and it only happened when a soldier was injured. With no injured soldiers anywhere, it worked fine

Personally I think the development team needs to turn back this change *asap*.
But as long as they don't have do I create, know where to place, and have a workable *work-arround* for the transparancy screen?! So that I may see them aliens pop caps at my troops once more ?!
Try this:
1. Go here /assets/gui/groundcombat/hiddenmovement
2 .Rename the hiddenmovement.jpg to oldhiddenmovement.jpg and give that a go.

Question as the title - what do they look like? The small army defending the last room are cutting my troops down so I suspect I may need a different approach!

Eek what happened? I didn't mind the hidden movement full screen which disappeared when an enemy strayed into view. It's taken a step backwards - now I cannot see where they are shooting from at all! Half the time, I need to do a scan through the squad to see if anyone was actually hit or not!

As an aid to hidden movement, it might be interesting for your soldiers to pick up on noises behind them, inside buildings etc. Perhaps when they hear gunfire, it could place a marker in the general area where they heard it to indicate where the aliens might be?
For Christmas or my Birthday, I would also like one of the following:
1. A snake camera that I can feed through a door before breaching
2. New mission types - rescue the abductee's, destroy the comms radar/turret, recover intel, recon the area etc.
3. Stims (similar to some other posts I have seen)
4. Androids - maybe they come later, who knows!
5. Drones to scout out the landing area later on, or motion sensors

Unsure if anyone else posted but mods for items (weapon and armour) would be interesting. Scopes, silencers, extended magazines, stabalisers, mounts for larger machine guns to name a few and corresponding research for them also.

I think its simply due to the weapons window in aircombat being the way it is. It is designed for 2 missiles and a cannon, or 4 missiles, so if it was simply removed it would look weird and/or crash.
Im not sure I follow. Should the foxtrot have 2 or 4 slots then? The in game encyclopaedia entry mentions it doesn't have a cannon so assumed it had 4 slots to make up for that. Annoying at the moment because I really want more torps loaded to take on the larger vessels, or at least the bigger missiles and not sidewinders in the other slots

OK I pinned down the problem.
I am transferring two soldiers to my second base in America. If I save the game after doing this, the save is corrupt...
/edit: Consistent, every time. Save before transfer, everything is fine. Make the transfer, save is corrupt immediately after
* This happens if I transfer just 1 soldier also

Next step is to shoot down a medium ufo in America using my outlying base interceptors, but its too far away from my first base where my Chinook is based to investigate.

Just reloaded my last workable save (I keep a rolling 5 saves). It's November 15th, I have two bases and just researched Corsair and Scimitar

Whenever I save a game after a point, I am unable to reload said save game. This is consistent now on 8 saves meaning that I effectively can no longer progress.
/edit: After some experimenting, I pinned this down to transferring troops. If I save after transferring just a single soldier, that Save ceases to work.
/edit 2: Bit more checking - this seems to only happen if I have an injured soldier on my roster

This removed the dmg numbers appearing but read through the thread and there is a fix for the fix in there.

Title says it all really? Is it possible/worth it? Electro nades don't seem to stop them so it might be I resort to the shock-jocks again. Anyone know if stun batons work?
