  1. Personally I want a rooster where the females work harder (post 2) There are very little differences between men and women mainly a wo at the front, a bit like females and males its just a fe that makes the difference so I cant see what all the fuss is about. The above statement replaced what was originally typed to avoid sexist comments etc etc.
  2. Possible missions that could help with diversity: Re-secure area 51, it has been over run since the attack Raid alien installations for additional weaponry Destroy the alien beacons to delay inevitable attacks rescue leading scientists to add to your science team Protect/clear military bases locate ancient artifact before the aliens do eat all the dots before the ghosts get ya waka waka waka
  3. Sorry I left out: rename all men (soldiers of mixed sex) to names that Im familiar with, including but not limited to frends family and famous people
  4. Squad organization the armadillo style: First get rid of any tanks or vehicles Second hire as many men as possible Third put about 8-12 men on the whirlybird Fourth Replace all shotguns with M16's and anybody who can carry big guns gets a big gun (LMG or Sniper) Fifth go kill aliens and gain skills, vehicles dont gain skill so I dont use em Nobody gets left behind...
  5. The differences: Micropros XCOM:UFO Enemy Unknown - brilliant, deep, thought provolking but dated Fraxis XCOM Enemy Unknown - Pretty, looks good, graphics are nice, pleasing to the eyes but about as deep as a puddle Goldhawks Xenonauts - Has the potential to be as brilliant and deep as the original in an up to date kind of way. Namco PACMAN - Waka waka waka
  6. Xcom:Enemy unknown, funny thats what the original was called well in my country it was... I bought Xenonauts played the beta (loads) found out about Xcom:EU from one of our beloved leaders posts (Something like "I chose this date as the fraxis game comes out the day after and I'll be playing that for a while") I then looked it up and pre ordered that on steam My thoughts: Fraxis - XCOM:Enemy Unknown The game is very pretty but bloody frustrating (why when you see an enemy does he get the chance to run away or take cover and yet when an enemy sees me he shoots first and why does the enemy hit you with 75% of shots yet your team repeatedly misses) Original XCOM:Enemy Unknown (AKA UFO Defence) Brilliant game that takes years off your life just by playing the game and loosing time a bit too dated now and difficult on the eyes... Xenonauts: The potential to be what XCOM the original should be like today but with out the pretty graphics we have come to expect.(nothing against the xenonauts graphics) Loads more to say about the fraxis game but can't be arsed
  7. Cant wait for the end of the week, glad to see the change of pace "developing Xenonauts quickly" however I can wait a little longer to have a finished Xenonauts!
  8. Hi, I hope to god the finished product doesn't have rediculously stupid amount of files, it takes far too long to install, uninstall, move and copy around your hard disk. if it does I'll give my premium preorder to somebody else. I have a small but very fast SSD and I move my games to and from mass storage rather than keep installing and uninstalling them, at the moment I just delete xenonautes and wait for the next release because moving 80k files is stupid, I can install UFO Defence from steam from fresh in less that 2 minutes (yes its tiny I know) the new UFO:EU is massive at 13+gigs and contains less that 3.5k files but takes less time to move about than the 1.8gig xenonauts. I am sorry but in my mind if you can't consolidate the files then a different game engine that can is the only way forward, it would seem that the game engine isn't up to the task what with issues with multi level ufo's and stuff. Back in my game programming days I used to write the math formulas that worked out where the needed graphics tile would be in a single file and move it to the correct display address, that was over 20 years ago (things have indeed moved a long way since then). I remember the days of installing MS Office 4.2 that came on 28 plus floppy disks and took most of a morning to complete, please dont let this happen to Xenonauts I am so looking forward to playing the finished product over and above the new fancy 3d UFO:EU that I've finished and I'm already bored of (played the Xenonauts beta's for longer than UFO:EU) Thanks, Grumpy old git... Update: I am being really thick here and a 'grumpy ole git' I dont know why I'm being so stupid when I have four other PC's in my house not to mention my laptop, the last place this game will probably end up is my main gaming PC cus I can only play that while in my Computer/Smoking room, I can sneek one of my smaller PC's down to the living room a psss the mrs off!
