  1. I've tried playing the game in Normal but in Ironman mode and got an extended (not to say overwhelming) amount of enemy fighters in Air Superiority missions. And most of the times they came in squadrons of 3! I must admit I really enjoyed the air combat UI....and really appreciated the F-17 autocannon!!! But, since I got so many enemy fighters, I ended up loosing planes, money and nearly a C-17 cargo plane (which by the way is a great idea to actually see the transfer of materials and having to support it!), I think that there should be some reward to the fighter's crash. Maybe for example, downed fighters would randomly crash instead of being destroyed on air! So we can salvage same Allien Alloys, Allenium and/or alien guns for profit and not to mention experience for the troops if the alien pilot survived... [The fact is that I didn't make it to the end of second month yet, so I don't know if the reward of shooting of alien fighters is implemented in the funding of the Nations. Could anyone enlighten me on that matter?]
  2. Whenever I launch a Squadron to intercept alien fighters eventually they will change their direction to engage. If I land the squadron, the enemy squadrons freeze on the spot and stay there for a while without moving, until they disappear (but without the dialog box "Ufo-xx disappeared in space")
  3. I was hiring technicians for a new base and I noticed that the "Soldiers" tab was also increasing... Apart from the visual reference, nothing was affected (i.e wages, living quarters space). And after I pressed "Hire", only the Technicians were "due" to arrive (number in parenthesis) Anyway, I think it should not be overlooked!
  4. I had this question back from the original X-COM: EU. Is it worth to put ALL the scientists in one project or should I split them in 2 or 3... Back in the days of the original X-Com, I used to turn one base into a R&D base with only labs and scientists working on one project at a time and had another base as a factory for building stuff....is this viable in Xenonauts? Especially since I noticed that in Xenonauts, when you add scientists to a project, its state changes from Poor to Excellent. By the time it reaches the Excellent status, the extra scientists make any difference (time saving perhaps) or am I just spending money and manpower???
  5. I think I saw this earlier, but can't seem to find it again, so sorry for the possible repost! My situation is as follows: I went on a crash site [scout, Severe Damage]. Started unloading the troops on the map. I spot one alien which is close to the drop-ship but far from the crashed UFO. I send some troops to his direction and the others towards the crash site. When I pressed "End Turn", the "Hidden Movement" screen loaded, I heard in the background some steps, a fire burning, a scream and then...just the fire burning and the "Hidden Movement" screen for 10 minutes...where I eventually Alt+Tab -ed and force-closed the game!
  6. And the troll says: "A fraction of the manual is already written! "
  7. Sorry for not reading the instructions prior to posting.... was pretty busy playing Xenonauts!!
  8. I found 2 glitches while playing: 1. I think that the soldiers should "phase out" some of the walls (just like in Fallout 2, when you were on a "blind" spot") or, if this is not possible, visible aliens should be outlined and highlighted. Check out this picture: My soldier is inside the UFO but although he is in direct visible line with an alien, I couldn't spot him, so I had to move the cursor around, until it turned into the targeting cursor. There's also another alien outside the UFO and I can only spot him from his head...to be honest, I just shot him from inside...probably there was a hole somewhere! But still, if he was visible, an outline would help a lot! 2. When my soldiers exit the dropship at a terror site, only the shadow from the alien is visible. the actual sprite is missing.
  9. Battle report screen, Soldier advancement: My soldier gained some reflexies I think the correct would be "reflexes"
  10. Hurray! Didn't know that! It wasn't in the manual!! Thank you for pointing it out!
  11. I've been playing the V14 alpha for 6 hours today and here are some of my requests/notes/wishful thinkings: * During tactical battle, to have the ability to cycle through soldiers via a hotkey (i.e like Tab cycles through options in Windows apps) * If cycling through soldiers is implemented, then a "Lock Soldier" option would also be helpful, in order to make sure the soldier won't move by misclicking. I think the original X-com had this option. *Arrangement of soldiers/vehicles in the dropship to actually stay the same on site. I have arranged the setting so that the vehicle is always first to the exit ramp, but in some missions it gets at the back, so I have to move the soldiers first. I think it has to do with the orientation of the dropship's landing. * Names of alien artefacts and corpses to be available AFTER research (I know that this might be hard to do!). That's all for now....next feedback in a couple of hours!!! :D:D:D:D:D
  12. Thanks for the reply! I was launching from the same window, but I was actually waiting for the selected plane to be highlighted, so I clicked on each a few times...apparently I de-selected them that's eventually only one would take off to intercept! So...another good suggestion would be to highlight which plane you have selected, so you can arrange the squadrons accordingly!
  13. I just started playing and I am already hyped!!! After that understatement, let me share my experience I noticed once (in v14) that all 3 F-17 formed a squadron and engaged an alien scout...After that, I can't seem to be able to form a squadron by myself.... I keep sending the planes individually to intercept and when they do, I tail the target in hope that they will form a squadron but to avail... Do we have any info on that... I don't want to reach a point where I will have to fend of a big ship with only one puny F-17!
