  1. Having played 1.28b and 1.29 to the bitter end I think I am entitled to offer an opinon. First. with the common enemy being the aliens, there could be a few more options. For example area defense. Say, for example that you are in Morocco and those pesky aliens invade. The local army will fight them to the ends of their toelerance and ammo. Then xenonauts are asked to defend the eastern end or southern end or whatnot for say 17 rounds until reinfrorcements from northern morocco arrive.
  2. Please, let's keep this civil. Our aim should be to help Mr. Chris England, whose money making scheme has got us in here, having spend hard earned cash or credid card credit to buy at least one or two of his games. Because we did and we liked them a bit, we want to suggest ways that this game could improve and the ways that are there for it to do so. For example, Nato and specificaly US could have this, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_CL-1201#:~:text=The CL-1201 design project, aircraft of the 20th century. proposed flying airbase that never went anywhere in their arsenal. As a science fiction game, the sky (and programing this into the game) is or would be the limit. What it could be like living and workin in one of those we 'll never know. Perhaps xenonauts 2 could incorporate this somehow.
  3. Didn't do the math, however in practice I think I will accept what you write. Thing is in my own game, 128B, I found them a few months before the game reached an inglorious end, just as I was preparing for an advanced Guard armour, I saw the graphic, read the incredibly well written description, yet there was no armour to be build in the manufactory at the base. I think I will keep at it, maybe, just maybe I can learn how to shoot them aliens down. (Mostly auto). Here's hoping to the best ever xcom air combat ( the one that we are supposedly gonna get, not the one currently ingame, even if it beats what's out there, with Project Phoenix slightly behind. Oh well, Haven't finished vol. 1. Maybe it's high time that I did.
  4. It will. With 30K people including myself filling the coffers of Goldhawk. Thing is what happens after that. Since we will all replay this game many a times, why not do it with a different "xenonauts" that will in turn provide more funds for Goldhawk. Thanks for your opinionated response and before I forget... 8. South America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile or El Salvador.
  5. Refining my proposal a bit. 1.NATO TROOPS. USA W. GERMANY FRANCE 2.Warsaw pact. Communist Poland, USSR, DDR. 3.ASIAN Pro east... Vietnam, Peoples' Republic of China, Laos 4.Asian Pro western Japan, S. Korea, Thailand. 5.Africa, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Congo or Egypt. 6.S. E. Asia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore. 7. Non Aligned Movement, India, Yugoslavia, Cuba. Each one of those 7 packs will start as this. "Early in the beginning of the conflict the aliens raided xenonauts and killed them all. UN decided to restart them using "Communist Poland's" personel and scientists.". From then on the game would proceed regularly, only with polish soldiers as personel, polish designs for everything, aka planes transport planes, tanks, personal armor the works, including initial weapons that ought to be faction specific. Same for all the other factions and other packs. The artists of goldhawk would go absolutely wild designing those.
  6. been fighting the cleaners, sometime ago, and hit one. He went from 40 down to 35 with a full blast to the torso. An actual grenade launcher would dissolve a human body to the point that they d pick him up with small spoons. Unless this works as designed, (say for example the cleaners wear a kind of cloth that somehow disarms the grenade causing to fall unexplowded to the floor) then there's something wrong or even rotten here.
  7. USA xenonauts with own planes, transports and panoply, troop armor different from vanilla xenonauts 2. This all could be a paid expansion. West germany ought to get one, so should France, S. Korea, Japan, then China, Canada, and all other countries that would buy those paid expansions, even though most people would eventually. This would add multiple facets to the game, provide more income for Goldhawk to continue improve this game of ours until it actually shines and then go on to xenonauts 3 with their pockets filled. Thoughts, ideas?
  8. It was as if they had all moved and used all of their motion points. Day 38, while investigating a crash site that A1 and A2 had brought down by auto figthing that alien scout. No mods, no nothing.
  9. Never mind. Figured it out. Must have had a case of brain freeze or something, even though it is mighty hot here.
  10. Riddle me this, then. How do you get data from the cleaners' office. I did it once, by luck mostly. Since then, I have approached from the sides, from the front, from the back and then, well, no cigar, not even a fag. So, what then? If this subject was resolved and existed in the instruction manual, and I didn't find it, well, my fault. Thing is, should everything pan out, there MUST be an official document of sorts where the players can find the best way to get things done, as written by those who wrote or played a lot of the game. Down to business. How do you get that data from the cleaners? Is there a method to it or am I simply doing everything wrong?
  11. I think that by the time the game ships, there will be a manual. I don't think that a game can exist without a manual. Even those who want to brave the manual, eventually return to find why they couldn't do what everyone else did with a lot of ease.
