I'll have three, maybe four guys all set up, crouched, 100% of their TU, the aliens pop out, shoot them, leave. AND NOT ONE OF MY GUYS TAKES A SHOT.
What's the deal with this? If my troops won't shoot what good are they?

I'd like to see a game where we take the fight to the aliens on their home planets.

The game is telling me I need to capture an 'officer'. How can I tell an officer from a soldier or support class alien? Different color uniform maybe?

Is there something wrong with steam? When I go to the download page it says 'downloaded 0 bytes of 0 bytes, time completed 10:06'.

As a venerable sage of the forums, I can say with certainty that remaking TFTD is the number one "follow on to Xenonauts?" that gets asked. I don't think it'll ever get done. Underwater games are a bit of a hard sell.
So. How far CAN you throw a grenade underwater?

Are you using any non-official maps? In theory, the maps should have been designed such that this never happens.
Got news for you..... IT HAPPENS. Standard game, no mods.

I've been on three missions with it and the last mission it could only get one space out the skyranger because (wait for it) there was A TREE THERE.
So if maps randomly prevent use of this vehicle why take it?

I just ran a mission where I lost every single soldier. I tried it again and lost not one. So it's not always the same thing, that's for sure.
Also - I'm pleased to see ALIENS COME OUT OF THE SHIPS NOW. I was down to the last one and setup my guys and just waited.... he pops out and took a shot from the next tile. Awesome moment.

So, in ten days it will be 'game breaking bugs' only.
Most companies do minor tuning in patches, I hope if that's necessary it will happen.

Alternatively, is there a way you could use the reveal all as a way of lighting the fog of war (but without actually drawing the Alien). So you get a rough idea where it is but you don't know exactly - until you get LOS. I.e. you know hes in a room, but you don't know what way he is facing, if hes crouched and what type of Alien he is.
Just have the last alien drop his weapon and walk dejectedly into your troops. Suicide by Xenonaut.

I've researched everything.
I have Wolf armor and laser guns and did my first base mission last night.
Got my ass kicked into next week. I don't think I can take on a base without plasma weapons, but I've researched EVERYTHING and they still don't show up in the engineering dept.

Next couple of months? NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS? Maybe I'm wrong, but wasn't there a post first week in December saying (roughly) 'you know, we could push and get this done by Christmas, but we're going to take our time'?????
Now it's end of May/early June release?
The game is looking so much better, but still. It's frustrating.

25 years ago I remember being in a Newegg Store in north Seattle and chatting about computer games with the other customers.
We were trying to find one that would be fun to play. Someone would mention a game, say it was ridiculously hard and then we'd all ask 'well, is there a hack for it to make it more playable'?
Funny how some things don't change.

I have stopped playing because of the OP aliens, it's just no fun anymore, it's just one big bag of frustration. Stuff like this can really ruin your day.

Yes, the alien accuracy is being reduced somewhat in the next build.
Glad to hear it and I'll wait for the next build. I hope 'reduced somewhat' doesn't mean they can still shoot from across the map, in darkness, and kill two guys in one turn.

Have you done a 'verify integrity of the game cache' on steam?

Are the aliens still super marksmen who can hit two guys with one shot from across the map in the dark?

Just got a combat mission to load.
I had an alien shooting my guys from 1/3 of the way across the map.
He killed two of my guys WITH ONE SHOT.
Then my laser-gun guy couldn't take him because HE RAN OUT OF BULLETS.
I'll let that sink in for a minute. My LASER-GUN ran out of BULLETS.
Whatever.

I've had so many CTD's in ground combat that I've given up on build 2. It's not just one particular thing that causes them either. I had one the other night where setting C4 in front of a light scout caused it. I think the new loading screen is cursed. LOL

Wow. That can't be real? Your guys only do reflex shots when armed with shotguns (short range only) and pistols (basically useless). So riflemen or snipers are useless?
Is there a mod to give your troops more reflex?
