1. ESC opening menu is a normal behavior for main screens like Geoscape and Ground Combat. Everywhere else it should either return to upper level of interface or do nothing. 2 Mods: If this is really not a bug but a design issue, please move this thread to suggestions forum.
2. Thanks. I knew the right word. But i guess my brain confused it with Lacie's cloud backup program. 8)
3. 1) When the post-research Xenopedia report is shown press ESC 2) In-game menu is shown In my view, ESC should close such pop-ups as this report.
4. How about NDAA? Indefinite imprisonment by military for anything they like feels much worse to me than 5 years in jail for copyright violation. And it's already active.
5. This one is easier to show in pictures than in words. Here i'm moving Hunter over alien body in different directions:
6. Another minor UI shortcoming: 1) Locate an alien 2) Click on "Alien" icon at right side of the screen to center on him 3) Kill him (use missile for quick death) and don't move the mouse 4) Even after alien is dead the cursor is still red sight 5) Move the cursor to next tile and back 6) Cursor change into normal one Screens:
7. Discovered this one throwing flares around. Looks like when in targeting mode the cursor is context-aware even at tiles hidden under fog of war. Steps 1-3 to get this quicker: 1) Start some night combat 2) Remember the location of some aliens 3) Load autosave 4) Activate targeting by holding CTRL or clicking the weapon icon 5) Start roaming the map around you (around known alien locations if you followed (1-3)) 6) Either your sight-shaped cursor turns red on the tile where alien stands or that tile will be highlighted by circle on the ground Here are the screens:
8. Looks like it was already confirmed. From "Master bug thread": Not sure it was causing crash though.
9. When alien is being killed there are two guns on him: First, the gun (as a separate entity) is dropped on the ground. Second, while playing animation of his death the alien is still holding a weapon. For a long time it was spooking me, cause i felt there was something wrong but couldn't see what particularly. I think, starting to draw weapon just after the animation is complete should solve this. PS: Not sure, but the same could be happening with humans.
10. Another minor UI bug. Stance indicator gets messed up after you move from crouching position. 1) Sit down 2) Move to adjacent square In spite of you standing the indicator shows that you're sitting. 3) Switch to next soldier and back. Indicator shows that you are standing but doesn't react to MouseOver.
11. Not sure that it's a bug, but still: 1) When standing up press crouch 2) Immediately after that make any other action (change the line of view, move or stand up) As a result the animation of soldier sitting down is terminated and action from (2) is played already from crouching position. The same thing is happening when you standing up.
12. Don't know whether should i report this one as separate bug since in super-minor one: When in personell tab you double-click soldier embarked on chinook the game shows his detail in soldiers tab, but assignment window (down left) shows "unassigned" selected.
13. 1) Get your soldier wounded 2) Go to baseview, personnel tab, double-click him 3) Soldiers tab opens and wrong soldier is presented to you Here are the screens:
14. I noticed that sometimes my vehicles gone missing after battle. One time it disappeared even before the fight. So after numerous fresh starts i pinned this behavior down to save/load process. Here are the steps to reproduce: 1) Start new game 2) Shoot down ufo 3) Complete ground mission 3a) Possibly get your Hunter damaged 4) Save right after returning to geoscape 5) Save upon returning to base (Hunter is still there) 6) Load save from step 4 7) Return to base 8) Wuala. Hunter is missing. Here are my saves: bug_no_bases - from step 4 (don't mind the name) geo3 - from step 5 bug_vehicle_missing - step 8 Xenonauts20120128013018.zip Xenonauts20120128013018.zip
15. I'll do that. I started from scratch several times trying to catch exact moment. I'll post the results after that.
16. Converted png to jpg. Got size down. Seems to work. Also captured more screens. This time tiles was destroyed by hunter-mounted machine gun.
17. Playing further i got the number of scientists up to 80 (with only 20 legal). Every time a research was done i got extra.
18. I have a save that reproduce this bug even after restarting the game. It has no research started but when adding a new research (2 out of 3 available) it automatically gets 10 scientists. So there are 20 scientists researching and 20 out of 20 unassigned (or 40 researching and 0/20 unassigned): My recollections of the events: 1) Finished combat mission and saved 2) Started 3 researches 3) Hired 10 more scientists 4) Assigned 10 scientists to first 2 projects each 5) Played some more, reloaded save from (1) Version 8.9. First time play. 2012-01-26_23.23.28.zip 2012-01-26_23.23.28.zip
19. Is there some image size limitations here? Original screen is 1040x806 but it got resized.
20. First alien was killed by Hunters' missile. Everything (fire, smoke) was painted as expected. But when in the end of battle i got to this place again i got this:
21. I got my Hunter damaged to ~30% in combat. While Chinook was en route home "Vehicles" screen still showed 2 Hunters. But upon arrival i could see only the second one. I thought that may be there's some repair shop that i cant find, but i fast forwarded a month into the future and still couldn't see it. Did i miss something? Where did my Hunter go? Or is it a bug?
22. 1280x1024 Fullscreen, 1024x768 Windowed. Scrolling down from below combat UI doesn't work. But works fine from outside of it.
