Same thing happens to me thou it started only after i started using Valkyrie transport Autosave load plays fine one thing it seems to take a lot longer on the mission loading screen when it is going to crash sometimes it crashes on first move sometimes on enemy hit sometimes on door open (as far as i recall all on the first player turn) oh and the tank drop pod is misaligned

Bug found after base defence mission (no buildings damaged) scimitar used in base defence was not repaired after base defence (unassign then reassign to dropship did not help) was repaired normaly after next mission it was on thou

currently the functionality (at least that i get) is that on mouse wheel zoom in that the map zooms to the center (around africa) with supcom zoom if you have the mouse cursor over japan the zoom in would occur on japan and not center of current view on zoom out you move up over the location that you are currently over on reaching maximum zoom out the map begins to center better video hope that clears it up

Just bought Xenonauts and played a bit one thing i think you could add without much difficulty would be a Supreme commander style zoom function for the world map change from zoom to center of map to zoom to current mouse position i think it would allow smother map operation and better functionality Example
