  1. - How much TUs is reduced for shooting? - I used it 2 times and I couldn't upgrade the strength stat of my soldier (and I charge he with full invenbtory). Is it possible to train strength with this suit? - It is the machinegun the only thing I can use? Thanks for answers.
  2. I saw that my crypto decoder told me that it was a ship with 16 androns. I let all my suppresor machineguners at home, full the pockets with magnetic grenades, put my tank on the door, forgot all gas, stunts and no-letal things. I began the mission and the first thing happened was a shot from a harridan on the roof were my rockets and grenadiers can't reach. And worse of all this is that I wanted pick an alive harridan. What happened?
  3. This is what I was waiting since my first gameplay. Lot of thanks! I am on the 4th month of my 3rd attempt and things are going quit well, so I don't want to risk installing the mod, If I lose this attemp I will try and test the mod and will tell you the issues.
  4. In my opinion, something goes wrong with cover, for example I have just lost a man in a situation like this (blue circle is the soldier and red star is the alien). The strange was that my soldier couldn't see alien from the corner, but the alien could see and kill him from a ridiculous angle. And the logic of game mechanic should be that the soldier should have better chances to spot the alien rather than the oposite.
  5. Maybe your soldier is a coward. Did you saw his "Bravery statistic"? I asked for supression and according to what I was told, baravery stat is the key. http://www.goldhawkinteractive.com/forums/showthread.php/11871-How-works-suppression-%28mechanics%29 I also have been shooted from all the weapons and never had a first shot supressed guy. Note: I yes had first shoted supressed soldier but only happened when he received burst fire.
  6. AutoCannon plus incendiary ammo was the key. In the hands of the worst acuracy rookie usually becomes a rain of light and panick between alien lines. I remember my first turn always began with an super-spread of smoke grenades in day missions and with a rain of autocannon napalm during night missions.
  7. I thinked an exponential could be a good idea, by doing more likely to save soldier if you want and to punish too hard if you don't act quickly. For example, first turn you receive 1HP per wound, second turn you receive 2HP per wound, third turn 4HP per wound and so on. Then if you reach the soldier in 1 or 2 turns it is very likely to save him, if you reach on 3 or 4 turns depends on wounds and health and later very likely to die.
  8. I noticed that shooting is a very bad idea (need tons of ammo), and grenades are not much better and C4 is no so demolition tool as we can guess... So my advice is: "Use your tank". If you use not to play with tank you could have a "Rocketer" soldier. But the tank for me is the best option. A tactic of scout and destroy obstacles with tank is fantastic when you have one or two high accuracy snipers.
  9. 1.- How the game determines when receive critical wound and bleeding? 2.- When a soldier is bleeding. How do I know how much HPs he will lose per turn (I lost a soldier with something like 5HPs in single turn). 3.- Once I have a resurection (I clearly saw the "XENONAUT CORPSE" description and the blood in inventory when tried to use medkit on he, and after mission he appeared alive with 1HP). How works these resurections? 4.- Can the aliens suffer critical and bleed 5.- I sometimes see alien corpses (logic after air crash). But sometimes I hear from darkness the sound efect of alien screams when they die. And these sounds occurts without previous civilian shoot (just aliens screaming "brbrbrbrrbgrgrgrgr") And so I thinked that maybe tsome of they began the mission with HPs loss, critical woounds bleeding or simple they are stupid and are walking over the flames. Anybody knows why this screams happens? 6.- There is any way of know how much "stun famage" a soldier has received? And can I recover one stuned soldier with medikit?. Usually these fools throw the gas grenades on his feet. And once I tried to recover an sleepy soldier by gas grenade, but wasted all the medikit and nothing happens. Thanks for answers.

I understood the system, but I still say that sometimes strange thins happens, like happened on my second draw where if we think in terms of the mechanic explained the nearest soldier must be more likely to be uncovered but what happened was the oposite thing. What are going against the logic of the mechanic explained.
  11. It is random or deppends on any factor? Is the same time for all missions (crash, terror, bomb, etc)? And if it is fixed, how much time remains each of them? I usually wait some time to fit the dropship arrival with daylight and have just lost a terror mission casuse of this (and maybe my second game attemp with it...). I not remember what hour was when mission apeared, so I can't know how much time passed. And really don't want to risk again on the next terror. Thanks for answers.
  12. For a reason that I don't know I can't do screenshots of game (just black screen or desktop). So I will try to explain with draw another strange moment: One soldier was behind a farm truck (with 100% blocking size), another was behind grass package (with 45% blocking size) and the alien was in open very far (I put it closer in the draw to not doing a huge post). My soldier behind the truck was sniped. Then I killed the alien and put anoter soldier where alien was and with surprise I saw that the soldier behind the package had the cover aplied but the soldier behind the truck wasn't covered. This is what I don't understand because the angle was obviously better in the soldier more far away (some angle betwen 75º an 90º), but he was what was uncovered while the soldier nearest yes had the cover aplied. Brown square: Farm truck 100% blocking Orange square: Grass package 45% blocking Blue circle: Soldier uncovered. Purple circle: Soldier covered. Red star: Alien I know that preassing "Ctrl" I can see the path of the shoot, but it is the path of the shoot from miy soldier to the alien, but I can't see the path of the shoot from the alien to my soldier to know if I am in cover or not. If I am wrong and there is a way to know the path of the "alien bullet" I would really be happy to know.
  13. I still don't understand how works. I have just lose half of sqaud against sebillians (bad accuracy the autopsy says...) by missunderstanding the cover system, because I was "sure" I had 100% object cover. What angle does the cover work? I put here a draw, I understand the 90º shoot is covered, the 0º shoot is incovered, but the other 3 shoots? - Blue circle is soldier - 5 Stars are aliens - Black square is the covering object.

But the problem comes with the angles for me, if I put a man on a rock or car, with wich angle works the cover?, and if I put him just making corner it will be covered from shoots coming from 45º angle? Another question comes with the bouilding'ss corners, sometimes I can't shoot an alien because angle say me 100% cover, then I put a soldier on similar covering position on the building's corner thinking he is in 100% cover and the alien snipes him...
  15. I have just saw on artic map the same shoting more than 6 times on the face of aliens with his shotgun but without being worried about looking for cover or saving his life, maybe they have different agressive AI?
  16. There is any thread or site where it is explained, I have some problems understanding covering system. Sometimes I think my soldier safe in cover and crouched and then some alien snipe him from the other corner of the map. Yes, I know that a 1% chance of hit could becomes a 100% dead soldier, but I usually didn't know if the cause of death was a bad positioning or he was well placed and just was unlucky.
  17. I saw lot of times civilians with weapons, but never saw them fring a single shot, neither facing aliens, neither running away. They just stay walking in circles or crossing a door in and out once and again until they are killed or mission ends. If I kill one of them I can pick up his weapon? I really want to know if their weapons are out of ammo or something else... Edit: I did two Terror Missions and also didn't see soldiers doing a single shot, but I actually heard lot of shots in darkness from rifles and also heard tjhem screaming when died, so I assume the soldiers yes fought. But civilians and policeman never did it.
  18. I finally lost my first game (veteran) due to funfing lose. I noticed that if we do second base on second month on the third month we would lose almost all founding. Then the plan for second assault is clear: do one aditional base at begining or two aditionals on second month. The pronblem cames that my idea of a base includes a small garrison and some missile defense, but if we wnat do bases with 1 or 2 interceptors, 1 radar. garrison betwen 8 and 12 soldiers, it would cost omething like 1$ Million each base and more manintenance than funding income if have 2 aditional bases. Then I had the idea of do 2 "only interceptor" bases during first months (with one radar plus 2 hangars each). Totally indefenses but capable of stop the funding bleeding, and then in 3rd or 4th month put on them garrison and batteries. But I remember then the original game when sometimes we received the classic "First day" base assault and things like this, what became a stupidity fill the bases of installations before they were well defended (some tank, some soldiers and some missiles). In Xenonauts the aliens do this kind of things?
  19. I want to know how it works. In the original X-Com, every stat had a random formula to decide if it grows and how much grows. But some events did more likely to happen, for example every shoot that hits in alien added one point to base number for the random calculation of accuracy's improvement (the more hits a soldier got, more likely was to improve accuracy). And similar to others, doing successful throws did more likely throwing improvement, resisting psionic do more likely to increase psionic strength, trigering reaction for reflexes, etc... How does it work in Xenonauts. Thanks for answers.

  21. I have somoe questions about aiming 1.- Have we any penalty on aiming for being overweighted (I know we lose TU's but know nothing more on other things). I read something about moving before shoting heavy weapons have a penalty, how do it works? 2.- I saw a recoil value on some weapons (machinegun and rocket launcher). I read that it afects on aiming, but how do it? 3.- Also I don't understand well the smoke, in the original game it reduces line of sight, do it reduces line of sight in xenonauts?. Also how may I use it to get defensive bonus( I guessed some options but have no entirely sure on how works): a) The unit into smoke receive defensive bonus b) The unit into smoke receive aiming penalty c) The penalty in aiming is applied if line of shot pass throught a tile with smoke. And if it works on this way, how much penalty is aplied for each smoking tile in the bullet path? Or it is the same penalty shooting through one smoking tile than several smoking tiles.   22. I saw something but am not sure on how it works. 1.- I have read that dodging uses extra fuel. How much? 2.- Do the slide bar to select airplane speed impacts on fuel? How much? 3.- How much extra fuel uses the speed boost? 4.- When I receive the "Low Fuel" warning to return my base, how much time I have to do this? must I return inmediately or have I some time time to do? 5.- There is any way to know what interceptor is te UFO facing? (I mean that we can know with red spot and the red icon what UFO are facing each of ours planes and if we would know what interceptor is facing the UFO we could use it to bait the enemy). 6.- Before engaging we can see the estimated fight time in seconds depending on remaining fuel, is this time the time estimated at maximum speed or at minimum speed or what? 7.- There is any way to join separated interceptors (when launched separated) in one group and also if we can separate a interceptor from a made group (when launched together). I play in veteran level and I have: - Mid-East base initial: 3 satellites, 2xCondor, 1xFoxtrot. - Central America base built in second month: 1xCondor, 1xFoxtrot, 1 satellite The problem is not the satellite coverage, the problem is the interceptor range, almost all of the UFO events happens too far from range (including foxtrot). Building 2nd base on second month were impossible afford for 3rd base neither beter interceptors. As said RasterOps, I think the only way is to do aditional bases at begining to try stoping founds bleeding in second month, because if I wait for second month to begin building bases, when they will become functional I won't afford to mantain them. And worse of all I will have most of the continents on the edge of draw.
  24. Maybe there is something I don't understand, but I am feeling that the founding is not well balanced. I have first base covering part of europe, asia, mid-east, russia and northAfrica. I shot down and raided every single UFO spotted. But I am in the edge of losing game on 3th month. I lost half million $ september, another half on october and go on. - I received tons of UFO events that are out of range, just an unstopable bleeding of money. - I did my second base on second month covering part of the three Americas, but when it is operative I lost almost all founding on the continent. And several UFO events occurs in refions out of range (neither foxtrt reach). - Although I have several regions covered with my first base, most of the UFO events still appearing out of interceptor range (what means Russia, Asia, Australia and Africa South will fall soon aswell). When I lose current game I will restart trying to start with several bases, but I think that with huge maintenance of interceptors and buildings will make impossible to keep 2 aditional bases on first month and if I wait to second month I will have working bases barely the third month that it is too late (almost all of foundind would be lost then making bases impossible to mantain). Any idea?
  25. Thank you a lot. Where do you find that info? I searched but I found almost nothing and I have many questions on how game works (actually the manual and guide says little to nothing depending on the matter).
