  1. Heyho. I dont want permanent more sight-range, i just want a Item that gives, at TU-Costs give more Sight as long as Equipped or something like that. Iam not good at modding stuff but i will try to see if i maybe can teach me how to use all the files from Xenonauts. How could the 'random'-moments be modded out 'easy'? That would be interesting to know. The only thing i would have in the vanilla-version where just a few more basic-maneuvers and/or Items: - Binoculars - leg-up - better use of cover-system But at the moment i use a Mod and that one is pretty fun though.   3. Heyho. Iam not used the hotfix/update right now. Not in the middle of a game I saw now that i can sell stuff vor very high money, wow. To the #####-Entry i can give you the Save, there you can see it. I didnt remember which i did researched in front of that (i just 'wave it through' when new thing pop up sorry ) The Save is there as attachement (i just followed the install-instructions from the mod, so nothing else is installed) The Save says "Actually - Geoscape" in case if you wonder ^^ Stay crunchy.   4. Heyho! Well, i have had so many leg-up situations: Over Walls, Fences, to the first floor for the Sniper to gain sight-advantage etc. Yeah, its "soul" to be a "XCom"-Game is cool but we are in a time where something new should be tried i think Clearly, making animations is big obstacle, but at some point or even for testing purpose it would do a simple "he just did it"-text would be absolute okay. A leg-up would give a clearly extreme advantage (easy scouting without taking to much risk being suddenly sorrounded by 2 aliens without TU left to retreat). Yeah, in the Desert a leg-up would be useless but most of the time iam in Industry-Levels, City-Levels, Farm and Middle-Eastern-Citys. Sometimes i wish there would be something like binoculars giving you more sight-range so that you dont need to advance forward and producing situations that would be clearly avoidable (is this even a word?) The "More TU for better Aim" is cleary not a bolster-up or taking advantage of your cover etc. Its just 'take your time and aim' and the advantage is more then often very marginal i think. You can land with nearly every weapons absolute perfect single shots on optimal ranges about up to 150 metres. Even firing in burst keeps your field of fire pretty accurate (we talk here about a radius about 5cm) or maybe i was just a good shooter ^^ Xenonauts is still a pretty good game, but the random-things are so extreme inpredictable that its often more russian-roulette then well trained elites Edit: I also had a level with those crash barriers completely closed so my shield-guys cannot advance ^^ I needed to shoot those pesky barriers down to advance further in the level ^^ That was annoying ^^ Happy New Year and stay crunchy.
  5. Heyho! So i found a Scienceproject Named: ###### with following description: ###### What does it do? Does it ad the Hipster-Gene to the Xenonauts? Or even risens theyr Swag? Also i dont know what dissambling of certain UFOs does. It costs Money and Ressources. Am i missing something? Also the AP-Weapons came hours after i was deep in the Mid-Game, all the Main-Troops have Laser-Weapons and currently evolving from Wolf-Armor to the next better One. Even some Jumpsuits are in planning. I think that some of the weapons/things you can use (Especially those advanced Grenades) are kind of obsolete i think. And the fact that my basic-gas-grenades have only a very low impact-radius and the alien-gas-grenade since beginning has a overwhelming big radius is a bit... hm... "hard" to come by. Especially when i waiting 8 - 15 rounds... and then.... boom another gas-grenade... thx mr Alien Also i found that the Laser-MG has a extreme high TU-Cost to fire. I never read the xeno-wiki about Lasers, but if its LASER and not Laser than it should have absolutely no recoil and should therefore extremely Low-TU-Cost to fire, like the normal Weapons (also for the Aliens). I mean a long firefight is pretty cool and its always nervous seeing salvo after salvo from the Aliens and you shoot back salvo after salvo until someone hits and then you can advance (or while shooting back and forth you flank etc.) Also i think absolutely everything in the Xenonauts-Wiki is missing from the Addon, there is nearly nothing (here and there a bit information) to read about all those techs. Would be kinda neat to know what features/things do what And the fact that the Shield-Guys are so magnetic to Grenades is... a bit... awkward... you kinda exploit this fact. Send him in, get gas-grenade in the face with two different outcomes: - Worst Case: Your Mr-Shield-Guy drops to the ground and beeing useless n' stuff - Best Caste: Your Mr-Shield-Guy takes his Shield and punches the Alien directly in his grey face Make them more anti-magnetic to those grenades. Make the Grenade-Use more random, or more high-risk-high-reward like. Like "I can step out of the UFO, move 4 tiles and if i hit the grenade, 4 guys will maybe drop". Thats what iam doing sometime. I walk up, throwing 2 - 5 grenades in hope it defeats everything in range, if it works: great, if not, well... time to recruit some new guys The Bomb-Armor should be 2-Tiered: Standard-Bomb-Armour directly from the Bomb-Squads of Army/Swat/Etc and the one you have there with Alien-Alloys. Because i see no need to build it at all, because with all the vanilla-armors its kinda... obsolete, i dont want to build armor just because having a Shield makes you a grenade-magnet. The only thing i liked at best atm in this Mod is: 10-Man-Squads and better use of the basic-weapons (not "only move" or "only shoot". Just move a bit and let the bullets rain down on the enemy! Thats extreme supreme ) Also i got a Injector aviable now... but... uhm. Why? I know a Baton will kick the s**t out of an alien and robots, but the Injector... hm... "If you get near it will bypass armor" Yeah, and then? Is it insta-kill? I it high-chance? Low-chance? Confusing. Even not used AP-Weapons (Laserz!) why should they do less damage? Maybe you should make them aviable a bit earlyer and just give anti-material rifle (aka the .50 cal Anti-Material Sniper Rifle). If you want some variations of ammo then make it aviable at the beginning, we have all sorts of Ammo since the early stages of WW2+ - AP - Hollow Point - Normal - Tracer - Buring - Exploding Oh, by the way... Where is my Fwump!? I want a Grenade-Launcher Just kidding. But would be a nice addition being able to fire 2 - 3 grenades instead of just throwing 1. I mean, Grenade-Launchers are pretty basic. I would probably use the Flame-Thrower more but the high-risk of a unstable game (so much smoke and flames... ) makes this weapon a 'better not'-choice. Heyho. @hakimio ATM i think the mod is okay-balanced, i mean i know how to shoot mg/smg or assault-rifles in real-life because iam trained to, and the fact that a mg-naut now can shoot 2 - 3 salvos is way better than Vanilla where you can move or shoot, and if you shoot, only 1 salvo. Thats ridicolus (is it right spelled?). But yes, the grenades throw distance is very far BUT!-> We have a lot of Guys in the Unit that can throw grenades more then 60 Metres (not to mention some of them just explodes in the air). What the aliens do is pretty normal. Just the actual "explosion range" of the gas is pretty huge (kinda unfair sometimes, but not if your own grenades have that range too!) I have truly some issues with the modification as i find some of the things happening there are pretty 'unrealistic' or even 'unnessecary' (right spelled? please inform me), like a Sniper is blocked of easy shots with here and then 30 - 50% blocks through terrain. Even if they have the advantage of a high spot (but its the vanilla-thing, not the mod-thing). Also that a sniper misses so often while sitting still for about 3 rounds. That brings in a Idea: - How about a scriptet event that gives EVERYONE for each round, not moved, a 'X %'-Bonus on Hits? After a shot it should be resettet. Or even make it that, if you are in cover that you automaticly get a 10 - 20 % Bonus on Hits, i mean, in real life i use cover (used! iam not in the army anymore) to bolster up my weapon to take clear shots (not when in under fire or of course, giving fire support). Some Ideas i came up while writing: - Make Grenades more deadly, for both sides. I mean, a unarmored target, hit by a grenade is 90 - 100% dead. - Lower the Gas-Grenade to a 3x3/5x5-Radius and make it instant-knockout for every unarmed target (useless in mid/late game, but gives the aliens a huge threat!) Aliens had enough time to prepare for war. - If you can, look into the morale-system. As a special unit they get way to often unnerved and/or paniking As i dig deeper into this (actually good) modification i will try to test the s**t out of it in any positive meanings I have a LOT of fun!   7. Hey. Xenonauts are the Elite of the Elite? They are trained to withstand enemy forces from an unknown origin? Well, if you get to those Armors they are possible to fly buuuuttt.... whats with basic-maneuvers? One is helping another to climb up to the first floor? Or even breaking the windows before going/shooting through? Or, seeing a hip-height obstacle not as a 50% Miss-Chance for a Sniper-Shot on a standing enemy? I mean, sure... the game could not do everything but you should really think about basic-combat-maneuvers. Leg-Up and bring someone up or even climb down at some point (Those X-Com Soldiers in the 'Graphics'-Game, hell, yeah, that what i call movement! Of course they where also pretty limited.) or mount your gun to stabilize the shot, etc. etc. etc. If someone could bring this into the Community Edition (or even in a Mod? Maybe move the Thread?) it would be a tactical improvement! I mean, that would be the first time such classic maneuvers would be in a game (beside from ArmA 3). Yeah, the game is pretty cool at the very moment but its missing so much things i always think about i would do, and i wasnt even in a elite-unit, just basic soldier (German Forces at least KRK ^^, not the American Marine). Would be great! Stay crunchy.
  8. Hmmmm. Mybe its my own Alieninfluence? The Game could not handle that? Well, it may have something with that drooling... yes, quite a problem but... hmm... well, are there any methods to get a crash-log from Xenonauts?
  9. Androns are resistant to Laser oO Unless Aliens use PLENTY of high level Materials i will not believe that, because the Laser would just melt through Armor. The fact the Aliens use Androns like Skittles i cant believe that they have so much material to make them all effective against Laser ^^ Ballistics, yes, but not Laser. So, i encountered a few crashes now which makes me save at start of a round, at the end of a round and probably every 2 - 3 Minutes in Geoscape (just to be sure not be thrown back so much if the game crashes). Can you look into that? First Crash enounctere while actively walking through a LOT of Gas/Smoke and used the Flamethrower quite a bit. Second Crash was just in a Alien-Round, they moved and then 'Windows is not corresponding anymore'. My System: Win7 64 16GB Ram ATI Radeon 5700 HD 3,6GHZ AMD Quad Using Xenonauts Community Edition (Always updated) Xenomorphic Biological Additions to the Core making it an Queen-AI (Sadly, she's not reproducing our glorios Xenomorph Race).
  10. Heyho. I dont encounter often those Mind-Control-Events. Sure i have here and there someone fleeing, sometime (1 out of 10 'events') Berserking. But i think (I play Community Edition) its okay. The fact that they dont sit behind blast-doors and mind-controlling every single Person is that the Aliens dont have so many Psionic-Guys. I dont have so much rage-quit moments ^^ Glad this is working for me What you need, Sir, are Classic-Xenomorphs like me on your side, we gnaw, we spit, we bite, we scratch and we screech! That strikes fear in those pesky Alienhearts Stay crunchy.

I find the Idea pretty good but as a "Special Force" the X-Com seems so extremely underequipped from the Start that a friend of me laughed hard saying "Oh my god, theyre running into Aliens with Shirts and Jeans! Bwahahaha". I mean, the Wolf-Armor or even any Kind of Armor (Swat-Armor, Bomb-Defusing-Armor etc. etc.) was possible in the 80s, or am i wrong? Maybe a alternate Timeline would be great with the IDZ (Infanterie der Zukunft = Infantery of the Future) Equipment at the start, advancing th... oh... hm... I should stop now ^^ Atm iam playing the game again on normal with a mod, pretty funny again. Lets see if i will get my achievement of beating the game this time ^^ Stay crunchy.
  12. @Drages: My Standard 8-Man (now 10) Squad consists Soldier-Types of the following: 2x Shield & Pistol (Backup: Rifle) 2x Sniper 2x Heavy Weapons (Maschinegun) 4x Riflemen ((In Vanilla it is 2/1/1/4)) So i can use 2 5-Man-Squads to outflank the enemy in most cases. But yes, the Shield-Guys gets the most of the Grenades, dont wanna make the Bomb-Armor, iam stick with the Wolf-Armor atm (Too less Alloys, first the Guns, then the Puns uhm i mean Armors). But the Gas-Grenades have such a huge range that i can have my men widely scattered around a position, 2 - 3 Men always gets into the Cloud -.-" Iam atm in the transition-phase from early to mid-game. Thats where i start building up Laser-Weapons, Armors and all the good stuff to show them who's Boss =) Also working on a second Squad specially for Terror-Missions (A lot of Heavy Weapons! Because i will bring the Terror! Not the Aliens! Mwahaha ^^) Have a happy new Year and stay crunchy.
  13. Heyho. I installed your Mod just today and startet a new Game. After blindly managing my first Assault like i do in XTE just basically my troopers got blown up by a few grenades and now i restartet again! Holy Moly! Glad iam a very good Strategist and Tactican but the Ground-Missions take now about 10 - 20 Minutes, even at the Start of the Game. I just dont wanna to loose anyone, but of course a few of my Men where stunned ^^ They threw so much stun-gas that i couldnt move 15 turns! ^^ Looking forward to new updates because this Mod takes this Game to a good new level! Stay crunchy (And as a Classic-Xenomorph i need to kill those damn Aliens! Because the World is mine!! *gnaw*)

  15. Heyho! So, i played all X-Com Games so far =) I beat all of them of course. Final though some of you may be right, Xenonauts isnt a game for relaxing ^^ Re-Playing it actually on Hard again and its lot easyer now (because i pay full attention) *sigh* Yeah, seems i need to play something else for relaxing *G* Sorry for swearing Thought ill do more american english :> where fu** is a filler But i didnt say that this game is bad Maybe i misread a bit but i just want to say it in case someone thoughts that i meant this game was/is bad. NO IT ISNT! Its a great game, not for relaxing though Stay crunchy.
  16. Hey. Enjoying the Community Edition of Xenonauts, except to that point where i should play 200% perfectly to out-tech the Aliens... Uhm, but i dont want to play in 'only perfect moves allowed'-Mode. How comes? Because i want fun, playing on Normal (Easy is... uhm... too easy. Normal should be right for me) and going further down in technology. But it seems that, the more i advance in tech (just science, not building really expensive stuff), having a 2cond good Base the difficulty grows so extreme that i dont know how to... react. I mean, what should i do if i BARELY made Wolf Armor but the next thing is that a City is sieged and my men got mowed down in an attemt to rescue the city! Also a 100% Resolve of a Flight-Fight gone 0% for me! I mean W T F! W T F! W T F?! I dont want to play every single Air-Fight! I know how to win but when i read 100% Victory it should 100% Victory, not 99,99, 90 oder that. It should be 100% without any questioning! Also i encountered 8 of those Robots (glad they only killed 2 of my men) till to the point the 2 freaking flying saucer things come and MOWING MY FREAKIN' MEN DOWN! I mean WHAT THE F...?! Yeah... i know how to play a pretty perfect game but thats not the fun, i want just to relax a bit and not giving 110% of my attention to out-play over-teched Aliens while iam just at the point where i COULD build lasers, not to mention i barely have enough Alloys to build 3 Laser-Weapons! Oh, did i forget to mention that after i had 2 foxtrotts only medium fighter coming down? And how they shoot down every second 2-Squadron, the fact that i need to send 3 of them if i dont want to fight by myself? Also the first Airplanes ar on 0%-Victory with 2-Squad (dafuq?! I can win with 2 of them against a Medium Fighter with ease! Why not at least 80% auto-resolve?) And exactly at this point again, always when i dont want to put 100% effort to a game that should be fun to play while relaxing, i cant play it anymore... Its horrible bad. Not a bad game, but if i want relax and not doing it after 'Plan A-The perfect plan to have exactly what you need, when you need it!' than its bad. If i do it with Plan-A its good. But then i also can play iron mode on hard... wow... No need to play a 'Relax'-Session because it seems that there is no relaxing possible in Xenonauts. Or is it a "Bug" or something? Having overpowered aliens after 1 1/2 to 2 Hours Gametime? (Only 2 Month-In-Game Time) or is the hard the new normal? Because it seems that normal = hard, easy = normal. Playing at difficulty hard upwards means that you dont do any mistakes because every mistake you do on hard and above can lead you to a full loose... Have nice holidays and, so we say in german "slide well" (Happy New Year) ^^ PS: Now i restart the game, put it on hard and kick the aliens arses! To Hell with them, now, as again in german "i tasted blood"! Stay crunchy.
