vaultdweller Posted February 27, 2014 Share Posted February 27, 2014 They wouldn't need to release a patch for all games, they'd just need to release a patch for the Steam client. Games that actually use online and multiplayer functionality from Steam would need to be specifically patched to work without it, but the thousands of games that literally just need to ask, "Hey Steam client, am I allowed to execute?" will be just fine if Valve changes how the client determines the answer to the question.
