Downing alien craft

For the first months or so i manage to down lots of alien craft. After that whatever i do (regular missiles, pure gun kills) they get destroyed(and i need that alienium)/ Am i missing something?

Hi Hety,

If the craft your are shooting down are Fighters, then there is no ground mission. They are supposed to be destroyed. Think of them as alien drone craft.

I've not destroyed a light scout or scout for ages, but let us know if that's what you are shooting down.
