I suggest adding an intelligence report to the month end/start process to assist newer players anticipate what the aliens are doing. The report(s) doesn't need to be real fancy. Perhaps something like: "Our space survillence assets have detected alien movements of larger ships in orbit possibly to refit for atmospheric use. I strongly suggest we begin upgrading our aircraft as soon as possible to deal with larger alien ships." Another useful message would be: "Our operatives have uncovered evidence that the aliens are operating a clandestine base somewhere in North America (insert other country) in an attempt to take control of the government and population. I suggest increasing air patrols in North America (insert other country) to locate then destroy this base before it is too late." Additionally, those flashing news blurbs that appear on the Geoscape could actually be changed to give useful information to the player. It could even have a little humor in it. Something like:"Washington Post columist claims President is an alien." OR "New Mexico woman says she escaped from secret underground lab run by aliens." OR "Ex-Navy pilot reports seeing flying saucer as big as a carrier over AZ."
