  2. It seems strange that you can't make the equivalent of alien plasma cannons for your troops. My bazooka-equipped soldiers would worship you for sure. Long-range and accurately-delivered explosives are awesome way to clean area of that troublesome cover pesky aliens crouch behind. Plus, my bazooka guys are begging you to make rocks destroyable. I believe they look at it as personal insult that no matter how many shots they launch at it, its still there. BTW, is it only my imagination or plasma cannons are much weaker and with smaller area of effect then bazookas?
  3. OK, before I post this in "Most Annoying Bugs" I'm going ask if this by design or error. I've played the same terror mission three times now and the reason is that my guys seem to simply "blow up" in a massive explosion with frightening regularly when subjected to plasma cannon fire. I'm talking complete destruction here, nothing left but a burnt spot on the ground. I feel like Beatty at Jutland. Not only do they blow up but the explosion is so large that it takes out guys around them too. I believe that Chris mention something about C4 pack detonating when hit. Is this true? Is it by design? Because it's REALLY annoying. If it is by design I'm going to have rethink my loadouts.
  4. I start having trouble with the game once regular Scouts start showing up. Not only do they carry aliens which can take a hail of bullets before falling, but they carry plasma rifles, which have this nasty tendency to kill my soldiers in one shot. It's not uncommon for me to have four soldiers unloading on an alien right in front of them, and then the alien doesn't die and kills two of my soldiers during its turn. Then the next turn, the two remaining still can't kill it, and they too get mowed down. So yes, I'm totally sucking at the game. (On Normal difficulty, no less.) Any way I can stop this?
  5. I'm sure this must have come up, so apologies if I'm repeating a thread I've not been able to put my finger on. I like the concept that everything has to be reverse engineered. Your pilots can't fly alien ships. They have to be changed to enable humans to interface with them etc. But plasma weapons seems a little in the middle. You can't store them in your arsenal, but they can be used on the battlescape. Having used them there, the Xenonauts are strangely possessed to sell them off at then end of a mission. If they are clearly functional, then surely Xenonauts would keep hold of them and use them when needed. It just seems a bit silly. You'd also think they would be a more direct link into xenonaut plasma research, since the troops can already use them in the field. Personally, I'd remove their capability of being picked up in the field and used, under the excuse that they are actually an extension of the alien's physiology. Therefore, more extensive reverse engineering would be required. As I said, I'm sure this must have come up as it does strike me as a little odd.
