ok I seem to be having a problem on being to play this on steam. I have it set up to automaticly install but for some reason, I still see only the vanilla version of xenonauts. is there a code I need to be putting in to sign up to play the CE version?

Yep, just do this:

If you are on Steam and on Windows, all you need to do is to change to the Community branch:

Right click on Xenonauts >>> Properties >>> Betas >>> Community

You can revert to the standard official branch at any time by selecting the "NONE" option from the same list.

I just happened to grab the 1.09 release from HB and literally ten minutes ago realized it had an "extras" folder with really great stuff! Thanks for that... and yes, that dev diary was a great read. I can only imagine the roller coaster of feels.

Will the extras be added to Steam? Not that it matters to me at this point, but I'm a curious fella.

- Has somebody tested already the release candidates? (IOW, was there any point in bothering with them, or should I have just released "final" version and hoped it works).

I did, although not really hardcore testing... just continued on with a copy of my existing saves.

- Does somebody use the skiphiddenanimations setting?

I had no idea this was a thing, but I'm going to go try it right now!

Provided you didn't overwrite the original game executable with the CE version. If you did, and you have the game in Steam, just trash it and validate game files so it downloads the 1.09 exe again.

Getting a CTD even though I used a fresh install and followed the instructions.

Are you trying to load from a ground combat save? I had issues with that even after fresh install. I'm guessing because of the various other mods I had. Just ended up loading from a save right before ground combat deployment.
