  1. I just performed file check via Steam and It appears that 29281 files are either missing or become corrupted.

You should really add this line to X:CE description: "Under no circumstances should you use 'Delete Mod' button in the Mod Manager. It will break your entire game".

  2. Hello!

It has been about two years since I played Xenonauts for the last time. Recently I decided to re-visit the game and, owing to Steam workshop being full of mods, mod it heavily. I subscribed to a whole bunch of mods, among which I had X:CE (Steam version). Afterwards I switched to X:CE branch via Steam properties as I should have done in the first place. I arranged mod priority according to their descriptions and started playing.

Every time I started the game it would tell me that CE is either not active or has wrong priority. Regardless of my input the game would always crash while loading for the first time (with loading taking longer than a minute). For the second time it would load in just 10 seconds.

Now, I thought to myself "why would I need CE from Steam if its description clearly states that it is not even necessary to install it in the first place?" And so I opened my mod list, selected Steam CE and deleted it. The only trouble is that it deleted EVERY MOD I HAD INSTALLED!!

I restarted the client and this is what I am seeing (in attachment). Though it says "downloading" nothing really happens.

What do I do? Should I completely delete my Xenonauts installation and start anew?

  3. Singularity grenade.

Have you seen Thor 2: The Dark World? Dark Elves use them. A tiny device, which creates a black hole and kills everything within the area of effect.

    Neutron weapons.

It shoots beams of energy, which freely go through all kind of armour and kill any form of biological life in their way. Ray of death, kind of.

And make Plasma Cannon able to shoot 3-round volleys. It would be spectacular.

  4. You don't need a tank there. At least I did it without vehicles.

My layout was next: 4 heavy (2 MAG storms and 2 Singularity cannons for the test purposes; 4 MAGs would be better), 4 assaults, 3 snipers and 1 rifleman. And don't forget about the smoke and fusion grenades.

  5. My experience with this cannon is next: it's a waste of time and resources.

Say your soldier has 100 str, 100 TU and wears Predator armor. Equipping singularity cannon decreases TU down to 64. Making a shot costs 52 TU. Reloading takes 60 TU (I'm not kidding, it really does). Equipping one more battery takes 4 additional TU. In the end this weapon can only be only used as a stationary one. Utterly useless and pointless. Same as Fury.

I'd propose to remove Singularity core from the game entirely as it does not lead to any useful research/technology. But not only that. The very existence of the singularity core is illogical and weird. At least the way in-game aliens use it: they use an eternal source of infinite amount of energy... to power up few engines, few cannons and hyperspace drive, which could perfectly work without the core (take a look at the carrier). What a waste! It's like you mount a jet engine on your car and then put a limiter on it 'because that thing is too damn powerful'.

  6. As for the grenades, why don't frag/alenium/plasma/fusion ones DO NOT explode after I throw them? They only do after I pass the turn. Why is that? Alien/flashbang/EMP/smoke one do explode during player's turn.

Not even talking about C4 here. This thing is utterly useless as it only explodes after aliens do their stuff and pass the turn to me. Why ? how do I fix these unfortunate issues?
