  1. typical, i spended like nine or ten hours in Mass Effect and skyrim making the pj looks like me, i also sucks, but i got a friend made me because we found one that looks pretty close to me, just needed to tonned down the skin a little bit and change the hair to black and thats it, if i saw him around ill ask him how he do it (i was aside him and looks "pretty" easy to do), i'll give you better instructions xD.

  2. i got a ramdon though on my mind about FTD...is possible to make a crash mission without a "ufo" itself...i mean you could just add a LOT of debris and stuff because the ufo exploded in mid air or something and then the aliens landed with capsules or drop pods (like the valkyrie)...if this could be made then adding this as a pre requisite for the valkyrie (studyng the alien pods sistem and then make the valkyries aviables).

    So my main question is...its possible to make a mission without a phisical "ufo" present in the map..but full of debris..maybe the core,parts and components of the ufo(with their destroyed sprites versions)?.

  3. Fresh Install of Xenonauts no other mod but this one and I have a bug were the hire soldiers clipboard is over the manage soldiers clipboard.

    you are using a steam release version wich contains the 0.30...you need to create a new fresh istalation, apply 1.09 patch and then and only then apply this mod, this is using the 0.28XCE version instead of the 0.30 which contains that feature and are causing you that glich. The same thing for Thelone.

    And again there is a discussion about smoke grenades, guys..the smoke grenades are trow between your enemies and your soldiers not OVER your soldiers, they are a chemical coctail with components that makes a dark cloud wich pollutise the oxygen..i dont know but is pretty logic to me, the jackal armour and up there gives you a little chemical resistance(a mask...a balaclava...or something use your imagination xD). Did you know that the diference in componets between some smoke grenades(specially the OLDER ONES and remember we are in 79) and "tear gas" (idk the name, in spanish are called "GRANADAS LACRIMOGENAS": errr, tear making grenades?) that are used in riots and stuff?.

  4. hi! sorry for popping up ramdonly but if you want more heads and also more backgrounds (more countries...batallions and stuff like that), and getting more variability in your soldiers "history" you should try this mod, is integrated in XNT (a mod i use and i love) but they also have a lone standing version :), also if i remember right there are the "heads" on a file for photoshop(psd) so is ready to edit them as you wish.. Its cool to see im not the only one who is obsessed to make a xeno-avatar of myself in the game and try to keep me alive xD.

    EDIT: i think that you are looking something like the Nor2,Nor8 or Nor9 faces, you could find in the file and edit them, they are the more close to what you are looking i guess.

Reactor i got this problem too, but was because i forgot to update the game to 1.09, make completely sure that you are running a 1.09 version of the game, GH changed the atlas configuration in 1.08(IIRC), so if you use a version prior that then you'll find that kind of screwed graphics, hope this helped you :).

  6. i think most player agreee with that drages..i dont complait so much about their stats, but most abour their behaviour :c. They were a lot more scarier than now, maybe a little buff in their stats could be ok, but MOSTLY in the IA, i feel them a bit dumb, i only lost soldier when i do something really stupid like seing them and getting to close, i remember their deadly kamikaze charge when even when they know they will die they charge and kill a couple of my guys, instead of just running in circles dumbing around :c.

  7. have a problem with a preator..i need one alive, but seem impervious to stunG, whats a good tactic? i have to bring a rookie as cannon fodder to depletes it's TU's and than mass charge with stun batons?would be need to shot it until armour fades?

    secondly,it's possible to implement a tech tree?what is need to unlock the wolf armours? i'm in jenuary and have only coyote's and jackals a bit poor defence against the more powerful alien weapons, and to aircrafts, why i can't equip the foxtrots with aelenium missiles? would be better a aelenium missile rather than a piranha or mammoth one, no?

    Hi compadre ,well i have to say that you look a little behind in tecnology for the time frame . First at all for capturing a praetor alive, first i shoot him until i see he start to take damage(instead of resisted, that means that his armor was "depleted") , then toss a lot of shock grenades,stun grenades and retreat a little bit, keeping my man out of his line of sight, after a couple of turns. Then he would try to search out my soldiers but i have a plenty of rookies with shock batons ready for rushing at him to beat his sh$#t out :P. It works for me on Veteran, i hope it help you.

    About the tech tree . Yeah, well actually the idea of the tech tree was scrapped because one of the jolly things in the mod is to discover by yourself what thing lead to what, is like open a box without knowing what is inside. It was supposed to be reemplaced with hints and clues in the logs from research windows, but for now the Devs are a little busy so you should a little bit for now :c.

    For the wolf armour you need this:

    1)Alien Alloy Fabrication(AAF).

    2)Alien Alloy Hardening(AAH).

    ------------------------------------------

    And for AAF(1) you need:

    *Alien Alloys

    *Alenium.

    And for AAH(2) you need:

    *Any big ship report(the landing hull,cruiser,batleship blablabla,i mean the xenopedia entrie).

    *alien alloy production.

    There are another ways to get the AAH including also any of the above and a omega corpse or a alien leader interrogation.

  8. to modify the vision cone, you should edit the armourgc_xml. there is a vision cone parametre for each armour so you should edit everyone you want to the number you desire, but as gurbo says you won't be getting the intended gameplay experience.

    Also about the rng parameter, i said a lot of ppl comenting on how irrealistic it is...well i have to tell that i study medicine and the distance between the lung and a wide "empty spot" where a bullet can go trough "relativity safe" in the chest is only by 3mm (errr i dont the value in inches sorry), or even to pull it more graphic. A headshot is not always a instalkill, the bullet can go throu a cheek to another (destroying theeths of course..but hey...at least you are alive), or the dinstance from the nose (instadeath) to the ear( a one million dolars injury) are just about six inches or something). A shoot in a leg what is considerated "safe" could be deadly if the femoral arterie is hit (you will lost blood quicker than if you cut your wrists) and soooo on...

    Yeah, i mean, first you must choose the plane(by clicking on it or on the side panel..or with the shorcut depending of the plane number,f1,f2,f3 etc.) And then you must hit Q for rolling to left or E for right by default (you can easily modified this in options for your taste).

    Is very useful with this way :P. (but i have a kind of problems when the plane is upside down xD, i need to pause the game then LITERALLY invert my head and see where is left and right from the plane perpecstive xD).

  10. i would preffer bipedal vehicles for the aliens, i dont know, i feel that mostly all the mods are oriented to give techies and goodies to Xenonauts...but the aliens just are sitting there :foreverAlone.jpg: xD.

    Also if you notice it, on the base defence missions,if you have the nanofacture factory stuff, there are present a lil orange terrapin, for moving heavy stuff around the facility i guess :P. That brings me the question of how far reached the devs with this idea? .

  11. Playing it on ironman and with having downed aircraft unrecoverable (i decomissioned downed aircrafts) would be challenging but pretty much possible.

    If I were to play in on ironman, I would prefer to decrease variablility on recruits abilities. This would help in mass recruiting that is needed in such setting.

    Both option could be modified in the gameconfig_xml:

    Change the 1 for 0

    the other are the <!-- SOLDIER GENERATION VARIABLES -->, tweak the values as you please :).

    Also i dont suggest you or anybody to play in ironman, why?...because right now XCE are still WIP, so it would suck to lost and entire gameplay just by a nasty bug or ramdon CTD. In the personal i use a kind of "pseudo ironman"...save the closest i can from the site,just a few minutes prior the dropship lands. One savegame STARTING THE MISSION...and other one every turn, no matter what..so they killed your best soldier the Captain McAwesome with 90 on bravery and 300 on badass-nes? suck it, shit happens..save the game.

    with this i could get back if the game:

    *goes fubar for a ramdon crash or strange ctd(specially useful to provide savegames for bug splashing).Reload the Endingturn save.

    *Something else happen that is out of your control(for example a electricity shortage, a ramdon pc shutdown or something)then reload from the start of the mission.

    *Or the reload i use more, save prior the landing, why?, well because you get a new random map with a random enemies spawning somewhere else, this is the way i feel i dont cheat(or too much at least).

    Using this solely 3 savegames, a big chomp of mental discipline, i go trough the game just cursing,crying and screaming and most important, ACCEPTING when those shit moments happens xD.

  12. It's not about dealing with a little difficulty, it's about the fact that I hit a reaper with two missiles plus two car explosions and they don't

    die, or about the fact that I'm having to deal with aliens in the beginning of the game that almost completely resist all of the weapons that my soldiers can access.

    giving your point of view is not the same as giving a honest feedback..i now new players struggle with the early missions, but...at least you should try to play until two months had gone..i mean, what you are basically doing is:

    "play a mission ...get killed" instead of just trying another tactics...make a few "try and error testing",using new squad compositions, just fling grenade everywhere and look if it work or something? . You just give up and say that the game is too dificult and are cheating, the problem about TD dont taking you serious is because you also dont take serious the Mod and The fact of giving a true feedback. I could bet that you dont even get unlocked the zhepyr rifle...pal dont get me wrong, im not bashing you with the hammer of "im good you are wrong!"...but if you say something like "that weapon is useless" dont expect a too serious answer..specially because flamethrower works very good by destroying the "enemy armor" first..thats why you get all those "resisted" message, if you dont understand the "armor system" work on the game then you should'nt jump into conclusions too quickly...also why you get that "harsh response"?, because the premise of the game is to have a challenge...if you feel vainilla was too easy, try this :D!..just imagine if you go to some chilli(spicy chilli pepper) contest...and they warn you:

    This is the stronger chilli around here...are you sure you want to try it?.

    but you ate it anyway, and then start to complain about how spicy it was...and saying that the chilli was wrong..the contest was wrong..everything was wrong..just because you cant stand that hot chilli pepper you ate.

    I see you are a newcomer and i want to welcome you. Also you could notice this is a long thread..you could check and review a couple of pages before and you'll see plenty of tips and tricks how to deal with this.

    Im not saying you are wrong, but you have to understand that if you instead. Started saying something like :

    "Hey guys im new, and i dont know how to kill those stupids demons from hell called reapers..gosh they are driving me crazy, Also i found not use to the flamethrower...what i supposed to use it, can you help me with it?."

    You would get a better response instead of just complaining about everything in the mod because you dont understand it(specially the GAME MECHANICS ITSELF).

    Specially the part of the NON-combatants...they were present also in vainilla..so im a little curious on how you managed to ignore them in vainilla (where they are LOT MORE USELESS!). But gives you so many headaches and anger here in XNT?.

    Hope you understand those points as the same way we all try to understand yours...cheers and hope you give the mod another try.

  13. if you played the old xcom from 1994....you'll now that reapers are the equivalents to the nasty and feared chrissalids and i dont want to spoiler you but

    they zombify their victims and after a few turns a new crissalid hatch up to bring you more terror in the already FUBAR mission :P.

    . It was a scout right? (that one with "wings" and a circular green center?...or you cannot even aproach to ufo and get slaughtered before you saw it?).

    Is really weird because i also use this mod and of course i got "earlier" reapers but only because i get greedy and decided to assault a premature LANDED corvette(bad idea xD).
