  1. nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! *add spoiled child scream here** yeah i unlocked the new backwolfs planes..pretty badass !! and hey, condors are the backbone of the earth forces so im even more flattered xD!. Im working with the translation because my brother loves the game but his english is even worst than my own ...and i just get bored quickly doing it, i have made "half" of the work..it still needs a GOOD polish.

    Bull reapers, and mostly all new reapers loves killing civilians, but they still kind of ignoring my troops :c, they attack if i made a stupid move and place them close to them..but aside that, they still over-lurking :c, they need less firepower to get killed (thats good) and are more deadly (i remember a bull slashing two recruits in the same turn).

    If anyone else doesnt still have this behaviour this could means i do something wrong while patching..but not everything is bad, THEY are MORE deadly than before (maybe not SO deadly as i could enjoy..but you know is kind of tastes :) ) so its a totally improvement for the sassy pussy roaches they were before (IA act in misterious ways sometimes xDD).

  2. dark souls, that's the most painfull, sadistic, annoying and fucking unbeteable saga i played..and yes i love it! , i like a game that punishes me (in a fair way..not cheating because "IM PC SO FUCK YOU")...it was really rewarding after you defeat a boss and found a cool and badass loot that makes the time spended worthy...and that's what i feel dragues is trying to do with XDIV.

    He's making the game hard, but more rewarding, there is no more shoot,loot,upgrade,repeat formula that basically makes you feel unbeteable in vainilla, even if it was a amazing game, i feel it lacks a GOOD challenge, something that make grind our gears in our seats because we were really stupid sending a soldier to his death, this mod punish the mistakes, and thats how difficulty should work..of course sometimes the aliens feels a little cheaty: reapers in some degree..harridans were more deadly xD.....but if you think about it, is not supposed that a super duper advanced alien race with a suit that contains a helmet that basically could have a 30 million times zoom using a sniper rifle be deadly?.

    The cool things about this is that the mod is still progressing, there are a loot of work to do, but everyday it passes i see how this mod envolve to something better, and thats amazing you know :).

  3. Hi skitso thanks a lot for this! i love it and i glad its finally made compatible (thanks kabill, you r awesome too).

    Btw i got a little doubt because i want to add it but "incomplete" without the blue earth maps,ufo icons and some of the base images...so aside deleting those specific files, i dont have to do anything else right?, something special with XML or something?.

    EDIT:

    tried it, added using modding tools and the activate it...inmediatly get CTD launching the game :c.

    Dont know if there is something im doing wrong.

  4. i remember from XNT that Tactical dragon made a special particle for one cannon that got that feel of explosion-expansion-vacumm-implosion secuence i think you are refering for.....

    im not sure but i remember him telling in his tread he made it by adding more sprites in the secuence ending with something like:

    1>2>3>4>5>6>5>4>2

    being 1 the beggining of the explosion and five the ending...after the "climax" peak he kind of vacumm-ed itself leaving light particle effects...ask him for more information and i hope this is the answer you are looking for.

  5. IIRC there are some new aliens ships made in the Dreagnought mod, but they doesnt add a GC mission because they were too large and it would take a long time to make the ufo foor plans... but maybe making this in that mod could be feasible :).

    Im not sure if this was discussed before there but you could tell them this idea and see what happens , i like it :D, see ya bro.

So why do I think it's weird ?Wierd is that even though Ceasean non-combat coudn't escape LoS of soldier he was running to UFO entrance and back to some room in UFO every turn.I know this because Xenomorph was at entrance running from wall to wall inside UFO so I had eyes on two of them for good deal of time..

    THIS!!!!, i posted this before, it was really annoying watching them move back and foward without doing anything, yeah you are right, aliens are waaaaaay tooo "sneaky", specially melee aliens, dragues explained me today some of the reasons so i understand it better and also he and our glorious leader sentelin are working on it :D!

    (nice to see you sent!, sorry for the long mia, i was in the medbay after a hard ground combat you know :P!).

  7. @ozi yeah you are right,rifles are pretty buffed and other weapons are kind of useless (sniper rifles should be at least double or even triple range..so there sould be a number between 40-65 of range to give them their proper rule usefulness).

    And even if you are right with shotgun being a little worst than adv rifle..that 0.8 reaction fire is totally worth.

    reaction fire works in the next way:

    your soldier draw his weapon..alien foe does the same...wich ever got the lesser reaction number SHOOT FIRST!.....and thats its!. So, because mostly of alien rifles have a 1.0 modifier, that means that in every case a shotgun is used to reaction fire..it will shoot first :).

    but yeah...dragues announced he will rework ALL tu's,range and basically all stats for every weapon, but you need to know that proccess will take time (included it propper game and bug testing). And after that he will start doing tooltips ...so that will take a little time, hope everything works as intended and we must try to give him all the help we can, so the process could be done faster :)!.

  8. the problem he tells is something that also happened with XNT 6.0, the transmutation of red shirts!. sometimes the sprites goes fubar and the game egine replace them with another basic sprite (caesan non combatant) so it was a new alien..but only with the wrong sprite (this happened alot with the DELTA xenos, those tall white and purple guys you know).

    I love xenonauts...but sometimes i kind of hate the fact it have a full bugged game engine :c.

    andron...ehhh i dont remember the english word for this..but its a person with a lot of knowledge used to infiltrate and hacking computers in enemy fortifications...you could use this class for researhes purpouses. They got a LOT of information in their hard drive:

    And an avanced IA to bypass human software and then stealing it for them so they can basically learn from us...but also they have a lot of information from their own species,invasion plans,basic kwnoledge and stuff. Think of them like "walking wikipedias", you capture and study their Hard disk and got a lot of information and maybe research and stuff, or even autopsies and studies from their own races (its logical they know the pros and cons of their own soldiers right?).

    this andron infiltrator could be used in base defense missions because they send them to steal our researchs, but if we kill them we research them so we kinda win something for the effort of killing them...they could also appears in every post-corvette alien research mission...if they attack a research lab, or a military base, then they could need some kind of hacker :).

    Also im not sure if they have one , but it would be awesome they got a ANDRON PYROCASTER/HELLCASTER or something like that, one andron with a Heavy flamethrower (in the xenopedia appears there are a heavy version, you could restrict flame pistols and rifles to any alien but androns), and maybe adding them their own fire particle (a purple,green or other color fire could feel a lot more "alien-ish" and badass :P).

    PS: there are a couple of errors with xeno wariors (dark purple bipedal xenos), the SE and NW sprites are misssing, so everytime they look that directions, they are invisible, other times they ramdonly becomes invisible, and if you load a savegame with a warrior in your LoS, they stay invisible moving and killing arround only until you hit them with any weapon.

    i remember all this problems from XNT so im not sure if this is something that happens when you add new aliens or something :S.

  10. yeah, actually xcom eu got a good sistem with the parts thingy stuff, you feel like you were doing a lot of hiper deep enginering reversal, making everyone feel importontan, but it was "quite simple"..thats the tricky part:

    how add a lot of management, without making it a very tedious micromanagement?.

    ps: i was aggainst a caesan corvette, got my first down because friendly fire (friendly rocket i must say xD).

  11. got problems with the fox armor, every soldier with a "non-vainilla" face became invisible :T.

    Btw...testing on veteran...8 missions...only 1 KIA, i dont know if im very good, or just very lucky, most of the caesans doesnt shoot at time, they tend to get closer but get raped by my soldiers, xenos are cool, good ia thats great, very squishy early, but they become greater with time...sebs are also ok, i doesnt have found flaws in their behavior, they rush attack and punish just as a giant space lizzard should act (i would like a little more PUSHING behavior tho).

    You were saying that you want to modifiy the ia for aliens, i would suggest making every race have their own particular tactics..sebs are bulky, they are vanguards!, xenos are predators MOAR HUNTING!...caesans are more stylish soldiers so maybe a better specialed role would fit better, the thing i dont like is that they dont "shoot" the same damage than me:

    three or four of my soldiers do 3 full burst fire per turn..that makes like 15 or more shoots per turn..while they just shoot two or three ...and not always because with my "overwhelming firepower" i got them suppressed :c.

    Of course i know i need a lot more gametesting, but this is what i feel with caesans xD.

  12. Nice idea about base updates Alien. Even i dont have any idea about that, why not..

    I made 4 non combatants with 3 rank..

    -medic, physician, doctor - damage buf

    -weapon sergeant, weapon officer, weapon commander - weapons

    -technician, engineer, chief engineer - armour/vehicle

    -navigator, pilot, cruise commander - aircraft

    I dont know how the game handles live aliens.. they are like everything or do they any other kind of containment.. game files got a building for living aliens just like original xcom.. but for example i got 2 research which needs 1 navigator per one research.. when i did first research, 1 of the living aliens gone or ... dont know.. need to try it..

    i know they are just temporale names...but i dont like the weapon line names..it sounds too much human..but of course they are just a classification made by the humans itself.

  13. love it!, i remember trying to capture those pesky deeps one (they were called ANUROIDES in spanish..yes a lot of uranus jokes are coming) to get the ion armours...and hammerheads and stuff.. i always missed that in xenonauts.

    what do you think if also you make another alive aliens prerequisites for investigations like in the old ones?,

    you need a navigator to get the wave decoder thing (that building that gives you information from ufos).

    There were engineers,medics, and stuff, you could make those aliens class be fitted in the non combatant class right?.
