  1. I am also in the hater camp when it comes to "Reveal All". I can only remember one mission in which I couldn't find the last Alien (just happened to be in a store cupboard I hadn't bothered to clear. Of course, some others might find this frustrating but you shouldn't lump us all like that.

Half the tension for me is hunting down the last Alien, knowing full well that they could still kill one of my soldiers.

I'd rather see a "Aggressive" stance change for any remaining Aliens on the map after 12-15 turns - ala X-com - to force Aliens out of hiding. Yes this could be abused by camping outside the UFO, but that is a choice for the player. A reveal all gives us no choice. Suddenly the remaining tension is gone and its just a simple mop up.

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm not sure if I like the idea. It makes sense in the alien base to do a reveal when you capture the Command Center, but why in terror missions? If there was something that could trigger it that would be cool. Like if you stunned an alien, carried his unconscious body back to your landing craft, and then got a message saying "Alien Interrogated - revelaing battlefield".

On another note I can't wait see how the new corner system works in battle. Thanks Chris!!!

  2. Terror - I have made a Picture so you can see what i mean. I like your Game but your Terror Missions was like this:

Try this for the map you're on in the picture. 2 snipers, 1 rocket, 1 MG/Heavy Plasma/etc, 2 shotguns/carbine, and 2 rifles. Make sure everyone also has plenty of grenades. Camp you snipers, rocket, and heavy MG at the end of the street by the edge of the map - close to where you come out of the dropship. Keep a shotgun/carbine to guard the opening in the hedges on the bottom left, then send the rest of your team into the house on the top right. Use your riflemen to shoot through the windows and spot guys along the street. Keep the shotgun/carbine guy close to protect them. You can then use the guys in the house as spotters, and pick everyone off with your snipers, rockets, and heavy weapon. The street where your guys are crouched becomes a big kill-box. Once you waste most of the guys you can begin moving your guys up slowly.

  3. Just playing the game as is. I ran into a bug that caused it to freeze on a mission with a landing craft. I tried a few different times and it always froze. I can't progress in the game unless I take the landing craft, so I've been airstriking everything else. Well guess what, now I'm stuck on the landing craft again! Until I capture the landing craft and research the tech from it there's not much point in playing.

  4. I'm attacking the alien landing ship. My crouched guy throws a flash bang, it disappears, his TU's are gone and nothing happens. Then I realize none of my guys can attack or target an enemy. So I save the game thinking if I start it over everything will work, but after the game loads it just crashes. Save attached.

  5. The problem I have is that you look to see if you can make a shot before you move. Visually it looks possible, but then you move there and can't because of the odd LOF issues. So what you end up having to do is memorize the eccentricities of the aiming system for various obstacles. This essentially lowers the intuitiveness of the combat system because what I'm looking at on screen isn't an accurate depiction of the level/map.

  6. I find the rage against corners from someone called Walls amusing :)

Lol. Without Walls there would be no corners!

I kind of figured that's what it was - which is why I'm also doubtful it will get remedied. I wish there was a grid you could turn on and off to see exactly where corners/objects lined up. I don't know what exactly could fix it, but it's frustrating to lose guys because of flaws in the graphics/engine.

However, like Legit said - sometimes the enemy can shoot through it and you can't. So what causes that?

  7. This situation drives me crazy. I move a guy just a few spaces to be able to squeeze off a shot and he can't shoot around the invisible corners. These are all over the place - will you guys be able to fix these, or will we just have to live with it?

  8. I like them just the way they are. I use them a lot early in the game to get my live aliens and help offset the disadvantage of no armor and new recruits. By mid game I only carry a few for special situations, and past that I rarely carry them.

I don't think they give a superior advantage in battle at all. I feel like they're the first item I get that starts to put me closer to equal footing with the aliens.
