  1. I always end up rolling my eyes when the tip pops up that says (Paraphrasing) Airstriking crash sites will award you almost as much cash (/paraphrasing) When I've always got double if not tripple the airstrike reward from marching my troops into a crash site and blasting xeno-scum. Was that tip ever accurate?
  2. I don't believe you can. Yeah, i kinda want that bonus too, but what can ya do? Edit: Oops, didn't see those 2 whole other posts on a second page. Man I feel redundant.
  3. When you research them, you will see that they are designed to destroy alien electronics.
  4. You mean the super manuverable UFOs that are designed to opperate in a vacuum and performs rather poorly in an atmosphere that they have to spend time modifying their ships to be able to even fly in our atmosphere as explained in a reserch blurb after you recover your first shot down ufo? Those UFOs? Yeah, they explain that. In that blurb I mentioned.
  5. since they're designed to damage alien electronics, it's really not that odd that they harm and destroy alien electronic lifeforms, aka. Androns. Just saying.
  6. Ok, two things. First, the dificulty settings in the OG were broken. So unless you used a third party patch of some kind, all difficulties were really beginer (This is why TFTD is so hard. people complained that even on superhuman the game was too easy, so begginer in TFTD is harder than Superhuman would have been in XCOM:EU) Second, there's a ufo mission in the OG that if you didn't shoot down the apropriate UFO's before they reached their target's borders, you'd have a strong chance of automaticly losing that countries funding permanently. Source So you could lose funding in an extreemly unfair way in it.
  7. Heck, I've had one that missed all three! Also after a nights rest I've come up with another (also baseless) idea why you could miss with 100%. What if the RNG is set to hit if it rolls less than your to hit chance, but a roll equal or higher misses? If it works that way then if it rolls a 100, you still miss!
  8. Sorry, it's 1am here. Tired. Missread what you said. I'm gonna make a baseless assumption that the 95% thing may be hard coded in somewhere. If not then the god's of the RNG just simply hate you.
  9. If you check the documentation that comes with the game, you'll see that the maximum to hit is, in fact, 95% (yes, even if it shows 100%, it's really only 95%.)
  10. It may be the dificulty I'm playing or how far I've progressed in the game, but I've never seen more than one fighter squadron per UFO raid (as I call them). I just keep my dropship grounded until I'm sure that one wing of fighters (or the lone interceptor I'm getting atm) has been dealt with.
  11. I'm not sure of the exact numbers. But loading your soldiers until they've reached exactly their limit will level them up until roughly 75. When my soldiers reach this magic number I make sure they're 1kg over which works until around 85. Then I make sure they're 2kg over wich works until roughly 95. Then I make sure they're 3kg over until they max out at 100.
  12. The RNG is not your friend. It's a cold heartless [Dog] that snatches away certain victory and hands you utter. Shameful. Defeat. Or not. It's a bit random like that.
  13. I always felt it odd that I felt safer having my shield guy drop his shield when he end's his turn near an enemy so he doesn't get grenaded. He's more likley to be missed/take less damage from being shot at! (oh he's still hella usefull charging into ufo's though!) Side note: Are batton/shield really much better than Pistol/shields? Even when you get to plasma/MAG?
  14. I'm currently using two tems of five men. Each team has one heavy, one sniper, two rifeflman. The fifth man is different on each team. One has a shotgun, the other has a shield/pistol. Works well for me, although the shield guy has a habbit of catching grenades ... but that's a different topic. I've mulled the concept of replacing my snipers with moderate/mediocre marksman rather than the elite 100 acc guys I have at the moment, and handing them rifles to see if my team effectiveness increases or not ...
  15. He's actually still alive, otherwise it would say Human Corpse. The bloody mess just seems to be the art decision to cover all non xenonaut human bodies.
