This exact same thing is happening with me in the V18 stable build on Steam. I tried coming on the forum to report it but I got no response besides someone telling me I didn't type protocol correctly or something. But yeah, this has been happening since I got the game for me and it's really pissing me off. I sat there for at least two hours waiting for the game to load.

I bought this game a couple weeks ago and I've been trying to play it but every time I try to get into a ground combat aspect of the game it sits there and loads for a straight up two hours and then doesn't respond. I know it says be patient but I was told before that two hours is absurdly long. I posted on here before but I didn't get a reply because I guess I didn't set up the protocol correctly or something. I'm running this game on a Samsung Laptop Win7 Intel® I7-3615 CPU @ 2.30 GHz, 2301 Mhz, quad core with multi-threading. I don't know whether or not my system specs are relevant or not but I hope it helps. And yes I did verify all the files and tried reinstalling and all of that nonsense on Steam because I'm not ten years old. I would really like to play this game because it seems a ton better than the XCOM: Enemy Unknown game that I've been playing since Xenonauts wouldn't work. Anyway, any help at all would be appreciated. I know the dev team and the testers are probably swamped with problems but I've seen quite a few of these threads popping up with the same problem and they never get an answer.

Sorry new to the forum. I'm running the latest version [v19.3?] as I downloaded it on Friday. It's the steam stable version. I've seen other reports of this happening but they never seem to get an answer to their problem. I'm really looking forward to playing this game as I've heard A TON of good stuff about it. I just heard it was buggy. Hopefully this bug gets fixed soon because I really want to try out the ground combat. I verified all of the files on steam and that hasn't worked so I'm going to reinstall and see if that works.

So it seems the ground combat aspect won't load at all for me.I've waited over two hours for the battlespace to load and the game ends up not responding. So I always have to close it with my task manager. I know the screen says "This may take some time." but does it really take more than two hours for anyone else? If it takes this long normally I think I'll just have to wait until the finished build to play this game. I've asked this question a few times to other people and they've said "Oh you're just being impatient." so I just want to know is it just me being impatient or is this a bug? Sorry about the title being out of protocol, I wasn't aware of it until after I posted. My bad.
