  1. I've found this in two cases I don't think you (yet) know about.

In the first case I got it when I moved some soldiers to another base.

In the second case I got the missing string when I had previously saved a role load out, which consisted of some of the first med packs you get. I later then got the updated/advanced ones. When I equipped the soldier with the default load out, the game probably tried to equip the outdated med packs (which I didn't have because of getting the advanced packs), and I got a string message. As a quick notice, the soldier didn't end up with any of the med packs equipped.

So maybe as a suggestion, the default load outs could update automatically whenever you get an updated med pack (as long as the weight, etc, is the same)?

    EDIT: Typos.

  2. In the save file, the alien is about to run through and "breathe" the stun grenade smoke the second time (making the noise), making the game crash for me.

All the soldiers are located so that the alien runs the same way every time and so produces the crash every time

EDIT: Actually, I managed to properly stun the alien by suppressing him, and throwing more stun grenades at him, so this might be just a bug where someone is moving through smoke, and making the game crash (which already is reported, I think).

  3. I'm having the same problem. Battle ends, soldier development screen etc are fine. When I load the geoscape, the things OP said load and after I click anything on the geoscape (base, research, etc buttons or the Chinook), the game freezes and crashes.

I'm using Desura. This problem came right after the hotfix. Before I couldn't even play (I made a thread about the problem).

Do you still need a savefile? I could attach it after I get back home.

  4. I played the game almost fully. I got to "The End" puzzle and finished it, but I still have to find 10 or so areas.

The game is great, though, I fully recommend it. You find exactly what you're seeing, in my opinion, the game is well marketed in that sense.

What I really appreciate in this game is once you figure out the puzzle, you most of the time almost instantly complete it. As opposed to puzzle games like Cogs, etc. The puzzles in themselves are extremely clever. Also, the exploration aspect is great. Finding rooms are puzzles in themselves.

Overall, the game is clever, breaking some traditional "rules" in game design. If you check out TB's "WTF is..." of the game, you'll have a pretty clear image of if you'd like the game or not. I found the developer's comments about the game to be rather true. :)

If you find yourself get motion sick from low FOV, check out the game's community hub discussions for how to change it. I myself feeling quite ill after 1 hour.

  5. I tried starting a new game three times now (the save from previous version makes the game crash).

Each time, after intercepting the first light scout and sending a Chinook to the crash site, the game crashes after the loading screen (the black one). When I reboot the game, there's a save of the game, but loading the save file will just make the game crash again.

EDIT: After some more testing, I found out that this happens only if I enable the Iron Man option.

Also, sometimes when the crash happens, I get "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error"

EDIT2: The same crash is now happening after I end my second turn in the first ground combat encounter. I'm getting the same Runtime error this time.

    WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS ;_;

  6. I started a new game, and got out from my first ground combat. After that, when I tried to send my troops back to the base, all time had stopped (tweaking the speed didn't help). I could still press buttons and go to the base, but nothing helped the time to run again.

EDIT: New games have also time stopped.

EDIT 2: Rebooting the game fixed the problem.

  7. Oh, that did it, thanks.

It was ticked on, and I launched on 1900x1200 (my native resolution), and it went to complete fullscreen (couldn't drag my mouse to the other monitor). So I then later presumed the other resolutions would work the same way.

Sorry for bothering with such a menial thing, haha.
