I shot down my first UFO in a desert, when the map loaded there was a significant part of the terrain that was missing and black directly next to the landing craft. My men couldn't move through it, it acted like the edge of the map, only surrounded by other parts of the terrain. I have the save-file but I get an error every time I click the attach button. Here's a screenshot:
