  1. I would like it if it had proper action points based combat, no RETARDED free alien moves on being spotted, better inventory management, less forced geoscape campaign progression, more soldiers, multiple bases & better interceptor combat. So to summarise: Xenonauts.

  4. I'm having bad luck on crash sites so have barely seen any farm maps. The couple I did play did not crash and I don't recall any invisi-civies. Was a very small sample though as they were probably 2 turns tops. Continuing testing. However I just experienced a new crash (for me anyway). My Hunter was destroyed by a Sebillian plasma rifle on a desert crash site map at which time the game hard locked and I had to kill the process.
  5. Starting with strange research options is due to the file: \assets\scripts\_basebuilt.lua having some initial values for some alien tech as well as various Laser tech being unlocked.   6. Behind you guys all the way. Will test until I can't test any more! Already know so many people that will jump on board once it's in a fully playable state.
  7. Ok I've installed and started a new game (normal mode, non ironman). New game seems to start with multiple alien techs researchable and laser pistols build-able (although no materials to actually do it). My first contact was an alien base. [edit] An unplayable alien base with the deployment tile disconnected making movement from it impossible. [edit] Wiped old saves and prefs to eliminate that being the cause. New game issues persist.

  9. There is already a workaround that essentially removes any non-player, non-alien enitities from the farm maps. People are reporting zero crashes with that fix so it has to be related to those.
  10. So sorry to be the harbinger of bad news, still crashing on the farm map Fresh 16.1 install, save directory deleted, new patch applied, brand new game. Civilians are still invisible in a lot of cases too.
  11. Just completed my first ever farm map without a crash so it might well be fixed. It was only a 2 turn affair though as the lone alien was pretty much knocking on the Chinook's door asking for a shotgun to the face. Continuing testing
  12. C:\Users\Matt\Documents\Xenonauts I have 3 files: __newGameSave__ AutosaveIM2012-10-20_12.28.34.sav AutosaveIM2012-10-20_17.38.27.sav I can't see a log of any kind in the actual game folder either but there is so much to go through I could have missed it.
  13. Where might I find the file please? I just get thrown straight to desktop with no log, message or report of any kind.
  14. Do we need a fresh new game for this Chris? My existing save still crashed with both of the above fixes actioned.

Ok completely fresh standalone download from Desura (V16.1.2.rar) -Deleted everything to do with Xenonauts on my system, saves, prefs, old versions, the lot. -Extracted the files to a clean directory. -Patched it up successfully using the new exe. -Started a new game, veteran difficulty. -Played through 2 desert maps fine. -Farm map came up, crashed on first hidden movement.
  17. I'm in the same boat. Downloading the current standalone V16.1.2.rar freshly from Desura now (they are throttling me to 1MB sec though) and will re-apply everything from scratch. I'll delete my saves and prefs also so that there is no chance of anything causing a conflict.
  18. Spoke too soon, it crashed on hidden movement again literally the turn after I posted my last comment. Will get a fresh install and patch it up again just to be sure it's nothing I've done wrong.

  21. I'm playing at 1920x1080 and love the look of everything. The graphics won't win any awards for innovation but it fits the genre.
