  1. They haven't authorised it as they were confused that it said Kickstarter Build and had references to the demo in it. I've given them the go-ahead to do it now. Let's hope they do it soon.

Dock them a weeks wage and they won't do it again.

I don't know, you just can't get good service any more, I blame mobile phones.

  2. In general, people will tolerate 1001 bugs, especially through alpha and beta, but what does p**s people off are bugs that say 'game over'.

If you can keep clear of those type of bugs, where ever possible, then you should be laughing all the way to the bank with this game.

Been playing a few more games, I really like it. It looks like Xenonauts has finally escaped from it's cot, and now means business.

  3. Is it at all similar to Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising?

Yeah, Hostile waters was copying Carrier command while adding a few of their own elements into the mix, like characters with personality's, were as the units in Carrier command were remote controlled from your carrier, you were the only human on-board.

I have been waiting for a remake of Carrier command for years, and now it's finally arrived, :)

  4. It has a Strategic part which is faithful to the original and a campaign part, that is like a fps with troops, walruses and mantas. The beta only has the strategic part of the game which suits me as that is the part that I am interested in.

  5. At first, I thought "well, maybe they're modernizing the game for good", but it really seems it's getting butchered, just as all the good old stuff these days.

That's right. Just the fact there is going to be no ammo is enough to kill it stone dead, never mind all the other changes they are making.

The one good thing is that Chris doesn't have to worry about getting jumped on anymore. Looks like this game is the only pony in the race that still has 4 legs.

  6. It is just a couple of the bugs are annoyingly easy to find ;)

Okay, your employed. How soon before you can have a working version out? ;)

I know that bugs are to be expected in a alpha, and I also know that a game like this is not a easy task to make.

What does niggle me is, all he has to do to prevent wasting everybody's time on a dud release is play it for 30 minutes himself, or get someone to play it for him for 30 minutes. That's all it takes 30 minutes to detect all of the show stoppers.

  7. Testing and finding bugs is actually the main raison d'etre of these builds. By choosing to play these early releases you submit yourself to being a faux game tester.

Of course, but you need to be able to play it to find those illusive bugs. Also it's does not make for good word-of-mouth recommendation. when all that you can say about the game, when asked, is that you don't know what the game is like because it always crashes or freezes.
