  1. It's a shame I forgot about this database in my haste, and no one reminded me: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\LocalLow\Goldhawk Interactive\Xenonauts 2\ Please pin this somewhere visible. Even in the age of guppies, there are people who don't want to share their data on various networks, including Steam. To my great regret, this didn't help me transfer my old saves. But maybe it will help someone else. I hope so.
  2. Since the written idea about the icons may not be entirely clear, I will try to illustrate it with a picture (thanks to colleague Martouf82 for the screenshot!). Enemies visible to soldiers are indicated under their icons. When a soldier sees an enemy, a marker appears under their icon. This marker isn't tied to the number of visible enemies that can be seen by switching to that soldier, but it does indicate that there are enemies within the soldier's line of sight. I understand, the game is already out, but perhaps we'll be able to add such indicators at some point for player convenience.
  3. Anything is possible, but I haven't played Open X-Com, but I remember the button. Maybe it appeared in the second X-Com "Terror from the Deep". Unfortunately, I can't provide screenshots. They're from the 90s.
  4. I really want to continue a campaign, I've already started on my old computer, on a new computer due to time constraints. How can I do this, if Steam won't show my previous saves?
  5. Two more small suggestions have emerged. The game has icons that indicate enemies visible to our squad. I think it would be nice to add similar icons under the top row of our squad's soldier icons. This would allow us to immediately see which soldier has a direct line of sight to the target. This could be displayed as simple red dots under the portrait of the soldier observing the target in the top row of soldier portraits. This would avoid having to try and determine which soldier is immediately ready to open fire. Its be user friendly Previously, the game displayed panic status in each region on the global map. Now, to get panic status information, you have to hover over a region. Then, remember the value and move the cursor to the next region. Remember it again and move it again. This isn't a user-friendly interface. You can't win a war that way. I propose fixing this by returning to the old system of displaying panic status in all regions at once, without having to move the mouse
  6. Unfortunately, no. I'm being offered files from 2023 and 2024. There are no recent ones.
  7. How do I transfer saves to another computer in the current release version of the game? The game is installed from Steam.
  8. Firstly, a huge thank you to the creators for the game! Secondly, a huge thank you for its successful release! And a small wish for the future. A number of rewards for the player's soldiers are either somewhat vague or have a strange secondary meaning. Example of the first case: rewards for 4 and 5 killed enemies. Is that all? What about 10? 20, and so on? If "a" is said, "b" should also be said. Example of the second case: a reward for surviving a battle where most of the squad perished. I don't remember the exact words. So, the soldier "lost" half the squad, and instead of punishment, he receives a reward? Wouldn't it be better to reward effective achievements? When something was achieved, not something lost? For example, during a mission to free civilians from kidnapping, all ten civilians were saved, but where's the reward? That's not right
  9. I support a player who hasn't suffered any losses Almost all rewards are earned within 2-3 in-game months. Rarely does a soldier leave without a full set, not counting the "insane" rewards for losing personnel.
  10. The mouse wheel no longer zooms smoothly and correctly in Air Combat. It switches jerkily from minimum to maximum and back. If necessary, I can attach a video.
  11. Your interpretation of Isaac Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics is interesting However, your interpretation misses the core idea expressed in the First Law, which categorically forbids robots from harming humans. This same idea is reinforced by the Second Law: obey humans only as long as doing so does not conflict with the First Law. Only in third place is the robot's life considered. Without crops. And even then, only as long as protecting that life does not conflict with the first two laws. Without crops. A robot created according to your laws is best destroyed before its creator is even born. Otherwise, humanity is doomed. A priori It's no wonder I don't use Mars or any of your other robots. They're worse than aliens. Except they don't level up :)))
  12. The MARS is simply a NATO tank. As the experience of the Special Military Operation on Ukraine showed, bushes are insurmountable obstacles for NATO armored vehicles. To get past them, you'll have to switch to Soviet or Russian vehicles But I'm all for it. At least a T-34 Plus, I'd add incendiary ammunition or flamethrowers. Including for fighting bushes. After all, that was the weapon in the first X-Coms
  13. Thank you for developing the game I've been dreaming about for decades! And thanks for the warning against starting a new campaign! After all, releasing new versions inevitably makes it impossible to load previous versions of the game. It's like sadomasochism from the developers So I have a small suggestion, since the only versions I found to be the most buggy were 7.9 and 7.10, while the others were perfectly playable. Perhaps in the Steam client settings, the available versions of the game should be listed not in encrypted form (standard public, experimental, etc.), but specifically by number (for example, 7.9, 7.10, 7.11, 7.13, etc.)? This would make my life as a player much easier
  14. The downside of the new versions—the incompatibility with previous versions—is currently one of the game's main drawbacks for me, unfortunately. Since I'm not a fast player, I only manage to play for two or three months at best before having to start over again. This is annoying, although I understand the rush given the imminent planned release.
  15. After reinstalling the game, the version was updated to 7.10.0, and the required files can no longer be downloaded to find the bug. This bug has been fixed in version 7.10.0. Thanks for the fix! However, bugs frequently appear during allied or enemy turns. My favorite part of the game, ground tactical battles, has become a torture. In almost every mission, I have to find a stuck enemy or ally and try to "get around" them. Do I still need these bugs from version 7.10.0? I've read on the forum that they're common.
  16. Ok, I'll try reinstalling the game and see the result.
  17. When changing a soldier's armor at base, a funny bug occurs where only the soldier's head is shown. This can be fixed by switching between soldiers.
  18. Regarding the soldier's portrait in pop-up notifications, I'm afraid it will be too small to be easily remembered. But I won't object. If someone enjoys this "portrait reminder," then fine. Because it certainly wouldn't hurt me
  19. Firstly, I'm glad to see that the development team has this idea of choosing a soldier portrait. This is certainly encouraging! Secondly, I'll try to provide additional arguments in support of this idea: - Besides the commander's blurred figure, it's desirable to have a face on the team that the commander finds pleasing to look at. Does the selection of squad candidates really have to be so limited and unrepresentative? - To avoid angering sponsors, we could allow the choice of the face of one soldier from the initial team. Not all soldiers, but just one. In this case, it's sufficient, in my opinion, to offer the option to choose from existing portraits. This could be done with the ability for the player to combine facial components when creating a portrait of "their" soldier, or without such combinations, simply by searching through the portraits available in the database. This way, the interests of the sponsors will not be infringed upon a priori, since there will be players who choose the sponsored portraits. - I don't hire people if their faces make me uncomfortable. Yes, they meet you by your clothes, and see you off by your wits. But in the vast majority of cases, the skills of the "ugly" candidate aren't so superior to those of the others that it's worth "rewarding" yourself with the need for unpleasant, constant communication with them. I tried it once. A month of experimentation ended predictably. It didn't work out. And we're talking about a game. One that should bring the player pleasure, not fray their nerves. Right? - Well, I wouldn't want to go back to the experience of the original X-Com 1, 2, and 3. Namely, hacking save files to achieve the desired result By the way, the experience of excellent turn-based tactics isn't limited to the X-Com series. In two other top series, choosing a favorite character portrait was organized. I'm talking about the Jagged Alliance 1&2 and Silent Storm 1&2&3 series. Therefore, I sincerely hope to see the idea described implemented in practice. If necessary, I'm ready to help with arguments
  20. This fix can be made after the release. There will be a nice update Thank you, Chris, for your reply, and especially for adding this to the fix plan! Perhaps you could also consider introducing a portrait selection for at least one of the starting soldiers? P. S. I'll try to Google translate the rest of my notes. I apologize in advance for the clumsy translation.
  21. An attempt to demonstrate the process of selecting a team for a "suitable person." Incidentally, it was one of the more successful attempts. Sometimes it takes much longer. Попытка продемонстрировать процесс выбора команды на "подходящее лицо". Кстати, одна из достаточно удачных попыток. Бывает и намного дольше. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xFIdJeens0o Maybe we should give the option to manually select a character portrait for at least one fighter on the team? It's an RPG element Может все же дать возможность ручного выбора портрета персонажа хотя бы для одного бойца из команды? Элемент RPG
  22. I completely forgot. During my last playthrough, I reached the landing in Unidentified Orbital Object, but I still didn't get a weapon better than Gauss. Something's wrong. I hope the automatic translation is clear.
  23. 10. And a few more minor tidbits: - There were versions where the player's soldiers could open and close doors on enemy ships and bases. Maybe they should bring this feature back, at least for the Cleaner's base? Well, our soldiers aren't completely stupid, are they? - There are some issues with shooting over a seated soldier's head when shooting diagonally. There's a fairly high chance of shooting a friendly soldier sitting diagonally, not directly in front. Is it possible to implement a breathalyzer test before a mission? - Previously, it was possible to neutralize an enemy's toxic grenade by throwing a smoke grenade. I think this has been removed. Maybe they should provide some way to deal with toxic smoke other than gas masks and fancy armor? - There are issues with shooting from elevated positions and at elevated positions. Is this a feature or a bug? - Will there still be flamethrowers? =) Smoke rendering is there. Fire rendering isn't much different. - Soldier awards (for 5 battles, for 5 enemies, for 1 UFO, etc.) are somehow... completed in the first or second month. Then, the soldiers are decked out in almost every order and medal and await their first enemy base, sadly realizing that they'll never get a medal for the death of almost their entire squad. Colonels also want medals. "Boring, girls" (c) - Is it possible to create a weapons and ammunition depot directly on the landing ship? For backup? For multiple missions in a row. Like in the first X-Coms. - (Received a response from Chris ) - And most importantly for me: give the ability to choose the face of at least one soldier. I emphasize, I'm not even particularly interested in his stats. Add an RPG element. Please let me choose a pleasant face for the person. With respect and hope! P. S. Do tanks (Mars, Ares, and so on) still not driving through the bushes? P. P. S. The idea of paying for repeatable missions with Operation Points isn't a good one, in my opinion. For me personally, the most interesting part of the game is the tactical turn-based ground combat. And having to waste Operation Points trying not to lose them is not enjoyable at all. Automatically crediting a cash bonus is fine, but paying with Operation Points isn't the solution. Maybe it would be better to use a portion of the loot? "We'll pay with gold." (c) 10.
