    Well, i was also thinking about things which make the game more difficult. But not in a straight way, but in a more roundabout way.

    As a matter of fact during the last AI development stages the facehugger AI got a little bit "nerfed", and as a result is more docile than it actually can be. There was no way to fix it without allowing them to attack vehicles for a large damage portion. Im thinking about adding them into the game again as the "Empower Facehugger Option". This does not fundamentally change the game, but improves on the AI of facehuggers a lot with the side effect that it also can attack vehicles.

    I i would be open for suggestions for meaning improvements on the difficulty.

    I am still open for meaningfull changes which makes the game more enjoyable for casual players. One slot is still open.

    Well, what bothers me late game, there are 2 many aliens, especially in their base. And im not casual player. Somethimes i needed couple of hours just for single mission. I prefer stronger but less enemies. Maybe you made change, i didnt play x div in last 12 months.

    But i have 40 scientists, i killed many many Androns, i did andon, andron hub and guard disassmbly... still no new armour ?!

    How to stun Androns when i saw in tips 100x  that stun damage cant do nothing with robot units ? Emp granades ? I dont have them and i dont know how to get them.

    there are soooo many research things to do, like you wrote 1000 of them ( and i love that )  . it would be nice if we have some kind of research tree, because for us who didnt made this mod, is  really hard to remember all that stuff... 

  4. 3 questions.

    First , im in February, doin ok , Suave tips helped me a lot, but i still have only have fox armour. How can i open next armour , who to stun ? I have all kinds of weapons, opened laser and ultimate / mag weapons.. but im stuck on fox armour and its getting really hard.

     

    2nd q , i cant find enough alien stun granades, so i in last few months i cant produce stun granade or rockets .. What alien is giving me a. stun granades and do i have to stun him to get few ? 

    3rd q, i Still only have Asierus and Foxtrot, no new planes .. is that normal ? Im doin ok in airfights, just asking..

    Yesterday I stopped playing for 6 hours because of that small facehugger. when i finally had curage to continue and load the game, i killed couple of enemies and then i saw some large ugly alien coming at me. I am 38, but i was screaming in terror when i saw that beast. :) And how many Wraiths are in that mission ? Right now one of them killed my fav soldier Lee Marvins Son and after that 3 of my soldiers went panic ( and i have at least 5 majors in that squad, im angry that majors go panic after one soldier is down) .  And whole mission aliens doin PSI on my squad, dont know how to fight against that. :( Before Lee Marvins Son died , he went out of control, had to move all of my soldiers from him.. aaaaaaaaaaaaa ( in despair ).

        So you say you have come across a facehugger lol? Yep, these are annoying, though very fragile. Same as with Reapers (the other guys that can zombify your soldiers) you just need to keep your distance and use vehicles for spotting - when you spot them, you can withdraw the tank and use the snipers/rocket launchers. Also, I use a lot of incendiary grenades as an area denial means - many aliens will die walking through flames, but many will try to walk around it and gives you valuable time. Honestly, in some longer missions, I just bunker up - drop smoke grenades in possible routes and try to lure the enemies out. 

        And yes, you need to take it slowly, create a parameter and methodically push it forward - this way you will always have your enemy in front of you, so no nasty surprises will hit you from behind. There is no best method, it will have to come with experience I am afraid. Also, make sure you have a diversified arsenal, all laser/all ballistic/etc usually means that you may come across an enemy that will be veeery difficult to kill.

    Tnx for tips.. Problem was that map is full of some kind of large boxes + lots of other things, so i didnt had clear view. He crawled just around some box and bite me.. HAHAHA

     

    Yeah, i have great weapons and i dont go with just lasers, i mix things.. 

  7. I am on large ship mission, normal diff., december. My god. Suave how can you play Ironman , my hero. :) I know my weakness and ill try to change that. i play 2 aggressive ( xcom 2 style). 

    So i tried this mission to go slower... soo many enemies... somehow i thought im doing ok.. then i spot what at first i thought its some mouse. i thought its just graphic thing. After 4-5 turn that mouse ( now i think its some kind electric scorpion ?! )  came out of nowhere and turned  my healthy soldier into mutant. WTF ??? How you defend against those type of things , when you play Ironman ?

        Yep, they are long and difficult. Having said that after 20 turns the whole map should be revealed showing you the location of all enemies (unless you use Charons Changes mod).

        As I said - playing on Ironman gives me a lot of "stress" and excitement and force creative thinking instead of save-scumming.

        In terms of ammo/medkits - when going for long missions (like terror) I usually OVERLOAD my soldiers - I stuck their backpacks full of ammo and medkits. Granted, on the first turn they will be barely able to move, but I just drop everything on the floor of Chinook and that makes it an "ammo depot". When I need to reload/use medkit, I have got a stash onboard.

        Also, local forces (civilians with guns, police,etc) drop their weapons on death, so this might be useful at times.

        And just to show off a bit - I was testing new ideas recently and I have started yet another new Veteran Ironman game - so far mission number 36 and no losses (lost probably about 10 Hunter Cars though lol). So yeah, it is possible to survive it (well, about 3-4 times one of my soldiers had to be revived at the end with 1hp, but hey, at least they got their Purple Hearts).

    You are my hero, really. ironman must be sick. i even save scum somethimes ( and i hate that ) and cant complite some missions. 

    I guess im using Charon Changes mod, because no sweet 20 turns enemy shows up for me. :( 

    Btw, im in November , still didnt saw officer... Can that happen ? i have lasers to research, i dont mind, but weird that no officer yet. Before they wrote when mission starts that officer is here, is that still the same ? 

  9. Is it possible that terror mission started during day, but after 20ish turns is night ? Its so long and hard mission. i really dont get it how can someone play ironman on this mod.;)  So long mission, great that i can take weapon from dead soldiers. It would be nice touch if you can add that somewhere on longer missions we can find medkit. Maybe on dead soldiers ( like weapons)  or in some rooms.. 

    Cant belive how good is this mod. So many details, it feels real. And im scared. ;)

  10. Like someone before - i cant see my mauser and beam airplane weapons . i installed again..my mods are 100% correct like on your pictures.

    INTERESTING - When i DEACTIVATE Xenonauts Fix PAck and Activate on same place "COM -Xenonauts Fix PAck" , then i have all pictures of my weapons .. i dont know the difference between those 2 files, can i use that COM -xenonauts fix pack, or maybe both ?

    EDIT: No, i cant use them both.. then again no pictures. Only when i use just "COM -Xenonauts Fix PAck" i can see pictures and i can put new weapons. But i dont want to continue playing until someone can confirm that this is ok. 

     

    OOP: Suave, first terror mission. They have tanks ??? What you use against them ?

    i was watching muligan on youtube a bit, but not to much ( dont like spoilers).

    On what level you play now ? Normal or veteran ? It must be hard to play Ironman on this game.  Somethimes i dont see that wall is little destroyed and then alien hit me trough the wall.  

    Are you not affraid to play Ironman ? I am big fun of Ironman, but since my last crash in Xcom 2 Long war, im so affraid to play Ironman, so i play honestman, but its not the same, i cant help myself and i reload when for example their fighters crush my dropship full of soldiers. 

  12. Do i need to bring more soldiers to other bases ( i have 3 ) ? To defend them ? in vanilla i had soldiers just in one base, but in x - division i remember aliens conquered one of my bases. im in the end of my first month. And tips about bases - soldiers strategy ? Tnx. 

    Im building missile batterys on other bases, but dont know how many of them is enough. 

  13. Suave tnx for quick tips. i was always in love with shotguns and they dont work. I started on normal again and now im doing fine, 6 successful missions. Yes, there where some Caesans on first mission, but bigger problem were those melee fighting aliens with tails , forgot the name. I know fire is good against them, but on your first mission you dont have any fire weapon.  

     

    Charon  - I made clear install and everything is working great. i have latest update , 0.41

     

    Btw, mod is in such great shape, with this mode this game is in my top 10 games ever. I so love yours research tree , pictures of aliens and weapons.  And love your moded enemies and their AI.  Just this bleeding is 2 hard now i think. Maybe ill research some better medkit and then would be little bit easier. RIght now almost all of my soldiers carry medkit , because of bleeding.

Ok , because i didnt play for 10 + months, can someone tell me how to hit anyone on first crash mission ? from basic weapons, nothing works , just sniper can hurt them. i came close to alien with 2 of my shotguns and nothing. not single hp lost. yes, i am using shields on 2 or 3 soldiers.   Do i have to have 6 man with rockets or  what ? Also there are at least 2 some kind of beasts, i cant do them sh.. 

    I started on normal, mission is really to hard for 2nd level difficulty.

    Also, i really dont like bleeding from last patch, people dying like flies. i mean, its first mission, before with x - division i could go far into the game. You made mod really hard in last year. Is it possible that first time in my life ill have to start on easy diff ?  :p

  15. arghh. There is only one thing harder then your mod ( and i love your mod ) , and thats instalation of your mod. :( So i didnt play xenonauts for 9 months ( xcom 2 more then 1000 hours , long war , you know what i mean), and i start downloading from your patch list where i stopped.. 99.30.. so i download 99.31, 32, 33.. all around 80 mb..  then it came 99.40.. link doesnt work, and when i go to download page i have 3 parts of 99.40, and first one is 2.5GB ? 

    Am i doing something wrong ? is there smaller version for us who have all previous patches ? 

     

    Can you just all put in one patch ( maps and everthing ) , because im gamer for 30 years and all this installation things about your mod is not easy, belive me. all this little things where should all mods be on list, deleting roaming files, downloading 7-8 diffrent patches .. its so easy to miss just one step and your mod will not work..  i know its easy for you because you are making changes on this mod almost every day, but for gamer is real pain.  

     

    I mean, you made maybe best mod i ever saw ( maybe even better then circle of eight for toee and long war for xcoms) , but we need to read 2-3 hours how to install correctly your mod, plus all this downloading + im dead if i missed one word from your install manual because game prob would not work . 

    Thank you again for your mod, i was never so scared for my soldiers, like in this mod. I hope ill manage to install it again. 

     

    EDIT : After 6 hours of downloading and installing, i can finally play. It would be good if someone mention on first page that 0.9.4 is enough, that you dont need patches before that. Also explanation of how to install patch 0.9.4 is on page 62, if i only found that page 6 hours ago, it would save me lots of time. 

  16. Tnx sfarrelly , I did open  Asierus and the Foxtrot . But for long time i have just them ( so i counted them as first 2 planes). But i cant open any other planes for many months. i  researched alien alloys. But i dont know why new airplanes dont show on my research. 

    and with 2 asierus and 1 foxtrot , with new weapons on them ( i dont dig this airplane weapons, so i put some beam and new cannon with 30 rounds ) i have 0 % on autoresolve, even when i attack single alien plane scout. 

    Right now im not at home, ill send you if you need something after 5 pm.

    Are you alive? Nice to see you.

    We got some serious plans for end game. We just go one by one so with phases because end game is just end and who would want to finish a great mod like X division ? Heh

    To be honest I never finished the game and I watched it first time at that videovide because as the end mission we need to have everything done to build that mission again. And I just like to experience the game rather then finishing it. But everything has a beginning has an end.

    Now X division is at a milestone because first time, we will get some very important special xce support from solver. Before this we tried to make something what we got, now we will have what we need.

    I can see that the materials are rich at game play as AA and alenium. We will use them more at more placesManufacture will be revised with new options we have. Everything you loot , but everything from the ammo to corpses will be part of the manufacture and research line.

    Mechs are one shooting aliens. Give me some ideas how to balance them please. What could a mech have advantage and disadvantage?

    Vehicle vs melee combat will totally change, there will be anti vehicle melee enemies. This will balance the game very well I think. Nobody will be safe.

    Anyway, next patch will be huge.

    You probably miss all the ufo core disassembles and more. I don't know why. You need to read xpedias to understand the mechanics. You can see the lists which you need to capture too.

     

     

    drages - i disassemble some ufo cores with engineer group. but i didnt get options for new planes. i was reading xpedia , i like it a lot. but maybe because my english is not so great, i didnt get how to build new types of planes.

    can anyone write me step by step just for the first new plane ? tnx. 

  18. I was doing good playing on normal. When i was on phase 3, i couldnt win any air battle. I play always on autoresolve, i had 0% to win.

    I had just 2 starting types of plains, my question is how to get better planes? 

    I understand how to have better weapons, but i dont have clue how to build better planes. I have some new weapons for planes, but obv. thats not enough. 

    Also , like someone already said, there are so many aliens to capture, it would be good that we have list somewhere in the game, that says what type of aliens we still have to capture.
