  1. Hmm.. perhaps! Are there any overly-annoying parts in Enemy Unknown that could require them, such as TFTD's second level of artefact sites or the first level of alien bases? Also, no grenades... perhaps. That was sort of my strategy with chrysallids, though. A primed emergency grenade: in the event of grlgaghagrl, pull pin.
  2. Ep. 10: [video=youtube;s0kUCcvFdHE] Also, seems the Enemy Unknown masochist challenge, as I'm calling it, seems to be met with positive response! Looking forward to starting it.. almost..
  3. Aaaand ep. 8. It's a long one! [video=youtube;YdMUk1SdpSI]
  4. Someone said a while ago in the TFTD play-through that I sounded a bit like a sports announcer at times. Is that a stab at that? lol. Also, mmm. Sponsors. Ahhhghghgghghhgh.
  5. Ep 7 is up. 1080p should be available soon: [video=youtube;QOey0boWECs]
  6. Ep 6 is up: [video=youtube;vi5ROjI-Xlc] Ep. 5 was uploaded shortly after 4:
  7. Ep 4! Going for that delicious embed this time around: [video=youtube;SKWFsqnlYkU]
  8. I use the captioning generated as a way to improve my enunciation (was a very poor speaker growing up) and it gets pretty bad sometimes! For the most part it seems.. relatively okay
  9. Episode 2 is up: Did a fantastic job with the ratings on that first episode! I asked for 50 and got a bit over 60. Let's go for 500 views on this one? I think we can do it!
  10. Started it up again for its Steam release! It seems like most people wanted me to just start it up and not worry about continuing where I was, not to mention the new viewers who aren't sure what's going on quite yet.
  11. Yes, I saw that. Thanks! The discussion thing goes ridiculously fast mid-day.
  12. When I hear indie, I think of a small development team that's self-publishing and (probably) won't have a public relations staff and relies on their audience for a majority of the quality assurance, but I think you're right: People hear indie and they think "Ah! One dude with MS Paint and Visual Basic! $2 game!" It's pretty sad, really. The price seems to be the biggest issue right now, but I've gotten way more than $20-30 out of this game, and I haven't even beaten it Edit: Would you be upset if I planted ticking explosives into car dude's pocket out of spite? ;P
  13. I made a quick video addressing some of the more popular complaints I've seen across the day in the Steam discussions: price point, art style, beta release, and similarity to other games. If I could get some help throwing this around the internet, it'd be much appreciated. Also, let's play coming back soon. Still working to get to where I left off (plasma tech; not far).
  14. Haha, thanks I do plan to keep the series going throughout the game's development unless Chris flies to my house, puts me in a choke-hold and tells me "No more!" Xenonauts is the most popular series on my channel and I love the game so I see no reason to stop in the near-future
  15. I feel like I may have mis-installed the second hotfix. I don't seem to have laser ammo either, unless that comes later on? Seems odd I can make the guns but not ammunition.
  16. Yes, I've seen that. I also happened to notice mention of "stun rockets." Very tempting, but I'm trying to avoid using any modifications to keep it as vanilla as possible, providing the game is still playable. That way anyone who may be "playing along" doesn't get any surprises because they don't have a mod I have.
  17. Game balancing hasn't kicked into full swing as we're still not actually in beta. The reaction firing is a known issue and I trust it'll be ironed out, but one fact remains: Never, ever, EVER.. do terror missions at night. Especially with rookies
  18. Thanks for the tips! I also only just noticed your signature... it seems to fit my current combat situation edit: The bit about fire and rubble, that is. Not the.. bad angels part? I don't know much German.. was never available in my schools.
  19. Good to know! I thought the sniper rifles seemed a bit.. gimpy? Oh well. More Team Rocket! edit: That is, for that session. I'll put more faith in my new sniper. He's no Hemingway, but he's alright... I guess.. edit 2: Also, my goal is to include fire in every thumbnail. Seeing as how the thumbnail backplates are an in-game screen shot, that means we needs lots of fire every episode. More fire = more explosions. This is good? edit 3: Throwing up a second one to make up for no Kerbal or Fallout 2. Should be public within moments
  20. Updated w/ 18.3.2. Started it off in Europe at stun technology: [video=youtube;9ONkicaTOdA]
  21. Too true, Commissar. They never turn out as well as you hope, and with the reaction firing being what it is... ouch. Skyranger Syndrome is back in full force - I never want to leave the ship ever again.. *slowly rocks back and forth* -------- It seems most people are in favor of me restarting but skipping to the stun tech prior to mediums coming in. I should have better equipment shortly afterwards, but I think I got unlucky with alien power sources. I think I may restart back in the Europe area, since tileset generation is separate from where the UFO was shot down (could change next patch, though) and I seemed to have much more activity over there. I'm going to wait a bit before starting over, though. I have a feeling a patch will be coming along shortly after Chris' vacation is over, and I don't want to burn out. I have other play-throughs to get going on anyway (Mass Effect now, Fallout 2 very soon). Definitely keep an eye out; either subscribe to this thread and watch for an update or subscribe to my YouTube channel to be notified when something goes up.
  22. It's a night terror brought on by a large UFO. We have no money and few soldiers. We're way behind on tech, and the world's beginning to look for an alternative. If this terror mission goes well, the items harvested would propel our technology to new heights and could renew the world's hope for a proper defense against the incursion... [video=youtube;sOgkaowrpfo]
  23. That was all played in the same session; edited across four different sittings. I was very much sick of the game at that point, lol. Always, always, always take X-Com in moderation. No excuses.
