  1. Isn't the map we get in the alpha supposed to be on the small side? With other maps much bigger? I don't know if the maps are smaller, but the sight range is really horrible. I think the reason for it is so we feel more tension from not seeing the enemy, in more of a horror game style than tactical, but it suspends my disbelief that all the soldiers can only see 10 meters in front of themselves. Do they teach you to only look at the ground in boot camp? As for seeing the entire map, you really wouldn't because of the forest effect. Something will eventually get in your way and block LOS. And a boost wouldn't even get to the "realistic" value anyway. Shooting down the entire map is already possible, as long as another soldier sees the alien.
  2. I've had the problem with a laptop and a desktop. I just thought I clicked too high the first time
  3. sorry, I checked the master bug thread and looked around for it on the forum but didn't see it. I thought it was weird that nobody would post that. Do you know by any chance when next release is?
  4. This happens to me fairly often. I'm playing off Desura, so I believe I'm at ver 8.9. The scenario is as follows: 2 F17's (although once they were with a Mig) are sent to intercept a fighter. The air combat initiates, the fighter trying to fly away to the western edge of the screen. The music sounds like it's playing twice, one tune approximately a second behind the other. The edges of the grid (The 7 bottom rows) are much brighter than normal. Initiating afterburners affects nothing. Eventually I hear missiles launching, but no animation. The edges of the screen show the geoscape map, and I'm able to scroll around it, and enter base view, but the majority of the center of the screen is blocked by the air combat. I sometimes hear guns in the soundtrack even when the fighters are out of range ( due to not afterburning). When the fighter reaches the edge of the screen, the game crashes.
  5. If a corvette is flying without escort, a Mig can take him out because the missiles lock before the enemy is in range or as it's just in range and the mig can survive one hit while the corvette can't take a salvo of missiles. Then I usually set the Mig to afterburners so it flies through the death zone as fast as possible
  6. I'm not sure if this is a feature, but it feels like at night Soldiers can see slightly to the side and even behind themselves, sort of in a circular pattern from them, while during the day, they have a very strict 45 degree cone of vision, not seeing what's behind them. Is that just an optical illusion, or can soldiers see behind themselves at night?
